  1. Father Bruce I confess I have lusted after my neighbours ass, but it is a very fine and strong animal. Edit: South Park "sexism is bad m'kay" as a tagline? Semi literate grammatically challenged ramblings?
  2. More importantly what should the taglines be for the next thread dedicated to the SJW's preaching at us like we're remedial ten year olds? Now there are obvious ones such as: Check ones privilege, self righteous, sayeth the preacher, but i'm thinking something more humorous may be warranted, pot calls kettle, speck of dust in my eye and a log in thy own, proto fascists, Goebbels would be proud etcetera? I think the forums could come up with some better one, any suggestions?
  3. I wouldn't say I don't care overmuch, more that I operate from a dispassionate point of view, as a cold hearted Englishman should. I thoroughly enjoy a good argument, stretch of the cerebral muscles so to speak Bruce. Anyway goodnight all.
  4. No Ineth i'm strongly against any such private institutions especially based on something as arbitrary as gender, but i'm not offended old chap, i'm rather a mild mannered individual. Does anybody else find it deliciously ironic that Mr Lightfoot's thread has effectively segregated the SJW's from the rest of the forum? I am personally in favour of starting a new one when this one reaches a post count limit, perhaps called the "Pulpit" or "Sermons from St. Bruce's?"
  5. Not really a concern on this forum in my experience, but asking for private spaces in order to not get rape threats and unpleasant things like that seems to me like something motivated by a desire to be able to function like the rest of the group (who usually don't get rape threats by virtue of being male). That is running away from the problem as far as I am concerned Aluminium, if one wishes to combat such a bully then one demands that he be brought to book for such offenses, and the forum provider has a duty of care to ensure that you do not suffer from such again. Running away and being segregated according to gender does nothing about the situation, merely maintains it and certainly does not grant you an equal experience.
  6. I'm sorry, but I have to agree with Paradox about that. Discussing this very matter over dinner with Mrs Nonek. As far as I am able to see, barring an unfamiliarity with English, no one on these or any forums are inequal, we are all treated equally and have the same rights so the comparison is a poor one. However the short person is merely asking for the same rights so that he or she may function like the group, simple equality, rather than having new shelves built especially for him or her that no tall person may use. There is a very large divide between segregation and equality. And now one is sulky and childish, if this continues I shall shrug and have another sip of tea. Actually i'll do that anyway, please continue. Edit: The only people I take responsibility for are my wife, children, staff and some members of my extended family, personal responsibility is an oft overlooked and unfashionable choice, but I have always championed it.
  7. I am hardly dwelling on the insults you enjoyed Bruce merely asking the gentleman to refrain from them in the spirit of good discourse. The mods of those forums have a duty of care to everybody whom frequents the place, it is their responsibility to police the place. As I said earlier creating artifical gender discriminatory hiding places does not tackle the issue, it merely allows the status quo to continue as you wish it to Bruce. If there are gender based groups it is a sign of failure and lack of oversight, if only one gender is treated differently that is inequality pure and simple, both are short term measures that merely mask the problem rather than deal with it. If there is abuse then deal with it as such, if there are threats then deal with them as such and if there is "offense" taken at a little banter then let the offended deal with that themselves, and give back just as good as they recieved. If there is a difference of opinion then let lively free discourse under the sites guidleines ensue, rather than being strangled by offense that one cannot foretell will occur, or one simply does not mean to cause. Edit: Women are not special, they are not delicate and they are not of a different species, they are the same as us and should be treated as such in most matters, other than the obvious. And with that you'll have to excuse me ladies and gentlemen, it's my turn to make dinner, good evening.
  8. You don't need a club of your own.Yo You need to change your behaviour, and that of fellow men, so that people don't feel the need to have a separate safe space. No I don't need a club of my own and neither do women, artificial seperation achieves nothing but one group having preferential treatment because of their gender, it feeds and adds to the problem it is trying to tackle. As for changing my behaviour, I am nothing but polite and civil to any and everybody, and always have been. Changing others behaviour, that is most certainly not my responsibility but their own, and the site they are upon if in a virtual construct such as this. Yes Nonek because at the moment your constant suggestion to keep the status quo as is seems to be really achieving the desired result where there are numerous and constant examples of the harrasment and verbal abuse of female gamers. You know the definition of madness Nonek "is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" Whom exactly is arguing for the status quo Bruce? I am arguing for the change and the two genders and the forums facing their problem, rather than hiding themselves away in gender discriminatory forums. This does nothing but exacerbates the problem and allows the abusers free reign within the general space, which seems to be the status quo. This is simple logic. I am most certainly not the individual attempting a Sisyphean task out of pure vanity Bruce, and expecting different results each time. I rather object to being called an abusive backwards caveman, and hardly think I have done or said anything to warrant this title, so please refrain from the abuse Mr Paradox. A solid argument needs neither inuslts nor outrage.

