Nothing about Oblivion's magic system was overpowered. Try a mage in morrowind and then move to oblivion. It's like moving from college to kindergarden.

Maybe they're meant to be tough (as in taking damage) rather than physically strong. I mean, how strong do they really need to be?

Not all games are real time, just like not all games are turn based. Everyone has their preferences.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the gun. Talk about an eyesore. Hopefully the weapon is as customizable as he claims and you can make it smaller somehow.

Speechcraft is a pointless skill. Level 25 Illusion allows you to make a +100 point charm spell on a 5 second timer. Disposition is automatically 100 when you use it. The game wasn't balanced.
