Just make sure you make a high intelligence, wisdom and charisma character, they affect a lot on dialogue and that's all the game is about. Trust me, you get much more out from the game like that. I wish I could play it again for the first time too, you lucky bugger Thanks for the tip, I was going to ask for some non-spoiler advice as I want to play the game and get the maximum value

Some people have synonymised the dialogue wheel with the decline of Bioware they have percieved. They should be glad for it, the shortened responses (in the vein of "I want to be a dragon") it displays have provided them with endless ammunition for their trolling. Personally, I don't mind it, they've gotten a lot better with from its first implementation in Mass Effect 1. But then again, my French teacher described me as a classic intellectual subtype who's able to enjoy "stupid" pursuits because he had enough intellicredentials without positing an endless interest in everything "deep". Not sure how accurate he is, but he's always struck me as a pretty astute guy. The main reason people didn't enjoy DA2 is approaching it with a negative mindset. Everybody I've seen approach it with an open mind found it fairly enjoyable in spite of its faults. I agree with almost everything you have said, when I played DA2 I ignored all the nnegative press from many people and looked at the game on its own merit. It was entertaining, it wasn't fantastic but I didn't dislike it. As I mentioned before it had Isabella in it I know Bioware can do better and I am confidant they will

Thanks for the explanation. I am always fascinated by different cultures, another advantage of the Internet is that it is easy to learn about this global world we all live and thrive in. I grew up in a completely atheist family so I was never exposed to anything even remotely religious\spiritual.

For me I think they have learnt lessons. You can see from this blog that Mark Darrah, Executive Producer of DA3, that they are listening to fans and there feedback. http://blog.bioware....ii-inquisition/ So I expect a markedly improved game to DA2. I will be supporting them financially as I do still believe Bioware can deliver entertaining games. I don't think Bioware has learned their lessons, it is more customers like you who haven't. I say this based on how little it is required for you to already be decided upon tossing money at them when this title launches. The two things confirmed, dialogue wheel and voiced protagonist (that can only be one race) is not what I would call lesson learned. But I don't have an issue with the dialogue wheel, in fact just remind me again why its a bad design? Don't get me wrong I prefer the traditional response options like BG2 but its not enough of a reason to make me not buy DA3. Also surly the dialogue wheel wasn't the main reason people didn't like DA2. I thought it was more the laziness in the design around factors like the reused dungeons and creatures just appearing from air. I may be wrong?

First that Crhis Avellsomething person hasn't played Arcanum. Now you haven't played Planescape Torment. I am waiting for the person on this forum who will say "I am playing Hide & Seek for the first time. I am excited to try the playground classic for the first time" You funny Melk To be honest I also haven't played IWD1&2, Fallout 1&2 and BG1 So I have some exciting times ahead before PE gets released.

The one thing I am concerned about is real performance with the Xi3, for example I have 2 GB of memory just on my video card in my gaming PC. How much memory with the Xi3 have in there built-in video card? I know this is a huge factor in the excellent graphic settings I can enable in my games? Does anyone know anything about this

I am about to play Planescape for the first time, I bought it on GOG and will be installing it today or tomorrow with all the recommended Mods from GOG. I'm excited to be playing this classic that people always talk about

Whoops. I think you may be right. I now realize that this technology isn't going to replace the PC, I made an incorrect assumption. It just allows you to play Steam based PC games on HD TV screens, this is actually a good idea. I will be following this concept. What would be the negative with this type of technology from a PC gaming perspective?

You have raised a very valid point, how do you eat such a large burger. What I do is use a knife and fork, I generally don't eat every ingredient in one bite but cut it up in smaller bites and try to put as much as possible in one mouth full.

That sounded interesting. Its always great to catch up with family, nice one. I assume you are talking about Buddhism. I have always been interested in that religion. I am not religious but more spiritual.

I agree, what is wrong with him saying he is an American senator and his first concern is the USA and not Israel? Also I think that many lobby groups have too much influence in the USA political arena . How does this make him anti-Semitic? Anyway I see that Obama has nominated Chuck Nagel. Interesting development, I assume the Republicans will filibuster the decision?

Personally I think that Valve has made an egregious mistake in investing in this type of technology. They should have stayed with what they know and are good at, the distribution of games for the PC. I think they have underestimated the support for PC gaming, people don't want another console mutation gaming platform. So lets see how financially successful this adventure is.

Okay, I'm not sure?

