  1. It looks a lot more promising than I expected an ES game to be. As they say, the proof is in the pudding, but maybe this is the time Bethie gets most of it right. Still concerned about level scaling, which I really can't stand in any form, but it was better in FO3, so hopefull improvements in that area wil continue.
  2. But you gotta admit that Khajit looks a whole lot better. baby steps are better than no steps at all. edit: Do you remember the argonians in Oblivion? They looked like inflated plastic pillows. AT least bethie is trying: they appear to have gotten rid of the weird face bloat/warp thing they had going on in Oblivion. Faces appear to have an actual underlying bone structure now.
  3. Well the faces appear improved at least. Bethie has been trying to get their faces right since MW so maybe third time is the charm. edit: the environments don't seem much different but they were mostly OK in Oblivion, though a bit bland compared to MW, so not a big deal really if the improvement there is minor. I especially like the Khajit. Looks much less goofy.
  4. You realize the figure is a giant right? ah, ok. I was assuming around a 2 meter height for the figure. If it's more like 3 meters then it makes more sense. *shrug* When it comes a Bethesda game I'm not expecting anatomical accuracy. I was merely noticing that the mammoths appeared small relative to the figure.
  5. I think that's a Lovecraft story. The Mi-Go brain jars are more like sealed metal containers, I'm imagining more Futurama here. Ah, the particulars had escaped me. Thank you. I remained concerned however that Tale's brain may not wish to go to Yuggoth.
  6. I think that's a Lovecraft story.
  7. easy is the new hard.
  8. I would look at that screenie and think it was an Oblivion mod. WHich doesn't mean much, I guess, other than modders are pretty talented and Skyrim still looks more or less like Oblivion. WHich is fine. As long as it doesn't play too much like Oblivion. That's what counts. edit: I do like the mammoths though. Hopefully they are generally peaceful and don't constantly attack and become as annoying as clifffracers. ALthough they look a little small relative to the figure. Perhaps they are juveniles?
  9. not at all, a lot of games are doing it. Legions, Tribes, Section 8, to name a few. it's a new trend awesome! Now just add climbing and swimming and games wil be close to what they were 15 years ago.
  10. The z-axis is verboten in the current paradigm.
  11. lol. Forgot all about this pos. Was thinking oh what XCOM? meh. Soon every game in every franchise wil be a gripping tactical shooter set in middle america.
  12. Welcome to next gen gaming.
  13. I voted in the affirmative but only if it is made by bethesda because only todd howard could do it justice.
  14. Out of curiosity, for those who played both, if I can bother you for a moment of your time, a question: which is better? 1 or 2? But not including the graphics, since that isn't much of a concern for me one way or the other.
  15. I love tin tin. That trailer...nope. But good to know it's in 3d cause that will surely make it better.
  16. lol. actually, I did. edit: my bethesda bitterness predates that however, all the way back to what happened to the ES series between Daggerfall and Morrowind, though in hindsight MW wasn't too bad.
  17. Well, that's pretty cool. You defintely got your money's worth out of it, even without mods. Don't get me wrong, mods are great, but the as-shipped game has to stand on its own, I think, which for me Oblivion didn't. I'm hoping that Beth has learned some things from both Oblivion and FO3 (and maybe even Fallout:NV), and that Skyrim won't even needs mods to be fun. I'm not expecting brilliance, just hoping for fun.
  18. How many of those 300 hours were spent playing the unmodded-as shipped-vanilla game?
  19. Playing Nehrim made me feel better about the money I spent on Oblivion: I was finally getting some value back. Is that a testament to Nehrim's brilliance? No, probably not. It is however testament to Oblivion's badness.
  20. Chimpanzees bouncing on a typewriter write better stuff than Bethie did in Oblivion. I certainly wouldn't claim it as the best thing ever certainly, but on a relative scale it manages to somewhat fix most of Oblivion's worst problems. It's a free tc. I wasn't expecting a super-polished piece of work. It's laggy performance is definitely its biggest problem for me.
  21. Oscuros is ok, but really just install the nehrim total conversion and save yourself a lot of misery about being forced to play a crap game designed by cretins. http://www.nehrim.de/indexEV.html
  22. wait, did somebody just imply that JAMES BOND is not mature?
  23. Almost 20 years since Doom and id is stil making the same game. I got bored about halfway through the trailer so maybe it gets better. However unlikely it may seem.
  24. Sex as a reward is a no go in Australia? How does Bioware even get their games released there?
  25. Hey, whoa there. They're not crappy, they're just...um...hmm...ok. crappy.
