The All Things Political Topic - Politics is the entertainment division of the military industrial complex
https://www.news24.com/citypress/news/kzn-man-forced-to-skin-a-dead-dog-as-punishment-by-his-chinese-employer-20230905 An absolutely outrageous and appalling story in SA , a Chinese supermarket owner forced a staff member to cut and skin a dog that the Chinese owner was going to have for dinner. He did this as a form of punishment because the employee reported him to our labor department for numerous labor infractions Unions are very angry and they taking legal action against the supermarket owner. This development highlights the continuous problems with Chinese investment in Africa, they dont respect or understand our local laws or culture. I doubt the supermarket owner realized how offensive this " punishment " was but its no excuse

The All Things Political Topic - Politics is the entertainment division of the military industrial complex
https://www.moneyweb.co.za/financial-advisor-views/following-the-yellow-bric-road/ Interesting read about the reality of BRICS and the well known differences between its member countries. Its hard to believe how you can achieve any meaningful global change in the world when you have such different political and ideological views from its members

No I didnt know that and thats not how I meant it For me what " do your own research " means you have multiple sources of information about a subject. And that includes different media sources and also Internet sources. And then you can include lived experiences and books but it depends on the subject Im not suggesting every time someone has on opinion on something they need to reference all those types of mediums Im saying there is lots of credible sources of information in the world but to say " I dont trust any news source " worries me because where does a person get there information from?

But if you dont trust news sources from any side where do you get any information from? I assume you must reference some news sources unless you relying on forums like this for updates which I wouldn't recommend. Rather use a forum like this for confirmation or additional information but you should generally do your own research first

Im going to guess but knowing you I imagine you stay of the your in-laws views and opinions of the war, thats just prudent and makes sense in the interest of maintaining a respectful and peaceful relationship? I have mentioned this before but I dont generally engage or dispute any political or ideological views with my extended family members. My close family yes but not for example one of my bothers wife's family. And I also put religion and certain SJ issues in that camp There are so many other constructive and happy things to talk about, for me its not worth getting into arguments when I am not going to change there opinion anyway

And that was really because of the worry with nukes falling into the hands of the ANC and unfounded fears that they would use them in some sort of Communist or other extreme way. So SA only got rid of nukes because of concerns with the new untested leadership. I can understand the concern even if it was unnecessary

Whats the difference between Neo-Nazi groups in Russia and Ukraine, from a Russian war propaganda perspective why would you want to denazify one country but be fine with the same groups within your own country? Putin is fine with Neo-Nazi when they support him and his autocracy. Here is a good link that discusses this reality in Russia https://www.latrobe.edu.au/news/articles/2022/opinion/russias-long-history-of-neo-nazis

What You've Done Today - We do not remember days, we remember moments
I remember in one of the townhouse complexes I stayed in one of my neighbours had 2 cats which she loved and treated them really well but she was often working late and there was an elderly couple who were always at home and one of cats started visiting the elderly couple who loved cats and the cat ended up adopting the new family and spent 80% of its time in there townhouse even when the original owner was at home

Not really, thats not what most people expect when you have opinion on the invasion. This gets repeated but its not accurate What most people who support Ukraine would assume is ideological consistency and the same level of outrage we witnessed when the US invaded Iraq. Remember the whole " the US lied and invaded a country, bad warmongering US " !!!! But you dont see that, we find endless justification and whatoutabism from people who support Russia like the 3 big N lies I dont think anyone on this forum is like that but its exists on places like Codex

That looks really good and Im hoping they finish this game, Im excited because I was starting to think this game would be vaporware And one positive already it looks like there are hot women in it which means woke influence isnt dictating the artistic and aesthetic direction of the game . That will be a nice change

I hear you but I think there are a couple of considerations, firstly I disagree that the interviews that Daniil Orain does arent relevant to the overall views of Russians in general and how things are in Russia In fact I would argue they are one of the most effective and revealing ways to understand the psyche of normal Russians and there views on the state and the war, he interviews literally hundreds of normal citizens in different parts of the country and asks them questions on a range of topics. And he also doesn't just focus on big cities like Moscow which is relatively removed from the consequence of the war I consider the responses to be often more insightful than anything we get from most outsider sources of media or opinion pieces and Im not dismissing all outsider sources that often we post that are relevant and accurate. Im saying the lived experiences and views of Russians still in Russia are relevant But I do agree what the Russian education system is trying to do is egregious and very worrying for the future of Russia and how they will view and understand the war. But many Russians dont trust the state anyway, for example they only achieved a 55% vaccination rate which is one of the lowest in Europe And this was despite the fact the Russian state was saying " take the jab, Sputnik good ". The Russians arent like the Chinese who generally dont question anything that the CCP tells them So in summary I dont think creating revisionist history from grades 10-12 is fundamentally going to change the cynicism or lack of trust many Russians feel about the direction the country is going. That doesn't mean anti-war laws wont be enforced and Russian citizens will publicly criticize the war and Putin himself Thats a given but thats an outcome of the draconian laws around the autocracy that Putin has created. But that doesnt mean thats what all Russians believe. There is a difference