Wasn't CDPR supposed to have a couple of quirky "smaller" titles in the making too (I seem to remember some talk from last fall about an "AA" and/or an "A" games being in the making)? What happened to those, or do I misrecall? Yes they are also making the Cyberpunk RPG, but thats going to be at least 2 years. http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/30/cd-projekt-reds-new-rpg-is-cyberpunk/

I moved from Cyprus to Greece and then locked myself in the basement playing Anno 2070 Metro 2033 is a book by Dmitry Glukhovsky. I heard god things about both book and the game that was based on it, so I read the book. I did not like it. At all. The setting allows for great exploration of society and human nature, as like minded individuals flock to specific metro stations and create their post apocalyptic micro-societies. But while the world and politics of the various stations is fascinating in and by itself, which could have made for a fantastic series of books (or TV series or movie or whatever) even without the supernatural aspect, it is given no depth at all. Instead, the character stumbles from encounter to encounter, like Hercules or Xena in certain tv series stumbled from episode to episode. To make matters worse, with the supernatural aspect, the character does not even need to get out of the encounters through his own effort, as the main plot takes care of everything. While this works well for a computer game, where atmosphere is key. The book is (in my not really all that humble opinion) ruined by it. Okay thanks for the information around the book, I'll definitely skip that one

Shame the book was such a let down. Great setting with fantastic potential turned into... meh... something... meh Hi Melk Where have you been? What do you mean by the book?

Come now Hurlshot you are being a little disingenuous when you imply you don't have any activities that are considered dangerous? What about PC gaming and the stress factor that comes with that, I'm sure you can understand insurance companies wanting to increase your premiums. You do realize how much a broken fingernail caused by slamming hard on that keyboard can harm your overall health?

Yum that sounds delicious

I just finished Metro 2033, I have to say its the best post-apocalyptic game I have ever played. I know its not an RPG so I suppose its unfair to compare it to Fallout 3, F:NV or Stalker (and I loved those games) but the way the world is presented as so unforgiving and brutal makes it absolutely gripping. As I mentioned before in this game just finding a few bullets is like finding gold at the end of the rainbow. I really recommend this game to anyone who wants an enjoyable but tough action game experience.

One of my favorite Turn-Based Adventure/Tactics mix. Great atmosphere, good story, very satisfying combat, cool companions. Go get it on GoG. One of my favorite Turn-Based Adventure/Tactics mix. Great atmosphere, good story, very satisfying combat, cool companions. Go get it on GoG. Gorki and Incubation with Wilderness missions are great games. There was a similar game too which i forgot its name. We were defending some lunar/martian base which was attacked by aliens... It had 2d graphics. Edit: I also have a soft spot for X-Com Aftermath.liked it a lot than previous games and played it for a good time! Hopefully we are some incoming turn-based games coming in 2013-14 Thanks guys, they do sound good. I may just go to GOG and add Gorki to my large list of games

I watched an interesting discussion on CNN during State of the Union where it explained that Obama will be nominating Chuck Nagel as the next USA Secretary of Defense. http://www.theblaze....tary-next-week/ Anyway most of the Republicans are vociferously opposed to Nagel being nominated for a variety of reasons, the main one being that apparently he is anti-Israel. The Republican senator Lindsey Graham said in the same interview that "Nagel has been hostile to a good friend to the USA, Israel" It got me thinking, what has Israel actually done for the USA that makes it such a good friend for some? I am not being facetious and I am genuinely interested. I can understand the UK and USA friendship due to the past 2 World Wars and others conflicts but I don't quite get the USA\Israel friendship, apart from the money from the Jewish lobbyists ?

Nep, do you want me to talk to her. I'll explain to her that you are a nice and decent guy?

Sorry to ask but what do you mean by light therapy and how is that related to your sleeping times? I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, also known as winter depression.Light therapy involves an easy to follow, but strict regimen of Staring into a bright light (10.000 lux) every day in the morning at the same time (9.am for me) for 30 minutes. This is supposed to simulate sunlight, and helps wake you up Also required is that you have breakfast prior to sitting in front of the lamp. You must have three meals a day. at regular times. and you must go to bed on time. lastly you must turn off all bright light sources an hour before sleeping. All of these things are intended to reset your biorhythms. I suffer from ADHD, which means I'm also less sensitive in changes in light(long story, got to do with melatonin production cycles in the brain), which in turn means I adapt my rhythm too slow, which makes me more vulnerable to SAD. Usually you do this end-September beginning of October. Which I did. but anyone thnking I'm keeping my rhythm during the Holidays must think I have no social life. So, after the holidays are over, I usually do it again. To me the difference is between having suicidal thoughts and being happy, which is quite significant. Wow, thats really fascinating, I can imagine you need to stick to your routine so for an outsider it may seem extreme but the positive effects really are worth it as you explained. I had never heard of it before. Thanks for the post
