There must be something wrong (in a good way for me) with how I play this game. I think I will easily spend 100+ hours on my first playthrough. Planning to find every location, and complete every mission I can + the small fetch quests from different people.

Wich consoles do you own? NIER was great for PS360. Surprise hit for me. Action rpg, but you don't get skill points at level up and no armor. You do get many different weapons that you can also upgrade later in the game. You can also equip "words" for better attack, defence, stunning enemies, etc. I recommend it because of the music, story, characters and boss fights. Just don't expect the best looking game.
