  1. What's not stable about it? Are you having connection problems?
  2. Please note the board policy regarding spamming: "Thou shalt not spam our forums. Posts should remain constructive and on topic." Nothing in this topic is constructive other than the effects on your rising post counts (which is also no longer applicable in this forum). If topics like these do not go away, the Way Off Topic forum will be closed. We're not trying to make this a bad place, but we ask that you post topics with some form of substance.
  3. Point taken regarding the 'old english', however I don't feel they're too restrictive. In fact, I don't think they're restrictive enough based on this weekend's activity, but that's not my call. I guess one way to look at it is that rules are only as restrictive as the actions taken in their enforcement. "Make rules too lenient, and they will take advantage. Make them too restrictive, and they will still take advantage." Golden rule: Be nice, stay on topic, and everything will be fine. Regarding Interplay products: In my discussions with the devs, Obsidian is trying to focus on itself as a new company. Naturally the devs can talk about old games they've worked on if they'd like, but it needs to be made clear in the guidelines that this forum will not be a support site for another company's products.
  4. The old boards I refer to are the boards that each of you felt had the best casual atmosphere Personally I liked the BIS boards before they merged into Interplay proper, but that's just me.
  5. It's fine in this forum with an incredibly large caveat: If it starts to sound any less than civilized, the threads in question will be deleted, and political discussion will no longer be allowed. All we ask is that the political discussion is based on what you really think, and not just another clever ploy to incite trouble on the borads
  6. Seraphim

    Sup

    That's not very friendly.
  7. Agreed. The max size for avatars is currently 64x64, max 80k. Photos can be in the following formats: .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, or .png. If you try to upload a .tga, .bmp, or .tif, it won't work. Regarding everything else: - Calendar: I'll email the admin and see if he can remove the 'add entry' from the board code. - Photos should be working (I uploaded mine) - You can turn off smilies in your control panel under Board Settings (although it will filter out other posted images too.) - Based on this lovely opening weekend, I'll be working with the admin and other mods on new guidelines. Please note you can access them from any page on the board - Look in the upper left hand corner of each page for the "Forum Guidelines" link. - Skins take a while to make, but if you have suggestions from other boards that might help. I do know this software was modified quite a bit so they'd need to be customized somewhat. - Ignoring user's posts, that's coming soon, but isn't part of the software quite yet. - User titles *are* based on post count. Think of each post as an experience point...
  8. It really just depends on the users - I'd really like to keep the casual atmosphere of the old boards, but some people just like to stir up trouble. Hopefully that will be limited.
  9. I agree. This thread is now closed. If you want to genuinely help and nominate someone to be a mod, do it in a new poll or thread. If you want to bicker at each other, do it in PM or do it on another board.
  10. He has been asked to reduce the size of the signature. A general rule of about eight maximum lines will be enforced here, although under five is preferred. Thanks.
  11. They'll be censored out. The board has a "Teen" rating, which, as the forum guidelines detail, means if it's allowed on the radio or television, it's most likely OK. You can add polls by clicking the "New Poll" button in the upper and lower right corners of the forum pages.
  12. Tigranes is right. It's really up to Obsidian's publishers.
