  1. Yes he did believe that, its not as insensitive as you suggesting and he clarified this on several occasions and he had ideas around how to reduce gun violence But he fundamentally believed in the 2nd Amendment Millions of Americans do and its unfortunate we conflate the rampant gun violence and its causes in the US with the right to bear arms
  2. The Charlie Kirk killing is really unfortunate and sad , he had 2 young kids and its yet another example of the rampant gun violence in the US and how some extremists on the left and right believe the best solution if you disagree with someone politically is to kill them I watched several of his Campus debates and as usual with this type of commentator I agreed and disagreed with him on different topics But he was very good at engaging with young people and lots of young people on both sides of the political aisle use to debate him It will interesting to see who shot him when he is caught because it could be an extremist from any one of several groups because Kirk would have angered several different groups of people that could include anti-Israel group pro-Palestinian group BLM group Radical Left group Neo-Nazi group Mentally unbalanced person
  3. Nothing surprises me around Russia's warmongering and provocations anymore but they denying it ...which is the normal response from Russia
  4. Yes, this type of greed is not a good start to this game At the very least include all the clans in the vanilla game Charge for DLC once the game is out and confirmed to be worthwhile considering its tumultuous development history
  5. I enjoyed Hogwarts, I dont remember any of that political ideology\commentary being significant in the overall narrative I never read the books but I watched all the movies and I thought they did an excellent job at creating the Hogwarts world with its lore It had lots of fun side activities like exploring Hogwarts, Merlin Trials, breeding animals and broom races and it provides a massive open-world to explore Spells make combat interesting and varied and I like the crafting where you do end up looking for ingredients And the Companion side quests are nuanced and interesting, like Sebastian's sister quest The enemies became monotonous, you can only kill so many poachers and Ashwinders but that wasnt enough to detract from the fun factor of the game
  6. Im about 45 hours into Fallout 4 and my Life in Ruins mod collection and Im still loving it Outside of all the improvements this mod collection makes its hard to beat the fun of an open world and sandbox game that Bethesda ultimately excels in This mod collection makes the game harder around survival mechanics and especially the economy as I mentioned I have also added some new mods using MO2 and I have had mixed results. Some of them work and some dont but Im reluctant to start troubleshooting too much because I dont want to break the mod collection experience where everything works together in the list. Thats why you not suppose to add mods to a large mod collection So Im just leaving it, its not serious mods anyway. It was just some Romance and extra companion mods
  7. @melkathi Melkie my stepmom is leaving tomorrow for a 30 day overseas holiday, 7 days in London and 3 weeks in Greece at Paxos and Corfu Have you been to these islands, anything you can recommend outside of the normal advertised tourist things?
  8. I wish international waters were respected but its often not the case The Houthis have been targeting ships for 2 years now in international waters and you will find people who justify this criminality and support it
  9. I use to sometimes follow the various Romance discussions when Bioware had official forums and I remember the whole " Tali sweat" debate It was just one thread on dozens through the years but it always seemed to get the most attention and criticism It was really just an example of an unusual topic that only some people participated in and yet the entire Bioware forum got labelled because of that in a negative way Now you have specialized forums where people discuss that type of content and ideas freely like LoversLab You just separate those topics from the official mod forums like Nexus and it works well That topic on Loverslab wouldn't bat an eyelid now
  10. That does look good, I remember reading up on the narrative and its very interesting Not your standard Vampire game
  11. Okay, you amongst friends here You can be honest, I also love those AI girls apps How much you really spend on handbags and shoes?
  12. Protests in Democracies nowadays are not precursors to insurrections or civil wars to overthrow unjust or authoritarian states So its not the same as the reality of what caused the Boston Tea Party Protests are almost always about a law or societal reality or unhappiness with a failure around something that government is doing They not about overthrowing the government like we saw in the Arab Spring
  13. Here is a more detailed gameplay video for Bloodlines 2, its 11 minutes and covers some more detailed mechanics like decapitating combat skills that certain clans have and different dialogue outcomes around your play style Its making the game look much better
  14. Protests dont have even have to cause a stir like traffic disruptions to get a message across Many protests get live interviews and media attention which is very effective around what the protest is about And in South Africa many protests end up with a memorandum being handed over to some government representative at the end of the protest march Those are all constructive outcomes of protests
  15. Of course, the idea of burning a flag is hypothetical because I know no one on this forum would burn a flag or be involved in criminal acts like looting and vandalism during a protest With the exception of @uuuhhiiwho clearly doesnt know that a protest can absolutely be peaceful and you dont have to break the law
  16. Here is a quick 6 minute Bloodlines 2 gameplay video It seems okay, I will wait for final release to see how good this game really is. Im a little reassured but not much
  17. How are things in Denmark, are you still enjoying it and spending time with family? Are you planning on staying, also how is your Danish? With you living abroad for so long can you still write and speak Danish fluently?
