  1. If they can actually present things this way instead of just implying (and sometimes not even that) they have lives and their own adventures, then you solve all issues in this thread. Party members have a justification not to follow you they don't grow useless over time. Me? I used to use even underlevelled characters in the IE games without issue. Its not like it took them too long to catch up.
  2. One thing they could do is create a levelling system where a Powerful Individual cannot level a entire city by himself. Where even paltry soldiers can threaten with numbers and/or tactics.
  3. I take 'avoiding the bikini chainmail' for granted, so no comment there. Dragons, if done well they are a great trope. No problems there. No thief girl companion? As opposed to what, A thief guy companion? Most games I played have both, so I don't understand this aversion. Romances. Not a game feature I ever aimed for, but I hope its at least not design from a gamist perspective of 'you must bed at least one of the stereotypes' a la Dragon Age 2. But I'd much rather get to know character from a perspective of camaraderie, and that their character development is not limited to romance.
  4. Considering the inclusion of a pause mechanic, I don't think opening your spellbook and reading the incantation would be that much of a test. But wordplay as a gameplay feature? Count me interested. Microphone thing? No, thanks.
  5. I agree. I believe that TB is the purest RPG experience and, to me, it is preferable. But if they are set on RTwP (and given that the pledges so far worked under that premise), let them implement it well. I don't want to enjoy Eternity in spite of its combat.
  6. I never felt punished for saying whatever I wanted to Dragon Age: Origins companions. If they disagree with me, they disagree with me.
  7. In my opinion, it is preferable if the pains of combat do not disappear as easily as it does in, say, Dragon Age. When you must resort to healing kits or Magic for healing, things may be more interesting. But only if said resources are limited. If you're swimming in gold to buy items, or if you can buy and carry items indefinitely, of if Magic is something easily acessible (if, say, the magic system is a mana bar that can be or is easily restored) then there's no point to not restoring hitpoints as soon as battle ends.
  8. I for one greatly enjoy the Vancian system, but only when the game was designed with limited resting. That added a layer of strategic resource management on top of tactical combat - limiting my resting as a houserule greatly improved my experience with all Infinity Engine, since I had to save my spells and couldn't just treat my hitpoints as disposable (or rather, was 'forced' to spend some gold on potions and scrolls). But if the developers choose to go with another system with a purely tactical focus, no big deal on my part. Also, as Magic is my most important gameplay feature, I'm curious to see what they've got planned.
