Speaking only for me, it is not the time limit itself that bothers me, rather it is being forced to replay something until I get it exactly right. Replaying something because you want to try something different or make different choices is one thing; being forced to replay something because you didn't managed to jump through all the developers hoops is....meh. If its a very short sequence that needs to be replayed a few times, such as a difficult jump, OK, I'll try it, but having to replay really large amounts of stuff or even worse, entire missions multiple times, is not something I'm going to be bothered with. Life is too short.

So even just getting involved in any resolution lowers your karama regardless? Interesting.

Well, listening to the guest review at the beginning just makes you realize that not everybody can pull of a shtick like Croshaw's with such aplomb as he does. And I agree that failing and BEING FORCED TO REPLAY missions becuase you missed a time limit is super lame. I would have hung up the game at that point, too.

I let the ghouls into Tenpenny Tower.

I didn't realize that you hadn't played it yet. Cool.

My friends and I used to call those "XCOM moments". Things would appear to be going fine, then all of a sudden total disaster would strike and wipe out your entire team. Like when a low bravery guy would panic and fire his laser gun into a squaddie carrying an armed grenade. The armed grenade woudl fall loose as the squaddie died and blow up killing two teammates and wounding a third. The third squaddie, wounded and panicked would proceed to fire his rocket launcher right into the back of the Skyranger, killing all your remaining troopers and your tank. Mission Score: -1000 lol. It was amazing how often stuff like that would happen. COngrats on surviving an Xcom monet and finishing the mission.

I don't know. No matter how much I want a good crpg, I find it hard to get excited about one that appears to be putting such emphasis on romances and cutscenes. It jutst feels like this is a game that is really aimed at adolescents. Especially male ones in a Twilight for gamers sorta way. Isn't the average age of gamers now in the late 30s or something? Shouldn't games be trying to present games that go beynd adolescent wish fulfillment of being a barrel-chested hero with lots of babes? I'm all for character interaction and stuff, but I don't see how that neccessarily means romances. Doeesn't necessarily mean the game wil be not worth playing. The Witcher has that stupid and completely unneccessary nudie card thing happening and was still a decent game. Just doesn't get me excited, atm. So far not really a mindset that I feel any real connection to.

8 hot keys is not enough. Granted they are just a convenience for the gamer, since inventory rummaging pauses the game, but inventory rummaging is soo clunky, I hate having to go in there. Way too many filters and buttons and scrolling and clicking. WHat was wrong with the tradtional paper doll with inventory slots again? I forget.

lol. That goes for the whole game. Really, though, you can't compare them. Even though Fallout 3 is fun; it's not even playing in the same league with Fallout 1 and 2. I'm hoping that for Fallout 4, Bethesda simplay eliminates dialogue all together and just does what they now seem to do best: create a goofy world to explore.
-
lol. I didn't think you'd actually bother doing it though. I still remember your reaction to Morrowind after you have it a try years ago. I figured you'd never actually play a Bethesda game again.
-
Unexpected, this is. I would be curious to know what you think. Please feel free to post your thoughts and reflections, if you feel so inclined.

Correct. There isn't much point to having more than the default 20 levels really as far as I can see, unless you really have a fetish for having everything maxed out. But the leveling SPEED is out of control in the unmodded version. Unless, I suppose, you are more interested in just hitting max level as fast as possible rather than enjoying yourself along the way. I'm definitely in the latter category. SO I like to slooooowwww it all down as much as possible.

old = bad. A new generation of gamers rules the roost.

A New Game Unannounced from Blizzard
Slowtrain replied to Magister Lajciak's topic in Computer and Console
It sorta went off on a tangent of blizzard's writing and narrative prowess or lack therof, which lead to a smattering of comparisons with the writing of other games. An internet without tangents is like a day without sunshine. -

I think its all relative. Blizzard may not be great writing when compared to a SCI fi channel movie of the week, but its pretty brilliant stuff when compared to Bethesda. Games generally have a pretty low bar for writing/story quality anyway, since the focus is usually on gameplay not narrative. But even within the game medium there is a huge variation. Planescape may be on the upper end of the game writing scale and then Oblivion and FO3 are on the sub-literate end. Blizzard is probably somewhere between. -

WHy are they working on another MMO? Are they planing on killing WoW in the future? -
There's mods for that. I'm only level 10 and have been playing for many many hours. I don't undersatnd why anyone would stick with the default leveling scheme if they can use mods.

That's probably true, but they are just poor Japanese people who honestly don't understand America's over the top political correctness. I live in the US and honestly don't understand America's over the top political correctness.

"Capcom aren't bad people; they're just idiots." lol. No one touches Croshaw in the art of gane reveiwing.

Laserblast is a great movie.

hypoglycemia results in lower than necessary levels of glucose in the blood, and thus requires higher than normal intake of glucose or things that metabolize to glucose quickly. taks Yes. And that's the only time I have heard its desireable to drink fruit juice. But other than suffering hypoglycemia, nobody really needs to worry about adding sugar to their diet. To the contrary, they are far better off cutting out as much as possible, because most people get far more than they need anyway. AT least, such has always been my understanding.
