Yeah, I can believe this. Most Americans are far too critical of the election system...it seems to work fine most of the time?

As usual you raise some good points, we do want to spread Western values but I recognize the political reality that some people live. We can't implement Western values straight away... unfortunately we know this doesn't work. So to avoid what you talking about why do we assume that this Apple device hack that was used will ever be seen on the Internet? Seriously lets be honest, there are software viruses and code hacks created by cyber-espionage government divisions that people dont know about, there such things as data that is secretive? Lets say the Israelis created it...the source code will be very well protected as the Israelis know how to make things secure So I can argue there is no real risk with this hack getting into some dictators hands This is actually a very good point...and extremely relevant, I missed it completely We already have far too much of our personal data on PC...and we know with programs like Prism the NSA really could hack your PC. So does accessing a device really make that much more of a difference?

I would say that they come from so called "good place". They just want to have access to devices in ways that let them to get information from them that they need to solve crimes in fast and easy way, they don't necessary think what risks come with things they want and what they mean globally. FBI has asked backdoors, skeleton keys, etc. things for same reasons in past. Fair enough, I get your point about the potential abuse that may happen in the future ....I still think you have to weigh up the reality that encrypted devices are used to plan acts of terrorism and do you believe your government has a right to access those devices implicated in a terrorist attack? For the answer is an emphatic and unquestionable " yes..as your government needs to protect its citizens and this is clearly an example of information gathering which is very important to state security when dealing like many global threats...like Islamic Extremism "

Yes Apple in my view did display arrogance, intransigence and was unhelpful towards the FBI ...and now they want the FBI to give them what they wouldn't give the FBI It doesn't seem reasonable ?

How do they patch what they don't know? Or are you saying that Apple has been aware of this vulnerability the whole time and just never bothered patching it out? Company that has over 50 billion dollar cash in their bank account can buy that security company (and with it they also gain information about said vulnerability) if they can find said vulnerability in any other way No, Apple is not sure how the FBI found this information out They will do there investigations but it will be difficult if the FBI doesn't tell them how especially since the FBI has the actual device Also Elerond this is not about money...not at all There are people who do support the FBI and believe what Apple did was wrong, these people would also work in the software security industry and would happily help the FBI crack the Apple device because they believe this is an issue of state security...and they wouldn't be interested in selling there technology to Apple or helping Apple undermine the FBI They aren't motivated by money but follow a greater calling...the security of the USA Our tech news reports all say that it was security company from Israel, that FBI contracted to hack the phone. Also lots of technology, software, law and USA analysts believe that there was bigger game behind all of this where FBI tried to use public support from terrorist strike to get precedent that would allow them to force tech companies to break their own security systems. Israelis...interesting. I can believe that as the Israelis have some of the most experienced hackers in the world and some Israeli hackers are state sponsored I heard that story about the FBI trying to get access to all devices through public fear...I find it hard to believe. What would be the purpose of this ...seriously? To keep the Democrats in power...to ensure a new USA political order could come to power, to usher in a new reign of mankind ? That theory starts to sound like a conspiracy theory IMO

I would guess that Apple works like MS and patch things only when they become public knowledge, because they don't really care about security of their customers they just want look that they care. Thats also not true, I use to work at Microsoft and I can promise you Microsoft does care about security and creating patches to fix security holes in there products If there software gets hacked it undermines the credibility of there products and thats something no software company wants

Firstly I have never said "the refugees are beneficial to Europe "....I have said consistently things like " it was a mistake for Germany and Merkel to invite the refugees " But I dont have an issue with Germany or Merkel because they meant well and what is done can't be changed, so we can't go back in time to change the initial offer to invite the refugees. So instead of just complaining and having unrealistic suggestions like " the EU should just dissolve because of this " I believe in practical solutions. We cant send the current refugees back so real efforts have to be made to stop any additional refugees from arriving, like this new Turkish deal, and then the current refugees that are in EU have to absorbed into EU society..and yes I understand this is difficult but you want to avoid the refugees ending up living in ghetto communities, being unemployed and living off social security I have always also maintained that a small percentage of refugees will commit crime...so obviously the crime rate in an EU country will increase...this is not the same thing as me saying " " you must be happy with increased crime "...I am saying its inevitable but its not all the refugees who are committing crime So no I'm not Trolliing, my argument is logical and based on the reality of the situation You are constantly trolling or - excuse me - you are idiot.# 1) it never was intend of any nation to create ghettos - these people created them themselfs 2) Turkish deal - EU will return refugees to Turkey where they get turkey asylum and turkey citinzenship in exchange for no-visa access for these people to EU. Wow, what a great deal we are going to pay for! 3) Stalin meant well as well - but few millions of people died in process - bugger I know 'Mean well' doesn't mean i dont have problem with it even if I agree with 'higher good' that may come from it. If I rephrase your comment: But I dont have an issue with Germany USSR or Merkel Stalin because they meant well and what is done can't be changed, so we can't go back in time to change the initial offer to invite the refugees invade east block. So instead of just complaining and having unrealistic suggestions like " the EU USSR should just dissolve because of this " I believe in practical solutions. Are you really that blind that you dont see it? ** Sorry for derailing this thread - back to gender equality please Why you calling me an idiot ? I dont debate with people who are so blatantly rude

