  1. I have always appreciated your stance on human rights and specifically LGBT rights . We may not always agree on topics like economic policy and immigration but I have never questioned your integrity, value system or that you mean well Also I wanted to add I think its great that your daughter has parents like you and your wife because she will grow up in an environment where she will be loved and raised without any discrimination about something that she cannot change because she was born a certain way. Homophobia is an insidious and also a blatant form of bigotry and unfortunately its one of the only forms of bigotry that some countries are passing new or resurrecting Colonial laws, in the case of certain African countries, to discriminate and criminalize LGBT So we should never underestimate the reality of this type of bigotry I just want to add that sometimes people do indeed hide behind religion to spread hate speech and they pander to their own insecurities about other people who are just different But sometimes religious people are not true bigots but they are trying to be good Christians when it comes to the Bible. For example in SA through the years I have heard callers sometimes phone in on talk-shows and honestly make comments like " I dont dislike the gay people but scripture tells me its wrong so I cannot support it " That is different to some of the real hate speech we sometimes encounter from people justifying their bigotry by hiding behind scripture
  2. It was both disgraceful and criminal behavior slapping a president in the face, they need to be harsh and ensure jail time
  3. You make some good points here and I know this is a contentious point and just to be clear I personally support same sex marriage But you can achieve the same objective without trying to change the definition of marriage and how different religions incorrectly think marriage is sacrosanct to them, when its not because people were getting married from about 4000 years ago which is longer than most of our established religions have existed https://theweek.com/articles/528746/origins-marriage#:~:text=The first recorded evidence of marriage ceremonies uniting, little to do with love or with religion. Sometimes people misunderstand the definition of marriage, I dont like to think its because they homophobic because sometimes its really because of their interpretation of scripture
  4. That is why we must continue to debate these topics without making assumptions or generalizations , no they dont need to wave the LGBT flag and we dont all need to " bend the knee " in support of BLM unless we want to and we have our own reasons This doesnt make you a racist or homophobic, other people are perfectly entitled to their opinions on these matters. But people, for example, who support LGBT have different views on this and thats okay
  5. Not in my definition of being homophobic, you dont need to wave a LGBT flag or even say in public " I have friends in the LGBT community. You can even object to things like gay marriage for religious reasons. That doesnt make you homophobic because the law and Constitution decides this for us in most of our countries Its what you say in public and how you act in public towards LGBT that matters, so for example if you go to the local pub and you having drinks with friends and you see a gay couple walk in to the bar....how will you react and what will you do ? Will you walk up to them and start insulting them because they gay....thats real homophobia
  6. I dont know, it was hard to see exactly what its about or to understand the RPG design mechanics . I am going to do some proper research later when I am done with work for the day
  7. Dont joke but I am still irritated he couldn't finish the books, yes I understand he took time off for the exceptional HBO series but he has a commitment to fans to deliver on the books and he needs to respect that
  8. Yeah, Im a little confused by that one but Wormie what do you think of Elden Ring? George R R Martin is part of it so it must be good https://en.bandainamcoent.eu/elden-ring/elden-ring
  9. https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/e3-/ Some good games to be announced at E3 2021, I am interested in the new RPG Sci-FI from Bethesda and additional news about DA4
  10. He openly has admitted he has no idea why people listen to him. But he has said some hilarious things, see the link below https://stillnessinthestorm.com/2021/05/bill-maher-admits-the-left-sucks-the-fun-out-of-everything/
  11. Good to know, I will throw some questions at you if you dont mind in the future. Just to get your opinion and share mine? Mostly the ME and similar conflicts so its your area of study
  12. GD well done for seeing past the blatant and outrageous anti-English propaganda in movies like Braveheart Its fun and entertaining but not accurate and these types of movies always paint the British in this really bad light and some of it is not historically correct
  13. I agree, movies about war and battles must be accurate where reasonable. But they must be correct most of the time and these small things annoy me as well
  14. What didnt you enjoy about it ?
  15. Elerond !!! Why do you hate the free media, it sounds like suggesting you admire the way the CCP handles their " free media " .... the WSJ is a credible and legitimate part of the global free media Opinion pieces are just that but it doesnt change the importance and veracity of the WSJ articles
  16. @Gromnir WSJ is a credible source of objective information in most cases, it would be imprudent to ignore their pithy and erudite words 🤓
  17. https://www.cnet.com/news/twitter-is-banned-in-nigeria-after-it-removes-presidents-tweet/ Guys here is a real example of the damage and problems created expecting SM companies to remove what they deem is hate speech and to somehow understand context of certain comments....you cant expect SM companies to do this effectively , people must take their own responsibility for what they say and stop asking for other people to police our comments The president of Nigeria was banned from Twitter for saying inarticulately , but truthfully, that secession of a particular state wont be allowed. Its a historical and unreasonable secessionist request and it wont be allowed So he was direct but he shouldnt have been banned ?
  18. Kanie you said you have interest in WW2 shows and it seems like you really know a lot about certain military subjects. Have you also done military service or do you have another connection to the military generally?
  19. What about 'Thin Red Line ', its about the Pacific conflict with the Japanese ?
  20. I must say Gorthfuscious now that I understand the context this is really funny and appropriate when it comes to the rhetoric of anti-immigration parties
  21. Nah, you will never have a truly dominant superpower from any government that controls information and its media and doesnt understand the importance of basic human rights China will always have a part to play in the world, especially around production and its exports but it wont become the dominant superpower in the world. So no need to learn Mandarin unless you are Australian....and @Gorthhas already started on this so I dont think Australian citizens mind too much?
  22. I am very happy with this new game world from PB, I would normally prefer a fantasy setting only but I think they have done a good job of creating an entertaining fantasy\sci-fi hybrid Without repeating myself, I want to recognize their well balanced overall game design and sandbox implementation For example, I decided to join the Berserkers and one of their quests was a report on the other cities like The Fort and The Domed City. This forced me to travel initially on foot mostly, teleporters need to be discovered, on this long, dangerous and exciting journey to these cities. I had to avoid certain enemies and sometimes I made my own path until I reached the cities and the teleporters for future use When you say " rough start " what do you mean by that in your own gaming experience ?
  23. Okay I see the funny part, its linked to the anti-immigration party and the fact the camel is called Ali and the understandable concern is immigrants from the ME That is funny, I get it now
  24. I am not sure what is so funny about this particular story but people in the Danish parliament sure found it funny? So an elephant has got an emotional\physical connection with a camel and had to be included in the animal transfer Okay that makes sense, good news story.....just not funny
