I'm really excited about this game In 1986 or so Steve Jackson came to South Africa for a book launch tour....it was badly advertised and my mom and I were the only people who met him at a university ....so we had a one on one meeting with him. He was a very nice guy and told me that Sorcery was suppose to be 6 books Its weird, I must have last played that series about 20 years ago but I remember so much about the entire adventure...I think I even remember the 4 lines of poem you need to leave Khare and the code was 241 ? At the final book in the Mampang Fortress you had to find all 7 serpents in the previous book or I'm sure you couldnt finish the game ?

Sorry Volo but there is no middle ground here, if you dont support the sustainability of the EU in some form then you dont support the West Nothing wrong with that...but then maybe you should find common ground with Zora or Oby? I know the ME is always looking for good friends

Another one of my very good friend is immigrating to Oz so we had one of his farewells tonight ...it was a boy night We hired a taxi and went to various bars and ended up at Hooters, most people were wasted and went to a strip club but I decided to head home It was a great day, loads of alcohol and reminiscing about the times we have shared

Jaded can I ask you a question and please be serious when you respond Do you not think the EU is significant and what do you think about the sustainability of the EU? Okay, serious face on. I am actually very much in favour of European countries uniting in terms of working together economically and working together on defense issues (much more so than we are doing currently). I am in favour of open internal borders, and I wish people here could move from country to country as easily as United Statians can move from state to state, with the caveat that they have to work for local wages - not for way under minimum wage like Polish truck drivers do. In practice it is much more limited here though because this is only easy to do for jobs that do not require native language skills. When it comes to the EU, I'd like to quote myself (yay, narcissism) from something I wrote somewhere else (no really, I'm actually just being lazy): "I would first like to state that I voted in favour of the trade agreement, and that I am far from the sort of Eurosceptic that froths at the mouth at the mere mention of Brussels. The truth is that this referendum was never about Ukraine to start with, and as such it is completely inappropriate that the people in the Ukraine should have to suffer because of it. However, I feel quite strongly that the blame for this sort of thing happening is that there is no other outlet for people to engage in dialogue with the people who make the decisions within the EU. Many people feel that the EU is like an unstoppable train that they have no influence over. And as much as the media would like to focus on the Dutch at this moment, this a feeling that is shared throughout much of Europe. Frankly, it isn’t helped by the national governments who vote in agreement with every EU decision every single time, yet when they stand for national elections pretend that all the EU decisions were forced upon them, thus cleverly avoiding having to answer to the public. As such, there is a definite democratic deficit in the EU that has to be addressed somehow, or else things like this will keep happening and eventually enough people may be disgruntled enough to press their governments to leave the EU, as may happen soon in the U.K." Thanks for responding, so its fair to say you are more happy with the EU than unhappy?

You joking hey Volo?

Is it like the books...so do you have to fight the Manticore and find the riddles in Khare? Are there Red Eyes in the city...

OMG.....I loved this series of books, I must have played them a dozen times. I still remember almost everything about them like the Seven Serpents I'm going to check this out now

Thats interesting, now if the rules committee decides to not recognize Trump I imagine there will be huge outcry from the Trump camp...wouldn't that be the realistic outcome? I may not like Trump but it would seem odd with all his success in the votes that he isn't the nomination

Games you want that'll likely never exist
BruceVC replied to Barothmuk's topic in Computer and Console
He's thinking of George Ziets' BG3 'pitch' from a while back. That had you at big e Epic levels and potentially fighting Cyric. (BG3 as in actual sequel to BG2/ToB, not Baldur's Gate: The Black Hound unconnected to and non sequel to BG2, because we can use the name in other words.) Thats right, yes that is what I was thinking about Good memory Zora -

Okay, I just googled this and you right I thought the narrative was about Cyric and your battle with Gods....but I was way off https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldur%27s_Gate_III:_The_Black_Hound -
My hat .....I love Bethesda games but the thought of playing any Bethesda game without Mods is a foreign concept to me

Geez...I'm playing W3 now and its amazing Its hard to think of a Fallout 4 being even better than that ? Its not. Not even close. Fallout 4 is the Cawadoody of Fallout games. They removed most of the C&C, removed stat based dialogue choices, removed skills, etc. Basically the only RPG elements are dialogues and equipment, and the only choice you really get to make in the game is which 2 of 3 factions to kill. Oh okay....and using Mods? Do they save the game at all?

I know you joking but the EU is very important and relevant The EU is an example of how many other similar blocks of countries outside the EU can create political unions to achieve economic prosperity for its citizens For example the African Union wanted to achieve what the EU has done Some of the "negative " realities of being in the EU are certain issues all Western countries in some way or the other has to grapple with ...you are held to a higher standard and there is an expectation how the EU needs to conduct itself that leads to domestic frustration as its only the EU that is trying to adhere to a higher moral ground For example the obvious development around all these refugees arriving in the EU....many people in the EU feel they have some sort of obligation to take in these refugees. It will vary from country to country but IMO why should the EU have to do something that not even countries in the ME are doing? I have said this many times but its a bizarre situation were Sunni Muslim countries in the ME like Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar wont take any refugees yet the EU thinks it has to But I still believe the EU will ultimately become stronger from all this as degrees of multiculturalism are a good thing, it just needs to be managed If ever there was a cheerleader for dystopia, you are he. In what way? Is Dystopia the right word to describe my views I looked the word up as I wasnt sure of its exact meaning an imaginary place where everything is as bad as it can be I dont think things are bad in the EU at all...I believe this is just a level of social transformation but the EU will persevere

For me any new game with the same depth and length like BG but set in the Forgotten Realms would be great The only issue I have with a potential Black Hound is we are now talking about VERY high level characters from the beginning, I would prefer to start at level 1 and be able to go to level 25 or so And there are so many other exciting regions in the Forgotten Realms it can be set in a dozen or so places -

What a beautiful thing democracy is in a nation with a King! Yeah....I have to be honest I'm not sure why 30 % now requires the Dutch government to possibly reconsider the deal Yes I know its there law but I would think maybe 45-50 % is a more significant number?

I notice no one has suggested some sort of Romance\SJW RPG Basically the underlying narrative would be about a character who wants to Romance every possible NPC in the game but at the same have to support numerous SJW causes ....we throw in a large amount of white male guilt and the game would be very exciting Who is with me !!! -
Only if you want to ruin it. Would pictures of really cute guys be acceptable....or still inappropriate

So... Netherlands has a population of 31,05? I might consider moving there if that's the case. I hate crowds. What I don't understand is why you say it's a joke, considering that turnout was over the 30% required by law to be binding. Doesn't that mean it's rather the referendum law that it's a joke then? What happens if the turnout doesn't reach the minimum threshold, the gov't can do whatever, or do they have to repeat it over and over? Regardless, how come most people you know didn't even know there was a referendum to begin with? I went back and read the article and its not binding this vote but the Dutch government may have to reconsider the deal which it already signed with Ukraine The 30 % threshold just means the vote is recognized ...but not binding I must say I misunderstood the article the first time I read it

Yes I am a mind reader....we have discussed this and I'm sure you agreed ?
-
Volo lets find some common ground here? I would agree that society generally takes the side of a women when she says " I have been raped " ....but thats not the same thing as the legal system finding the person automatically guilty ? Question for you, why do you think people like me tend to believe a women when she says " I've been raped " ?
-
No But the fact you don't give a " flying hoot " is because its not a big deal and this is credible because you are Dutch citizen If there was serious vote for the Netherlands to leave the EU I'm sure you would give a " flying hoot "
-
Good points raised TN, its important when we debate these events that the actual citizens of the countries comment as I would consider your views credible
