GD made me think about something related to comics In the 1980'S and 1990's I use to collect comics, mostly Justice League and Legion of Super Heroes and but also Flash, Spider Man and others Anyway I still have several hundred in my cupboard and I only want the Conan comics. I see there are avid comic collectors on this forum and I'm happy to give them away for free as long as they looked after So who collects comics and what type, these comic are mostly from the 80 and 90 I will divide them amongst people if there are many people who want them

Is that true ? Werent comics originally very political and the early DC comics were about American heroes in WW2 as WW2 was ongoing So it wouldn't surprise me if comics nowadays had an underlying political theme?

But if people had ignored her KS campaign instead she would had barely got money to make one video, instead of couple hundred thousand dollars. So her fame is mostly product of internet trolls. Although you need to credit that she was quite skillful to use that attention that trolls gave her to her benefit Yes of course there are certain systemic issues within gaming culture that subjectively discriminate against women or rather there are real examples of women being subjected to a level of abuse.in some cases So for someone like Anita this was initially the way she achieved a reasonable following ..she tapped into a certain reality So I get the KS campaign and why people supported it ....but as time went on it just became a constant attack on white, gamers Yes some of you guys at times didnt help the situation but by the time Alexander made that Gamasutra article the whole "lets just make assumptions about all white males" mindset was way out of control You must read that article now and replace white male with Muslim, Jew, Women or any other minority or group and see if it would have been printed. Yes, she also had a level of support from certain websites who also thought they were doing the right thing by promoting her views I can understand that as SJ and things like gender equality generally people want to support as its a positive thing ...but once again there is something corrupted and unnatural about a gaming website that forgets its actual duty is to review games...its not there as some sort of equality barometer in a game like Witcher 3

I'll be honest, I automatically supported rise of anti-GG in the beginning because I assumed both Anita and Alexander were raising real issues. I support RL SJ so I assumed this was the same ...and the whole Zoe Quinn incident is real However as time went on, say a few months of this pointless and interminable arguing in the GG thread, I realized I was wrong....in fact I and many other people who believe in SJ were part of campaign of manipulation that Anita and Alexander were largely responsible for I felt angry and embarrassed that I had been fooled ....and you know what I had been mistaken about ? Any meaningful SJ campaign cannot be about the marginalization of another group, this is irrefutable And at its core the whole Anita\Alexander objective is about an attack on white, males..and to make things worse its a demographic of white males who are not necessarily going to address the criticism in the best way which was what they were counting on Now because of Apartheid I couldn't conceive of white males being targeted...but they were and its wrong

Although, interestingly enough, that's the least infurating video of hers that I have seen so far, although of course it still contains her usual favorites - showing scenes out of context (the footage Mass Effect footage of Miranda, for instance) to reinforce her point and claiming that doing the exact same thing to men doesn't reinforce stereotypes and is therefor not to be considered a proper balancing of the issue. She also leaves out the fact that the male gaze trope in itself is also enforcing a harmful stereotype against "straight white male" gamers. Why dont you think the USA and other countries is a target for terrorism? USA and other countries reign far more terror on their own and other citizens than any supposed 'terrorists' ever have. I don't worry at all about the boogie man. I worry about real tangible threats to my well being and existence. No one but my government has ever pointed a gun at me, extorted me for thousands, or harassed me (in any meaningful way), and I've so far gotten off one helluva lot lighter than many others out there, who are dead, rotting in jail, or just had their lives majorly )#@(ed with or even destroyed in some other manner (IRS, loss of loved one, had their house droned while they were away, maimed by police, etc).
