  1. ...that right there be what's wrong wit' the gamin' community today an' where the "dumbed-down" effect comes inta play...noone wants ta play a well written, well designed 40+ hour cRPG anymmores...theys want gore, eye candy, an' li'l else matters...more's the pity...a FO or PS:T style game will'na sell, an' that truly be a sad thing... :'( ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... There are also a lot of people that just don't have the time for 40+ hour cRPG.
  2. But he wasn't a hero. He was just a guy with amnesia.
  3. And Arcanum, Bloodlines, ect... Okay, I can agree with Bloodlines, but definitely not with Arcanum.
  4. I don't think Fallout has too much text. However, every casual PC gamer I know (and many hardcore gamers too) thinks it has too much text. Not to mention that they also think RPGs in general are too time consuming.
  5. The only "recent" RPG I can think of that didn't have a "stupid hero plot" was Torment.
  6. It was still too text-heavy for most people.
  7. In my experience, most gamers don't want to read when playing their games. That would kind of destroy any hope of making a mainstream Fallout style game.
  8. I wasn't asking you specifically, I was just throwing questions out to see where they landed.
  9. No, not at all. It's just that Sony managed to beat Xbox 360 sales without even trying.
  10. Well, I wouldn't say Fallout was made for a mainstream market either. By definition, a Fallout styled game is not usually directed at mainstream game players. The question is whether they can make a Fallout style game profitable today, given the rising costs of game development. What game mechanics made Fallout a successful game and how would you implement and change them to adapt them to today's gamer expectations? Would a more open ended NWN2 do the trick?
  11. So what you actually want is a non linear game which gives the player numerous options, and has a dialogue system like Fallout and the IE games? You wouldn't mind if it uses first person view or has real time combat, for example?
  12. If non linear with lots of options is what you want in an RPG, you can't go wrong with The Elder Scrolls.
  13. Especially, if you consider that PS3 demand has far exceeded supply.
  14. You mean like The Elder Scrolls games - non linear, lots of options. :D
  15. Did Epiphany procreate or something? Edit: Apparently, the Japs think the PS3 is a bargain, as more units have already been sold in Japan than Xboxes 360.
  16. Irma Thomas - Time Is On My Side
  17. I'm gonna go with 8. For reference, I would give a 7 to both KOTORs, a 6 or a 5 to NWN1's OC, and a 9 to BG2, Torment and Fallout 2.
  18. Yay! I was wondering why you hadn't said anything about it yet. Rosapaeda - Pizzica
  19. It works in more recent versions of winamp. Try this: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MP4_In..._for_Winamp.htm Edit:You could also try playing it in WMP. It should download the codec automatically.
  20. I think this is great. The less people in the army, the better.

80s? Good old ways? The big special effects craze in blockbuster movies started in the 70s with two huge blockbusters: Star Wars and Jaws. And anyway, if you're watching movies for the story and characters and the writing and the directing, you should stay away from blockbusters anyway.

Holy ****! @Ramza: This is based on a comic book. That's the whole point.
  23. A cover of a song from Noddy by Moonspell. Edit: It's Make Way For Noddy
  24. Alice Portuguese flick. Pretty good.
