  1. The US is nutso though when it comes to nudity.
  2. Do we get personal force shields to go along with the regenning health and unlimited ammo? Perhaps our own Death Star orbiting high above?
  3. Has anybdoy heard or do they know if this is going to be Bioware's final PC game?
  4. Pop has always been down on The WItcher, but it's cool. We all have games that for whatever reason just set our teeth on edge and make us wonder what anybody sees in them. I feel exactly the same way about Bioshock as Pop does about The Witcher. Only more so.
  5. lol. Dude, what's up? Bad animations? You are telling me that a good crpg has good animations? That bad animations make a bad crpg? Come on. You're older than that. Atrocious combat? On what planet do great crpgs have great or even good combat? Fallout, Bloodlines, System Shock 2, Deus Ex, all the IE games, Daggerfall, Arcanum, I could go on and on. All these games were great crpgs or crpg hybrids that had horribly flawed combat. COmbat has little or nothing to do with the quality of a crpg. System Shock 2 and Bioshock both had equally bad combat. WHy is SS2 so much better? Because there is a whole rest of the game going on that makes combat only a small part, whereas in Bioshock the lame FPS combat is all there is. Are you going to seriously compare Fallout's overhead, TB combat to Jag 2 or XCOM? Or course not. Its a crpg; it doesn't need the kind of combat depth the latter games had. Daggerfall had FAR worse combat than MW or Oblivion, plus it was butt ugly to boot, but it was a far far far better crpg than both MW and Oblivion combined. The IE games? Is history now glorifying the IE games has some sort of riveting real time with pause high-fantasy combat simulation? Click, drink potion, click, drink potion, click, cast spell, drink potion, click? But it didn't make the games any less enjoyable, did it? Arcanum? Combat? lolollolol. Still a great, though buggy, crpg nonetheless. Camera Angles? Every games fails camera angles except first person ones. Interface? I love it when interface complaints come up. I wish I had 10 euros for every complaint I've ever heard about the interface in every single game ever. COme on, mkreku, such pointless negativity is not normally you. Usually you are the one railing at everyone else for their negativity.
  6. heh. I agree, but it does give the concept of party death a entirely new level of sigficance. My guess would be that the devs would argue that it is just a more convenient way of repeatedly quick-loading your last save. You're right. It is. And it led to some pretty dramatic rescues in Jag 2, let me tell you. Nothing worse than being halfway through a tough battle and suddenly have Scope exposed by a break light and shot full of holes. Its actually pretty cool some of the rescues my teams have been able to pull off of critically wounded mercs. In XCom it wasn't such a big deal since the squaddies were all nameless cannon fodder for the most part. Except of course the ones with 60 bravery that you had carefully nurtured for thirty missions.
  7. I didn't mind the IE system personally. But I understand the thought that simply having to save right before a battle and then reload that save over and over again until your party doesn't die, isn't particularly challenging or interesting and is msotly just an exercise in tedious repetition. The tradtional save/fight/reload when die system has worked in many great crpgs and tactical combat games like XCOM and Jagged Alliance, so its not something that bothers me. But I do think other systems could probably work better, since there really is no great significance to a battle that you can just fight over and over again simply by quick-loading a save until everything goes your way.
  8. Death systems are very difficult to implement in any game that allows one to save anywhere, at any time, with no penalty. I'm not saying the one is DA is going to be great or even good, but I can't fault developers for trying to come with some sort of system that works. Save points or XP penalties would be an easy fix, but most CRPG developers probably don't want to annoy fans with that sort of solution. I would support either one, personally. I think XP penaties for saves would be great.
  9. Of whose general opinon do you speak? Is this what the devs have said?
  10. Thanks, MC. That actually sounds somewhat, dare I say, promising?
  11. Believe it or not, a lot of times people dislike things because they dislike them. Especially as one gets older when the need to express coolness through disdain disappears entirely for most.
  12. That's just horrible.
  13. The hottest place on earth (recorded) appears to be Al Aziziyah, Libya on September 13 1922 when it reached 57.8 C.
  14. Its not really survivable though, for more than the smallest fractions of a second. I guess mentally I included the concept of "the hottest place" being some place that humans could survive for at least a while with basic items like food shelter and water. I mean the survivable temperature range for humans is pretty narrow, when considered against the range of tenperatures encountered acros the universe or even just the earth.
  15. Good lord no. Just no. Suffering very hot weather can be unpleasnt to be sure, especially if the humidity is high and you don't have air conditioning, which I didn't for many years, BUT, oh my god, nothing is worse than having to suffer extremely cold weather. Even with heat. Imagine trying to live through -12c weather if you had no heat. That would be a lot more hellish than living through 38c weather with no AC.
  16. WHat do you mean exactly? It is a game that is rated 7+ after all. I need to clarify this further perhaps; He mentioned that he and the developers of LBP have disagree about how they percieve people. The folks at LBP thinks that, according to him, that everyone is a precious artist, waiting for their creativity to bloom. Yatzee however, think that everyone is a "tosser". This is heavily extrapolated into the game-experience as well. Since they disagree on such a fundamental issue, he can't really rate it or review it properly. He even admits the level-design is really good, but he can't enjoy the game itself. It is simply not his 'type' of game. I se ewhat you are saying now, and I agree. My only counter to that is to point out that such has apparently never stopped him before, since every crpg he has reviewed falls into the "not his type of game" category as well.
  17. I'll trade you my -10c + snow for your 38c + dry wind. edit: I just checked. Make that -12 + snow and wind.
  18. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/star...rne-game-for-ea lol. It's like someone is crapping out of their mouth. I can't believe people get paid to write such drivel.
  19. I still don't get it. Was the review worse than others he's done of games that weren't Croshaw's type? Such as The Witcher? He took forever to get to the game review (almost a quarter of the time he has to review it) and then he did several things to fill time because he couldn't find enough to talk about (for example one hideous part had somebody shaking their butt (not like the butt dancers shiver it required alot of movement) with googly eyes glued to each boxer covered cheek). It felt like it was almost phoned in because he couldn't hate it enough. OK. I see that. It was an odd choice for a game to review. I doubt a lot of parents go check out what Yahtzee has to say about a game for their 7 year old. Or maybe they do. The world is a strange place.
  20. Higher math always confuses me.
  21. OK. That's awesome. ANd I don't even know what it means.
  22. I still don't get it. Was the review worse than others he's done of games that weren't Croshaw's type? Such as The Witcher?
  23. You're a glass is always half full type of person, aren't you, Hurlshot? I respect that. You are consistent anyway.
  24. WHat do you mean exactly? It is a game that is rated 7+ after all.
  25. Its not cheating. You can voice chords in many different ways all along the neck. Changing your voicings will change how the chord sounds.