Yes, I agree Its about the capability of the FBI to gather information...they should not share these types of strategies considering the degree of cyber warfare that is ongoing against the USA and the West generally
-
Do you think the FBI should share with Apple how they did it? I don't think they should, I was watching an interview with an ex-FBI operative and he said the FBI won't reveal these details especially since he felt Apple had "sandbagged " the FBI and had refused to cooperate So FBI found vulnerability in security measures of device that is used by tens of million people but they don't want those to be fixed because they think Apple was not nice enough with them. Sounds like they really want to protect public from the criminals It may sound unreasonable but the FBI normally doesn't reveal to the general public how they gather information. So even though it may be seem selfish and narrow minded the fact they wont tell Apple how they did it has more to do with there general security policy than this one example

You have misunderstood my point about increased crime in the EU due to refugees I am simply stating the facts, some crime will increase to a certain degree in the EU due to some of the actions of the refugees. This is already the reality, I'm not sure why you have an issue with the actual crime statistics? But this doesn't mean the EU will now collapse or that the foundation of the EU will become undermined due to " Islamization" I still cant believe you are not really good troll, your posts always trigger me soo much! You really cant believe that **** you are posting xD What exactly don't you agree with? That there is a level of increased crime in the EU since the refugees arrived or that this doesn't mean the EU will collapse...because both are true?

Personally I think its a little embarrassing that there no are NO active female members on this forum We dont have even 2-3 ? Its something we should be trying to understand and or change....people don't seem that concerned ? Do we know there are none? I was under the impression there were some women posting on the POE forum that I've never seen here in WOT. (That's without getting into the whole self-identifying issue with anonymous message boards ) You probably right...maybe our female members actually post in other sections Remember Squeaky cat? She was cool No. Bruce doesn't even understand women, which is not the problem, since we all are pretty clueless. The problem is he thinks he does. You must have missed his material on strippers and overweight girls. No I dont understand or know everything about women and you I doubt you will find a single post I have made suggesting that But I am not clueless either Yea... you kinda are. All 2nd and 3rd wave 'feminists', SJWs and 'White Knights' are. Well as I have said on numerous occasions I don't really support " Internet SJ "much anymore and terms like " SJWs and 'White Knights " exist primarily on the Internet...I don't see them as that significant or meaningful when it comes to addressing real issues. These words are more divisive My SJ efforts are more based in RL issues and issues directly relevant to South Africa and the African continent

Why are you repeating the exact same post you made in the Apple post ?
-
I'm not sure if you being serious...I would hope you are but somehow I think you being sarcastic? But the salient question about this topic is " does the FBI now share this backdoor with Apple " ? Because there is a valid point that says " no as Apple refused to help the FBI and why should the FBI tell Apple something that will diminish its information gathering capability "
-
Good question, I would spend time with family and friends but since my family and friends are all over the world I would have to use something like Skype that is collaborative and allows me to chat with people in different locations The good news is I have very few regrets or things I need to apologize for as I have already done this So I would just use the 24 hours to discuss the good times

http://news.sky.com/story/1668534/fbi-cracks-san-bernardino-attackers-iphone This is quite an interesting story that I have been following. As most of us know the FBI have been trying to access encrypted data on one of the San Bernardino attackers iPhones. They requested that Apple assist them and Apple refused, the FBI has now found a 3rd party source to help them decrypt the iPhone Now the FBI doesn't need to ask Apple and the question is now " should the FBI reveal to Apple how they hacked the iPhone " For me I think Apple should have helped the FBI immediately when they made the initial request as state security events like this is more important to me than privacy So I support the FBI and there endeavors to access to the information on any device if required as part of an ongoing criminal investigation

Its important in life to always try to get a different perspective on issues and for me a female perspective often adds balance Its not always right but its very relevant to having robust debate...and why do we see ourselves as " know-it-all pseudointellectual geeks" ...do you see yourself as that, I dont see myself as that ?
