  1. There's also a bunch of non-standard strategy games that are pretty good like Commandos, Desperados, Freedom Force, Dungeon Keeper, Evil Genius...
  2. Try Flotilla or Gratuitous Space Battles or Defcon Other than that you might want to try Homeworld, Company of Heroes, Red Alert 2, Supreme Commander or Ground Control.
  3. Probably one of the dreaded CG trailers
  4. Maybe Square-Enix's marketing plan has scheduled "release screenshots" at some later date for some obscure business reason. What ever the case may be, the game is still around a year off, so I'd keep the hype level at minimum.
  5. I'm sure there are other reasons to show stuff behind closed doors, but obviously one of them is that the publisher doesn't feel that the game is ready to be shown to the public.
  6. They weren't showing off the graphics at E3, it was a alpha or pre-alpha build meant to show off the co-op gameplay and general mechanics. Screenshots are mostly to show off the graphics, so they could either release some prettied up fake screenshots or wait until they actually have something worth showing. There's a reason the E3 presentation was behind closed doors...
  7. Total War has a fantastic variety of themes including Feudal Japan, Medieval Europe, Napoleonic Europe and if you order now you'll get the exclusive Colonial America for free!
  8. Maybe they're not happy with the way the game looks at the moment and want to wait until they can post screenshots that can actually do the game justice?
  9. My point is that putting DLC on AP is technically possible.
  10. So you make contradictory posts for the fun of it? EDIT: If you were implying that Steamworks is a requirement for DLC then you are wrong: From Steam's press release:

More commonly known as the dream or nightmare levels. Also, the levels that we don't talk about.

You can get a 14(or is it 21 now?) day trial of EVE for free, it has all the features of the paid game and you can start a new trial any time you want. I highly recommend everyone who hasn't played Max Payne yet, to get it and play through both games. It's a pretty cool experience with story and everything.
  13. Steam has had DLC capability for a while now. As has GFWL, but that's beside the point.
  14. How does the time value compare to lurking a gaming forum on a slow day?
  15. I'd be happy if it get made at all. It was never really a PC-oriented game.
  16. Just noticed that GOG has Outcast. Interesting...
  17. I hear Mirror's Edge is really bad on the motion sickness front as well. Hmm and probably Dark Messiah too.

Community So, how about them discounts?

    It's a great show.
  20. Personally, I don't want a sequel. Obsidian should make more original games, preferably with original settings and more polish.

This is crazy, like a chistmas sale vol 2.
  22. I quit Far Cry 2 in 5 minutes because the camera movements were giving me motion sickness... I think that and FFAdvance are the only ones I sold without playing a bit; I think 30 minutes is usually the "turn off, having no fun" point. You missed out on some awesome healing animations and the cool buddy system. FC2 was a flawed game, but it had some pretty cool ideas.
  23. Not really surprising. Didn't you all play Alpha Protocol on consoles or with controllers anyway?
  24. Having something that shows you which direction to go in is essential to keep the gameflow going in a co-op game, especially with 4 people.

A better question would be if all Valve's digitally bought games still have cd-keys. The download only indie games sure don't.
