Which is either celebrated, like generally in big cities, or not so much (as in many smaller towns). Diversity works well if it's welcomed. mostly.

Wait, just because I referenced Europe in the past, does not mean that all my comments are now secretly about Europe no matter what I say. Besides, My reference to Europe in that link is correct. I didn't say the people of Europe are all idoits or they all like Fish n' Chips or something. I said Europe, as a whole, is also prone to racial problems. Which is true in many a sense, but most true if you look at it simply from a area of land. Denmark is apparently no exception. In Demark, I'd only need to go back to a 2002 U.N. report about thier visit to Denmark: In March the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination expressed concern about a reported increase in hate speech and in the harassment of members of the Arab and Muslim communities; the tightening of asylum and refugee regulations; and reports of the failure of the authorities to recognize the Inughuit community as a separate ethnic or tribal entity. In May the UN Committee against Torture reiterated its concern that torture was not defined as an offence in Danish law and that convicted prisoners were denied effective mechanisms to challenge the use of solitary confinement. It goes in to specific incidents. Point being, if you take exception to that statement, show me the Euro country that doesn't have things like this. Otherwise my comment is 100% correct. But when I reference that diversity (as a whole) you tell me I can't fairly do that. Fair enough, but I think it's worth noting that European countries do heavily influence each other, so much so that many countries actively try to preserve their culture. He is an American, thats why. I'M KIDDING!!!!! It was a popular cartoon and action figure. Very much agree, but it's not due to social decay, at least not in the traditional sense. Their city was wiped of the map. They went from having jobs to trying to find clean water. It could or it couldn't. The economy wouldn't be what it is now tho. Things like 9/11 or the Hurricane couldn't have been "shrugged off" as quickly as they were. Which is not only important in terms of recovering from these events, but our economic reaction to these things is vital to the world economic health. Other things might work, but capitalism (with things like welfare) seems to work pretty well in the long run. but your right, size has alot to due with what will or won't work, imo rough?

A Hurricane commentary...
He screwed up at the end, saying "in the city of Louisiana" instead of New Orleans. Anyways, I don't think the goverments response has many defenders here, so not much to say. BTW, maybe merge this into the hurricane topic. As it's essentially the same debate/topic.

Volourn Volourn has an attack of 3.4543 * 3 - 4^2 (because it should always take a second or two to figure out what Volourn just said ) Volourn has a defense of 1 (+5 if multiple attackers) Volourn is a "Unpopular Opinion" type card Special immunity to "Flame" based attacks Special powers: One per thread Volourn may play "R00fles!" on any card (mod or otherwise) causing that card to go "Up in Flames". "Up in Flames" causes a card to automatically attack Volourn on it's next turn, but due to complete loss of self control, that card takes double the damage that it inflicts (pre-modifiers). For two "meh" tokens, Volourn may invoke the "Bane of the 'Codex" power. Any card using a quote from a video game based website to bolster it's attack loses it's next turn and takes 10 points of splash damage from "What a mythical myth!" type taunts. If in a Bioware or EA discussion thread, Volourn may play his "UP WITH JE DOWN WITH KOTOR UP WITH JE DOWN WITH KOTOR" power, this cause Volourn to turn into "Fanboi" mode allowing him to play "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee............ " on any player to confuse him for 3 turns (player can't attack or defend). Also, once per thread while in Fanboi mode, Volourn "LONG LIVE DWARVES!" to cause 25 points of damage to any "Elf Lover" card, while recovering 25 point himself.

Yes, I compared it to individual nations tho. I didn't say Europe. You did. I thought that it would be unfairly grouping them to just say Europe Wait, how come you can group Europe together to compare it to the US, but I can't???? but about your point: I was in a rush and didn't address this as well as I wanted to: What I should have said it: almost America just didn't appear one day. All those people you talk about: Danes, Spaniard, Austrian, Greek, etc....they came here and brought all that culture and language with them. IIRC, Chicago is second to only Warsaw in terms of the city with the largest polish population. And there are even more Germans and Irish than there are Polish! The Almanac of American Politics 2004 states that "Even today, in Archer Heights [a neighborhood of Chicago], you can scarcely go a block without hearing someone speaking Polish". And thats just one city! So all that history, culture and traditions you speak of that seperates the people of Europe...that didn't just get wiped out when they came here. It remains. Except we also have lots of Asian, Hispanic, Muslim, and African American too. All these cultures remain, as do the languages. If your ever in Chicago I'll take Chinatown or Greek Town or maybe to the German or Polish sections. Maybe we'll go see the Puerto Rican day parade. Or the African American Pride Parade. Sure, it's obvious that we generally have one language to connect us all (tho if you go to a major city, you might not know it outside the touristy areas), but even that varies do to regional dialect. Which can be so heavy that I have trouble understanding everything. And of course, this is America, different cultures blend to become "americana". Where European countries, in my expirence, seem to be more focused on preserving their own cultures. So you see, it very possible that I can pick two random people from any European country (or hell, Europe) and two from America, and have the Americans be more different in culture and history. I mean, something tells me that a Cuban American from Miami and a Native Alaskan vary just a bit. And knowing is half the battle. Gooooooooooo Joe. I'm not defending the goverments response. Only saying most of those people arn't forming hunting packs and shooting to kill. Most are good people. You mean "poor" and "rich". Say hi to capitalism. It's not always pretty, but it stands the test of time well. tease I'll be gone for awhile, so if I don't respond, thats why

Please don't alter my meanings or put words in my mouth. I was simply implying that when you ask "What kind of society is this?", you have to know that there is a difference between people of this country. Just look at how we vote. While different senerios, this kind of thing didn't happen in NY during 9/11. I didn't suggest that you didn't. Just that your comments don't make that distinction. Much like you said mine don't. havn't been to the midwest, have you? For every "bad" story report, I promise you there is many more stories of some guy using his boat to rescue neighbors. Or people sharing food and water with those who need it more. You just have to dig a bit more for those. That, of course, doesn't excuse the bad. What do you want it to be

I'd do Grom (zing!), but Eldars got dibs: Well, if your going to make the mods an expansion, you need a ying to the yang (or vice versa, I forget which ones bad): jaguars4ever jaguars4ever has an attack of 5 (-2 for each "Mod" card in play) jaguars4ever has a defense of 3 (-2 if a "Mod" card is in play) jaguars4ever is a "Lovable Thread Derailer " type card Special powers: Twice per thread, jaguars4ever can invoke the "Prince of T.O.M.B.S." power and change the Attack or Defense power of any non-moderator card by +/- 1 for the remainder of the thread. For three "Strangely Hypnotic Laughing Avatar" tokens jaguars4ever can invoke " mini-semi-inviso-secret text!! " power, which allows all members to play thier powers regardless of any moderator power in play for 1 turn. No Moderator power can cancel this. For ten "Zing!" tokens jaguars4ever may play "Come Down to My Level" and cancel all moderator powers in play for 2 turns. His defense drops to 0 for 3 consecutive turns following this.