  18. The principle of the belief in what the flag signifies in the new South Africa doesn't change The old flag didnt represent the whole country but it had significance, for example South Africans died in 2 WW under the old flag We are opposed to anyone burning the flag Its a pity in many countries like the US the flag is taken for granted and burning it has just become a form of outrage protest " Im angry with my government ...lets burn the flag and make sure its on SM" I am very glad I live in country where we respect what the flag represents but we still criticize government and vote for different political parties
  19. https://www.barrons.com/news/s-african-court-finds-radical-politician-guilty-of-hate-speech-c0784bef Julius Malema has been found guilty of hate speech, lovely. Long overdue but better late than never. Its his party that sings the song " kill the Boer, kill the farmer " " At a rally in 2022, Malema referred to a fight two years prior between members of his EFF party and white parents at a school accused of holding a whites-only dance party, telling his supporters that "killing is part of a revolutionary act" and "you must never be scared to kill Seized by the South African Human Rights Commission, the Equality Court ruled Wednesday that Malema's remarks "constituted hate speech... as they demonstrated a clear intention to incite harm and to promote or propagate hatred". The remarks were an "exhortation to kill white males who had participated" in the 2020 incident and to respond violently to racist behaviour, the ruling said."
  20. So your posts are more less the same question We have different views on what a flag represents and thats because of where we live For me a flag doesn't represent the government or its policies , it represents the country and its history. Governments come and go with election cycles but your country is forever If people want to burn images of Trump or the GOP thats fine, thats your right and choice In South Africa our flag and what it means is very significant because we have only been a new Democracy for 30 years and the old flag is considered very offensive and hurtful because of Apartheid So even if you personally dont think a flag matters it really does matter on a deeply emotional level to many people outside the USA like in South Africa We also allow people to burn flags in South Africa but I cant recall a time where anyone has ever done that and if they did like you see in the US it would be be immediately and deeply criticized by almost everyone. I cant imagine anyone significant defending it because of the importance of what the flag represents Last year before the national election the DA created a political advert where the flag was burnt and then restored, here is the actual advert. Its not even a real flag burning but a metaphor around politics and this created a massive amount of outrage And this was our presidents response just to this advert, so you can imagine how our society would respond if a real flag was burnt https://www.gov.za/news/media-statements/president-cyril-ramaphosa-condemns-undermining-national-flag-party-political I dont think people should face jail time for burning a flag but they should be fined But the main point is I dont support any justification for burning a flag because it represents the country and not government policy which of course you can criticize
  21. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/08/prosecuting-burning-of-the-american-flag/ Trump wants to pass a law where burning the US flag can get you prosecuted I support this and I have never understood how this type of behaviour was normalized and fine You can get angry with your government and protest legally but burning your flag goes too far " Our great American Flag is the most sacred and cherished symbol of the United States of America, and of American freedom, identity, and strength. Over nearly two-and-a-half centuries, many thousands of American patriots have fought, bled, and died to keep the Stars and Stripes waving proudly. The American Flag is a special symbol in our national life that should unite and represent all Americans of every background and walk of life. Desecrating it is uniquely offensive and provocative. It is a statement of contempt, hostility, and violence against our Nation — the clearest possible expression of opposition to the political union that preserves our rights, liberty, and security. Burning this representation of America may incite violence and riot. American Flag burning is also used by groups of foreign nationals as a calculated act to intimidate and threaten violence against Americans because of their nationality and place of birth."
  22. The Ali G interview with Trump has become one of my favourites, this was way back in 2003 and before Trump got involved in politics Its classic Cohen parody and its why he is my funniest actor, Its even funnier because we know how Trump acts and thinks now and you can see how annoyed Trump gets
  23. https://united24media.com/war-in-ukraine/what-are-the-new-us-eram-missiles-ukraine-just-got-that-threaten-every-russian-base-400-km-away-11024 The US has approved the sale of new ERAM missiles to Ukraine. Good news for Ukraine and its defense against the Russian invasion "ERAM is essentially a hybrid between a cruise missile and a bomb. It has a strike range of 240 to over 400 kilometers (150-250 miles). Ukraine has only a limited number of comparable long-range strike systems, notably the Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles and domestically produced drone missiles. The delivery of a large batch of additional missiles will further strengthen Ukraine’s defensive capabilities. To reach distances of up to 400 kilometers, ERAM is equipped with an engine with a flight speed exceeding 700 km/h. Known technical specifications include: Approximate range: 463 km (288 miles) Flight speed: at least 763 km/h (475 mph) Accuracy: within 10 meters (33 feet) Weight: around 227 kg (500 pounds) The weapon was designed as simply as possible to ensure it can be launched from Ukraine’s existing platforms—specifically, aircraft. It can also be equipped with additional systems, including the Quicksink guidance head. With a range of 400 kilometers, ERAM dramatically expands the list of potential military targets for Ukrainian aviation, both inside Ukraine and on Russian territory. Within reach are all occupied territories and Crimea, allowing Ukraine to strike Russian military personnel concentrations, depots, railway infrastructure, supply routes, as well as air defenses and radar systems. Airfields and Shahed drone launch sites would also be vulnerable. "
  24. At least items worth less than 100 Euro will still be sent so that means letters (who still sends letters???) That's a positive at least
