  1. It's her, Imoen! I know, I know: lame joke.
  2. They did set out to change the world. The problem is that all they didn't actually do anything to accoplish that goal, and to top it off managed to change it nonetheless. Perhaps their message is that the key to changing the world is to do bugger all. In fact, it could be argued that this would fit well with their fascination with oriental religions as it's kind of a poor man's interpretation of taoism. Anyway, don't mind me Baley. I'm just bitter because I'm too lazy to do anything really creative, and spend all my time consuming other people's creativity. On The Road is better than anything I've ever written. My style is better, though.
  3. That's unexpected! I didn't know the Forums needed more mods. She will lock threads with a smilie.

Food for the soul? Who the what now?
  5. It's just that I've always hated Bastila, even when playing the game for the first time. And the fact that everyone and their mothers seem to love her to bits just makes the hate grow more. It's not her physical attractiveness though (she's a meh in that department), it's the fact that I found her an annoying bore coupled with her being a major character in the game. And I thought she was a rather superficial character even for a CRPG. @Mus: Hooray! I know she can still win the poll!
  6. Well yes, I have to agree they were a stepping stone towards newer and, arguably, better things. Still, they did this unwittingly and it only happened because, at least as far as I know, there was no other movement at the time for the younger crowd to follow and admire. I guess it was just that they were new and edgy at the right time. And the poem was A Supermarket In California. It's in Howl. I don't think I should comment on poetry as my knowledge of it is sketchy at best. Anyway, generally poetry isn't my cup of tea, especially the more modern stuff.
  7. Oh, damn. Sorry about that.
  8. Yes, just not quite as cheap as "fast food" generally. They, for those of us in the food industry, are generally called "quick service resturants". Basically, it costs a bit more, takes a bit long and are generally more sit-down & to-go oriented then "drive through oriented. The quality is generally much better tho. Example: http://www.bajafresh.com/jump.jsp?itemID=0...mType=HOME_PAGE Then there are your solo/mom&pop places. As for doritos, I havn't had one in years (I'm willing to bet I'm the "healthist" eater on these here boards), but they are effectively crack. How about a restaurant that is not a franchise business of some sort? You know, a place that serves home made food.

    But I love you.... :'(
  10. Don't think I don't know their work and ideas. Just today I did a test which included Kerouac's On The Road and a poem by Ginsberg. They kept complaining about american society, its materialism and the way they were stepping from the "true american roots". But they offered squat to solve or change these problems. In fact, all they did was runaway from their own problems, get high and think highly of themselves while doing diddly squat. Bottom line they were all talk, nothing else. On The Road sucks. I do like Burroughs, but he wasn't really a beat like the others.

It's kinda like tattletale or snitch. Specifically, it's something my dad used to call me, because I was always trying get my mom against my him and vice-versa. Mostly,I did this by telling on him (or her) or by taking something one of them said and twisting it to make it seem offensive to the other. Also, the word is related to PIDE, the portuguese secret police back in the days of the dictatorship.
  12. Damn, I really hate the Beat movement. Bunch of annoying halfwits. This post is just to show you. Silly prog hater.

Just to point out that I have a new username. (w00t) I can't thank Fionavar enough.
  14. @clarkfball101@yahoo.com: See first line of my previous post. Lock, please.
  15. First, there's a thread (here) where you can post KOTOR 3 suggestions. Second, when posting try to write something that makes sense and is in english. Finally, glotches are indeed a big problem in KOTOR 2.
  16. (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) :faint:
  17. That's awesome!!!! (w00t) Where will that happen? And will they play Invisible Touch?
  18. And they were so incredibly awesome. Listening to (in my head) : Genesis - The Battle Of Epping Forest
  19. She's still hotter than Bastila. But of course, who isn't?
  20. You kinda look like an Oblivion character. With sunglasses.
  21. Are there places in the States where you can have a cheap meal that is not fast food? And why does everyone seem to eat Doritos like they're covered in orgasmic powder?
  22. THANK YOU. I can't stand all these people who call it a masterpiece or "Kubrick made that movie, how can it be bad?!" I have a friend who is annoying in that if its something high class or considered a classic, then he has to love it no matter how much he hates it. Like he refuses to read novels that aren't considered classic literature, no matter how good they are, he'll only drink the best booze, and when we rented this he actually fell asleep like an hour into it and when it was over declared what a great film it was. The Shining wasn't a very good movie either. I liked Hero though... if you're talking about the Jet Li movie. I think it could be argued that 2001 suffers from pace problems towards the end, but other than that, I do think it's a brilliant film. As for The Shining, I think it's incredibly directed and impossibly creepy right from the start. Even the scene where Nicholson's character is interviewed manages to be amazingly scary. Edit: Oh, and your friend is an idiot.
