  1. Austria must be one of the few countries where many citizens seem to think mass testing, which is a proven and known strategy to understand virus spread, is a bad idea. What exactly do you suggest your government should be to understand the virus in your country as you have made it patently clear you are opposed to mass testing? And just to answer your question, yes the Austrian approach makes perfect sense to me
  2. I am sure you will be fine either way but let us know what the result is and my thoughts are with you
  3. What a strange understanding of how most legal systems work? Assange has a history of avoiding facing his day in court. Remember he skipped his bail, which is illegal, around rape charges in Sweden which was why he camped out in the Ecuadorian embassy for years He now faces charges in the USA and again he is refusing to face his day in court. No one is saying he will be found guilty, as I keep saying unless you think the US justice system is broken and cannot be trusted, because if the evidence is lacking or unconvincing he wont be charged It seems to me you believe people just dont have to go to court when they break the law or commit a crime. So to correct your spurious comment, I believe exactly " you go to court to prove your innocence " You clearly believe " you dont need to go to court if you charged with a crime, you just use your privilege and status to avoid your day in court" Great world you live in Majestic where famous people can avoid justice
  4. That is a good point, Epstein committing suicide might have been a factor in this decision A pity but it cant be ignored if you argue that from legal perspective if you are Assange's lawyer
  5. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/julian-assange-u-extradition-turned-115719791.html That is a huge disappointment and a bad decision. I see its because of his mental state So what? The USA has plenty of people suffering from depression in jail and they fine. I have an uncle incarcerated for being involved in financial irregularities after 2008 and he is also depressed but the law is the law The USA is also a first world country and Assange shouldn't be treated differently to any other criminal just because he is " depressed" ....yes amazing how people become depressed once they caught or face extradition. He wasnt depressed for years when he was leaking damaging confidential US cables At least this case is going to the SC where hopefully they will send him to the USA to face justice. I also dont consider the US a banana republic and if he has nothing to answer to then he will be found innocent ?
  6. Thats fine, its like taking the vaccine. You cannot be forced to do it, I will also gladly be a character witness at your trial because I like you
  7. Just to clarify, the sealing of the meat means you can achieve a chargrilled outside ...more or less But yes the oven cooking means it wont be very rare. I dont grill meat in the oven but cook it for a period of time and you can achieve very rare in the oven, you just keep in for maybe 5-7 minutes, but then I would just a frying pan to achieve that result Oh yes I love my steak sauces but they must be really complimentary like cheese, mushroom or cheese whizz
  8. But many of the Wikileaks are not about possible illegal deeds and actions, they were the confidential views of diplomats and information of the US military strategy in the various arenas in the war of terror like the military missions in Iraq and other countries This is marked " confidential " for a reason and every country in the world has the right for its diplomatic information to be kept private
  9. He is definitely not someone I respect or who any of us should respect, when did Julian Assange become the judge and jury of who decides what confidential US diplomatic cables should be made available to the public? He primarily targeted the US by revealing this confidential information. If he was only leaking Polish government confidential information I am sure you would be very angry and not want him protected because he made his campaign of being a "whistleblower " personal He is no whistleblower as he clearly has issues with the USA and that makes it a crusade and now he must face the consequences of this vendetta against the USA and the "Western " world generally
  10. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-britain-assange-idUKKBN299007 Big day for Julian Assange, he will find out today if he can be extradited to the USA to face justice I hope he is extradited as he has always believed he is above the law and used Wikileaks to target the USA specifically and then hide behind " free speech and freedom of information" The USA deals effectively with people like him and I support the US approach to people like Assange who are involved in espionage and cyber-espionage
  11. Lets not make false equivalences, there is and was violence committed by the likes of Antifa and this needs to be condemned even though it was basically ignored by many because it was politically inconvenient especially by many Democrats Any violence committed by right wing or Trump base must also be condemned but the violence we see during BLM protests doesnt get a pass
  12. I can understand Trump believing the conspiracy theories and misinformation that much of the right wing media is spreading.....but when you listen to his actual understanding of the mechanics of the election it demonstrates the real problem. He really is ignorant and uninformed and its embarrassing that he use to be the the president of the worlds most influential and powerful country "The Dominions are replacing the internal machine parts and shredding thousands of ballots " ....argument. Its clear he is getting updated by the likes of Newsmax and other new right wing media outlets
  13. Rump steak last night with potatoes and a blue cheese sauce, it was delicious I have worked out the best way to cook a thick steak if you dont have a grill because I always prefer grilling and barbequing meat over a fire but we only allowed gas cookers in the flats I stay in You seal the steak on the outside in a hot frying pan and then cook the meat in an oven at about 180 Celsius for 20 minutes. It works well and cooks the steak consistently without burning it than can occur in a frying pan
  14. Gorthfuscious !!!! Im shocked and if I wasnt so loquacious I would be stunned into silence by what you saying Most civilized countries have passed laws where its mandatory for citizens to have watched GoT and Im sure the strict forum rules on this forum are the same as most fantasy forums where all moderators must have watched GoT? I really like you and I dont want you to get into trouble....at least you have started watching the series Gromnir can confirm this but from a legal perspective that can be used as mitigating evidence when you end up in court...either way let me know if you need me as character witness or something similar?
