I like the new synthwave quite a lot

For some reason my working out is on a downward spiral. I train just as much as before, look the same as before but I don't have as much strength as I had this summer. I have a theory its a seasonal thing. Other than that I found a Turk on ebay that makes lovely gun grips and I'm looking to spice up my P38 with some ivory looking grips. You have to hand it to the Germans, the thing is '43 production and after a bluing my father applied it looks as new 72 years later. I believe only the recoil springs were changed in that time. In fact, I was surprised how impressive it is in comparison to some brand new steel guns - a CZ75 I've handled in the shop looks downright crude by comparison. The extremely expensive SIG P226 looks a bit better than the CZ but the grip plastic has mold lines all over and the aluminum frame doesn't exactly scream quality even though the gun has a good reputation (US Navy Seals etc.).

But even with all this weaponry its not clear how things actually stand on the ground and just how much the Syrian army is capable of right now. Half a decade has passed, even the Wehrmacht was in tatters after that much time.

Out of the entire soviet/russian arsenal I like the Mi24 Hind the most because it looks so ****ing mean and it has an impressive operational history. The kamov ka-50 heli is also awesome but it hasn't seen nearly as much warfare.

Why would Hungary have any higher rape stats than any other country in the region?

Stop reading people's fantasies and wild speculations on the internet. That said: It is illegal in Sweden to keep records of ethnic heritage of people accused of or convicted of crimes. It is true that in some of the most segregated suburbs (there probably are three or so in Sweden) harassment of people with "improper" clothing could occur. Still, this is something which COULD happen, and the harassment would take the form of someone shouting something at you. I've walked with a tailcoat on through some of the "worst" suburbs of Stockholm without anything happening at all. Anyways, 99% of the things you read are probably outright lies, cherry-picking, or a mixture of both. That said, refugees have lately (talking the last year or so) become a huge short-term economic burden. The amount of money spent on juveniles coming to Sweden without their families is comparable to the collected expenditures of the entire state of Afghanistan, I've heard. For something you deem "fantasies and wild speculations" there are dozens of people passionately claiming this very thing that seemingly get nothing out of it. Are they all racists then?

It's the means by which some people cope with the lack of agency in their life by making themselves believe that those who suffer "had it coming". I can understand it, but unfortunately those in power benefit the most from it. See if the people your government oppressed care when they come knocking. Most of the people in my country didn't even vote for the current party in power (they had 24% of the vote but got over 50% of the seats), there was an outcry against bombing Syria that ended up preventing the current government from doing so, and were lied to by Mr Blair about Iraq (who most people want arrested for war crimes now), but you are right they won't care when they come knocking just as those your government have oppressed won't care either when they come knocking for you. The only people who won't suffer from all this is the very people responsible for it all, it'll be the schmucks like you and me that pay the price. The former Ottoman empire conquered, ruled (and terrorized) my country and the region in general for several hundred years. When the Turkey of today starts shooting down Russian planes one way of seeing it is that they're knocking on that imperialist door again in which case my attitude (going from historical experience) can only instantly shift from cold indifference to outright enmity. Strictly speaking I harbor no ill will towards any Turk or anyone else, but as far as their presence in Europe goes - once was more than enough. Naturally, its all politicians moving pieces on a board and the innocents who pay the price, but when all is said and done, some pieces are more dear to me than others.

I find the whole rape topic interesting. When one reads the anti-immigration articles, its one of the most prominent topics. The right is very insistent that muslim immigration is directly responsible for a huge spike in rape cases in nordic (and other) countries, and that the police and media purposefully omit the ethnicity and religion of the perpetrators on a regular basis to protect the whole multi-culti fantasy. Additionally, the punishments are usually extremely lenient. I've also read reports from women that harassment of native women walking around (not covered up) in the streets by muslim arabs and blacks is a regular thing. I can't tell how true this is because we do not have large numbers of muslims in the capital and most of those we do have are the domestic (Bosnian) type and they are far less religious and extreme than north-african/middle eastern types. And anyone molesting women in the way I've read is a regular occurrence in countries like Sweden would end up in pretty bad shape when word got out. I wonder if there's anyone here from a Nordic country who has first hand experience to comment on this.

How are they a great civilization? Lasted for a little over a hundred years and little more than barbarism and military conquest as its greatest achievement.
