Morrowind questions, need help please
The point to the ES series though has always been to let the player make their own way through the game as they will, following the story or not as they choose. Obviously that style of gameplay is not going to appeal to everyone. No harm, no foul. But that style of gameplay is THE guiding light behind all of the ES games, and MW comes the closest of them all to achieving that vision. IS MW a perfect game? No absolutely not. I don't like the char gen system or the skill system. I think the game is far too easy and doesn't have enough varieties of monsters to fight. I think the gameworld doesn't punish the player harshly enough for illicit acts. I think the game is too open to metagaming, which ruins totally the very reason for playing the game. Those are just a few of the issues I have. But all my issues judge the game against what it wants to be vs what I think it should be. WHich is an important difference. Its been my experience that I am more tolertant of a a wide variety in gameplay types than a lot of people, which is why I can play both Morrowind and Fallout with equal fervor and love them both, and I don't have to judge the one against the other and say X should be more Y or Y should be more like X. A lot of people love MW so it is obviously not a BAD game; it does have its appeal.. It may not be your type of game, but wouldn't it be a boring world if every game played essentially the same. I think so. But that's just my opinion there.

I'm there! Its a plan. Kalfear skips Oblivion, I skip JE, Sniper skips both and Hades skips the werewolf. Everybody wins!

Fallout 3 : Ideas and suggestions
Hairy deathclaws are what Fallout is all about. I want one for a pet. I would have it wear a little pink color and call her Mathilda. Awesome NPC right there. I mean Fallout was good, but with a little innovation it could be tons better.

ES has always been first person; the 3rd person is just a vanity view, much like a flyby in a flight sim. You're really not supposed to fight from it. I mean, you can if you want to, but its not really meant to be used that way. Please feel free to skip Oblivion as well. I'll skip JE2 and we'll both be happy.

Fallout 3 : Ideas and suggestions
I think FO3 should be just like Morrowind except with miniguns and ninjas and hairy deathclaws. A whole city of deathclaws, hairy and intelligent, and they should really be aliens sent to invade a war ravaged earth. And the new vault dweller has to shoot them all with her minigun while avoiding the katanta wielding ninjas. That'd be totally awesome.

Morrowind questions, need help please
1) Just follow the quest line. Its pretty standard fare. I usually don't worry unduly about stories in crpgs as long as they provide some base explanantion to why you are there. Never seen a good one. 2) The gameplay is what the gameplay is and has been since Arena. No one can make you like it. If its not your type of game, then its not your type of game. :shrugs: If you want serious hints, gameplay tips etc I am happy to give them, but I can't make you like a game. The expansions are a bit tighter as far as story goes, but I don't know if that justifies playing the game in and of itself.

No Fallout 3 at E3 2006
Fallout's great story: OMG our macguffin is totally b0rk3d! go and fetch another one, plz. ktb. I'm sure Bethesda's devs are totally ****ting themselves at the thought of surpassing that Wagnerian epic. :/

BioShock - Game Informer March 06
I can't think of one. Most games that go down as "great" are either low-hyped or not hyped at all.

BioShock - Game Informer March 06
Very true. Anybody who has already charted that up on the best of 2006 list is jumping the gun. I'm sure not rushing out and buying it the day it hits the shelves.

BioShock - Game Informer March 06
Not to be the ugly voice of realism here, but its exactly this sort of exagerated and unmerited over-anticipation that leads to all those omg, I can't believe this game is such an awful disapointment threads that give me such a headache on game forums immediately following a game's release. I'm sure all you KoToR2 people know the kind of threads i'm talking about.

Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?
It doesn't do it very well either! It is however a pretty fun FPS nonetheless. A tad reptitive in places, but what FPS isn't?

New Oblivion Interview
I just want to be there the day the FO forums open. Is it even possible to ban 5,000 posters in a single day, do you think? lol.

Jagged Alliance 2
Full auto was added in the 1.13 mod. Leg shots have some use, but its for pretty specialized situations.

Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?
FEAR is a standard FPS game that mixes straight up combat againt mercs and some various machines with little dream/halluncination bits that contain some grotesque sounds/images. I don't mean that in a bad way either. Its quite fun, but its not particulalrly bloody or ghoulish any more than standard FPS fare. Its certainly less so than a SOF or Hitman.

You guys are just awful the way you bash everything Bethesda. Its ridiculous, but it cracks me up.

Jagged Alliance 2
All of deidrannas elites are night ops and some are night ops expert. BY the end of the game, earlier in the 1.1.3 mod, many have UVGs. Happily their self preservation usually overrides their desire to kill so they will generally run out of the light rather than attack.

Jagged Alliance 2
well, now they will definitely come and get you. Enjoy!
-
Jagged Alliance 2
when fighting at night use breaklights to keep from getting rushed.
-
Jagged Alliance 2
in 1.13 Deidranna's troops will now climb on roof tops as well.

Whatever happened to F.E.A.R ?
? WHere did you get that idea? Its nothing like Bloodlines, and there is no real blood and gore. Mostly its a straight up merc fight. Closer to Far CRy by far than Bloodlines.

Jagged Alliance 2
If you're playing 1.13 on either expert or insane and have Drop All turned on you'll have better guns than the H&K G41 by the time you take your second or third location. Take Lynx instead. His mini-14 is decent for the early game.

Jagged Alliance 2
Well, I enjoy them simply because its something else to do in the game, but I'm definitely in the minority with that view. You don't really lose all that much by not having them. They are more of a "side-quest"" than anything else. edit: they do make the game somewhat harder though, since they are pretty tough to get rid of, and they will eat into your mine income and town loyalty.
