Ok, looks like this thread has outlived its usefulness.
Why don't we just wait and see.
Hopefully we'll get more concrete info on F3 in the near future.
Blanketworm?
While some might agree with him on some of these, and others don't, let's not resort to namecalling.
Edit: Thread pruned a bit. Or insults either, please.
I wonder, would it be possible to "fake" this?
I.E. using outside terrain with an "underground" ceiling as it were, then use careful terrain molding to make cavern "walls"?
Neeshka was awesome and you know it.
Say otherwise again, and I'll have to crush your logic with a well placed "LOL"
Neeshka: Best NPC Ever
*Other than Imoen, Bastila, Dak'kon, Morte, Jaheria, HK-47 and several others of course.
I still can't see how this is a game ender.
That's like saying "oh crap, I can't alter the terrain of the game as I play, it fails".
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't think you understand. You used to be able to do that in NWN1. And it was used often. How else would you elevate a boss underground? It's all flat underground now.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't recall ever controlling the terrain while I was playing.
Which is what your complaint read as, at least to me.
Since you called it a "game ender".
48 of these seem nitpicky and just wrong.
I'm playing NWN1 right now, so this is all fresh in my mind.
I do agree with two of these though.
Monsters... there... could be a few more.
But as I recall NWN didn't have that many until later with expansion packs.
Feat submenus.
OMG yes. This would have been nice.
Beyond those two... you're kidding... right?
Far enough that I'm not sure I'm going to start again.
About the end of chapter 1... so about 1/2 way I guess.
Ah well, I've beaten it once at least, and I bought NWN1 Platinum today, this gives me an excuse to play and finally beat the older game. :D
So... the toolset can corrupt things also?
Don't worry Mus, I'm on your side. I'd much rather get EXP (if that's one's motivation) by doing stuff of substance and completing quests, rather than just perpetual killing of monsters.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Agreed.
BG did it right.
I'm hoping Mass Effect will have some of the same format, since the game looks to be huge. It can't possibly be ALL about the main story.
Your character isn't an orc though.
It also depends on context.
For "civilized" people it'd be evil.
But for the Drow (for example) or a harsh barbarian culture, it'd be acceptable. (but still seen as "evil" by the civilized lands )
One definite failing of the Alignment system.
I'm an explorer too, and I felt like I was drowning by the end of the game... well, end of chapter one anyway.
More optional content, and even chapter distribution would have been nice.
That's what I love about Fallout 2 and Baldur's Gate... so many optionals.