  15. Gorthfuscious !!! Please tell me you joking or I am misunderstanding you....please tell me this is not the first time you are watching the GoT series ?
  16. Interesting statistics and current vaccine deployment outcomes Gorthfuscious , I think its too early to be unnecessarily critical of how countries are rolling out the vaccines.....hey at least some countries have vaccines or they arriving in the next 1-2 months ? That would be huge progress in SA Also thanks for sharing that link, I think links are the best way we can corroborate any information around such an important topic as this virus especially with all the misinformation and alternative facts doing the rounds
  17. Lexx, season 3 of Cobra Kai is on Netflix I am going to start watching it tonight
  18. Happy NY all, here is to a good 2021.....it cant be much worse than 2020 at least Has anyone got any exciting things they did or were able to do for NY? I stayed inside and watched CNN bring in the NY at different places and did some serious gaming
  19. Thanks for sharing, so do you feel the real failure in Sweden is more from citizens not adhering to best practice virus measures? If so that is common unfortunately in many countries, in SA we have mostly a failure of our public health department with its lack of resources and inconsistently in our own Corona policies. So our devastating " first\second " wave is 15 % citizens and 85 % failure of the health department
  20. Elerond how do the people of Finland feel about the Swedish experiment, what is the general view if any? For example are Finnish people disappointed with Sweden, angry that they tried something controversial or maybe they feel bad it failed and Sweden suffered more deaths ?
  21. Great technical explanation, thanks for sharing I wonder how the average Swedish citizen feels about their governments perceived failures at stopping the virus? Because I can understand how the Swedish idea failed now but the average citizen still would have had valid reasons for supporting the initial strategy which means you wouldnt necessarily blame your government for this failure because citizens agreed and supported the same approach. So you would accept everyone simply made a mistake around assessing the best way to reduce the virus spread and not just blame the elected government
  22. I have been wondering how the Swedish herd immunity experiment went, so has it been deemed a failure and has Sweden acknowledged this? What were the outcomes that led to it being a failure if you know The reason I am interested is I remember when they started the experiment and they were heavily criticized but to be fair to Sweden they are a very reasonable and sensitive nation and I am sure they had a real scientific reason it could work yet clearly it failed but I wonder what were the metrics that defined it as failure And then it is very relevant that you mentioned how the Nordic countries responded because as you know your countries really get on well with your " tree hugging, socialist....lets absorb all immigrant " common policies that no one else want to implement What do the other Nordic counties think about Swedens failed approach and what approach is Sweden now taking ?
  23. This is such a classic cute cat photo....I thought initially it was your real cat
  24. melkie it sounds like you were being lazy...you know that is one of the naughty things we dont do ? Please dont make me revoke your Internet privilege's like I nearly did with Mamie...neither of us wants that kind of punishment
  25. No I answered your questions about WHO and how long the anti-bodies last and the difference between vaccine and natural immunity anti-bodies....I am not sure what other questions you have?