  10. Yes I agree, there's a modern trend of never punishing or having consequences to ones actions in rpg's now, swaddling the player as if he was a child. Seems to go hand in hand with the dumbing down and streamlining of the genre. Personally I regard a game with negative consequences as far more immersive, and usually far more enjoyable and in depth.
  11. The ME type rpg notion has been speculated on before: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/63745-bioware-does-warhammer-40k/
  12. Ultima 7 at #33, jointly placed with Dragon Age, i'm sorry Codex but that is just an insult.
  13. Any army/general may surrender after Bleak Walkers are unleashed, but the paladins explicitly do not ask for nor give mercy/surrender. If a warlord said, "Hey, Bleak Walkers, take out this town," and then halfway through the attack, the ruler of the city tried to surrender, the warlord would have a problem on his hands if he wanted to accept. Bleak Walkers won't call off an attack even if their "employer" asks them to or turns forces on them. The Bleak Walkers believe this behavior is necessary to make it clear what is going to happen when they get involved. Shock troops. One supposes that the dread that they engender is a two edged sword in a campaign, it may shake the soundest moral and yet due to the inevitability of their actions it may also steel a faltering defenders metal. We cannot surrender to these individuals, let us make an end worth fighting for etcetera.
  14. One now knows whom the main enemy of the game is, death to the Kind Wayfarer's!
  15. Isn't Operative the independent specialisation, that is activated by choosing ones own preferred skils, rather than going with the three pre-sets? The custom route if you will, rather than Spy and what have you.
  16. Indeed. I have increased and improved my lifting regime so I can go as Humungus at next years Halloween party. Not that I can match the physique of a professional bodybuilder but I'm actually not that far from it either. Don't forget the singing lessons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4-_L0IOaGM
  17. I've found a description of the Kickstarter backer item, i've copied out the text for those interested. The Bulging Codpiece of Artificial Self Importance. This gargantuan golden codpiece lends its wearer an inflated sense of self importance and achievement, along its side is stamped a runic inscription that roughly translated from the Old Aedyrean reads as "Epeen the Intangible." It is said that the Grand Army of the South, all seventy thousand of them, wore these as they marched into the Dyrwood and helped form a new colony of Aedyr. This was their greatest moment. The Grand Army fell apart after this, pointless bickering and insults were exchanged between the soldiers, and their proud codpieces wilted as they each walked their own path. Some became degenerate promancers, forcing their sickening attentions on anything they could find, whether animal, vegetable or mineral. Some wandered into dark places of forbidden terrible knowledge, and read from the Codex of the Inconceivable. Still others threw themselves to the barren earth, wailing and gnashing their teeth, their durability had disappeared and its departure left them feeling empty and brittle. And in the night dark pits of the Armoury, where terrible weapons and stout armours were forged a great cry rose up, the breastplates of the Grand Army were insulting and degenerate. All these and many more issues served to divide the Grand Army and scatter it to the four winds, but now this Golden Codpiece rests over your loins, and with raised eyebrow you smile at all that pass, secure in the fact that you are one of the worthy. Abilities: Bloody Wolves - D4 Uberwolves appear and attack all within range, your armour and weapons are stripped from you but you gain a massive bonus to diplomacy. The Mark of Cain - A random recipe floats down from the heavens. There are said to be many more abilities, but they were scattered amongst the seventy thousand, and only they can tell of them.
  18. Personally one simply reads all of C2B's posts, the gentleman seems to have taken over from the old information impressario, Flouride was it?
  19. I'm not sure but was one of the rewards a pet of some kind? Personally i'm going to play the GOG version so achievements are totally inconsequential to me, if I could swap them I would. Anyway good luck Mr Darius.
  20. Father why are you eating my sweets? I am collecting taxes child, you're welcome.
  21. Slap the child forcefully, pick him or her up by the nape of the neck and roar at them that sweets are not called "candy." Then sell the child into living death in an Abyssinian slave mine. But with regular beatings and verbal admonsihments the child should really never be lifting their eyes or talking.
  22. Yes I too am looking forward to reading this, Mr Avellone's novella and all the other stuff, but to reassure the obvious nerves of Mr Kirsch: Don't worry so much sir we are merely sat here, the many tens of thousands waiting, watching and judging you with the anal thoroughness Mr Swayer knows all too well we possess. No pressure.
  23. I must say, one of the finest illustrations of a Slayer I have ever seen. Edit: Don King Cat?
  24. Watching Mr Scott's latest editing of Blade Runner and i'm still split on why he feels it is undoubtable that Deckard is a Replicant. He is stubborn, tenacious and logical but he does not seem to be as intelligent as the Genetic Engineers who created him. As for his physical presence, there's no doubt that Harrison is in good shape, but surely a Replicant made to catch others would have similar or even better specifications than even Roy, and certainly be able to deal with Priss and Leon. I simply don't buy it, and prefer the uncertainty of D*ck's original novella, though generally I think the film is better.
