  1. https://www.business-standard.com/article/current-affairs/us-sc-upholds-obamacare-allowing-millions-to-keep-health-insurance-cover-121061800029_1.html Guys here is really unexpected but good news , the US SC has uphold Obamacare for the third time This is good news for those of us worried that a more conservative SC would overturn things like gay marriage or the right for women to choose to have an abortion. I understand these are all separate issues but their was this fear that the Trump SC appointees would push a certain agenda @Gromnir You can unleash your prodigious legal knowledge on this matter but keep it simple so those of us who arent lawyers can understand how significant this is. I am interested in your opinion on this Obamacare ruling and arent you happy?
  2. But Dark even if Trump was right about this and the virus came from a lab he still mishandled the entire pandemic in the USA. He really did and it was the inconsistency with addressing the pandemic that contributed to the death of hundreds of thousands of US citizens. Its not all his fault of course, mask denialists and the " deep state " crowd played their part and Trump shouldnt get blamed for that Lets leave the political rhetoric to one side and ask ourselves a question " what difference does the origin of the virus make to how any country handles the spread of the virus within their borders " .....can you think of one reason that this would make a difference? In other words once the virus gets to your country the only thing that matters, until you get vaccines, is following the science to the best of your ability to try to contain the spread
  3. I remember about 5 years ago I started getting this pain in my right side of my chest under my arm that seemed to be come and go and I assumed to be muscle related and was a gym injury from the rowing machine and ignored it Anyway after 3 days I developed this strange rash and that led to blisters appearing and it was one of the most painful experiences in my life....I literally couldnt sleep properly for 2-3 days and the rash vanished but the pain remained intermittently for about 2 months and eventually went way Do you know what is was? Shingles ( chicken pox ) that someone I had contracted despite getting my vaccine years ago https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/shingles/symptoms-causes/syc-20353054
  4. Just ignore him Rjshae, sarcasm from 2133 is his way of contributing constructively towards many debates Its an insecurity and not worth getting annoyed about. Its a pity because he is a bright and interesting guy when he tries
  5. Interesting observation and something I have seen as well with developers. Not all the time but sometimes, women are more disciplined and follow the correct procedures more than men but men are better overall developers, again not all the time but often. And to be honest most of the time I would rather work with people who follow procedures and the structures correctly than work with brilliant coders but lack the interest in being part of the structure But the companies I have worked for and especially in the financial sector their are normally men who make up about 80 % of the total numbers of developers and women the rest What is the overall ratio like in Canada, is it different?
  6. I was browsing through some of the Steam early access comments from gamers and I came across this absolutely hilarious post which I had to share " I butchered a group of refugees in cold blood which turned a Drow lady on so much she immediately demanded sex with me. 10/10 " That sounds like something I could be persuaded to do because Drow women are so hot, oh Viconia my love, my life
  7. I mentioned this before but I never, ever play early game releases or test games. I always wait till its released because then its more exciting So the Ethel encounter was part of the early release I assume, how was that battle and what was odd about it ?
  8. What a great interview, I like Swen. He is charming, funny, charismatic and comes across as very sincere I appreciate his honesty admitting how much more complex BG3 is compared to D:OS2 and it bodes well that Larian Studios has hired 3 x more people to work on BG3 and still has more vacancies for various positions. That hag Auntie Ethel looks like someone I cant wait to fight and kill Good find Wormie, really good find
  9. In what way is it depressing considering how little we really know about the game and its final release ?
  10. That Passmore Ranch looks great and the people involved really committed to the ethos of quality and freshness Its interesting but you often see places like that on Food Network channel about the US. On shows like Bizarre Foods Andrew Zimmerman loves to go and eat the food on ranches and farms specific to the area. His favorite thing is focusing on what the locals eat and eating unusual food like delicious offcuts which I love but they not commonly found in SA
  11. That sounds really convenient and healthy having a local farm to get fresh produce from But are you saying your dogs are also eating these vegetables only and no meat ?
  12. I am fine with understandable and necessary delays, they mustn't release a game that is subpar or riddled with bugs like we saw with the initial launch of Cyberpunk BG is a grand and prestigious franchise and close to most of our hearts. I dont want its reputation to be tarnished by an imprudent early release due to pressure from us fans
  13. Malc did you use a Controller or M\KB when you played Control ?
  14. I can understand some of the resistance to changing the race of certain iconic characters like Spider Man but I cannot see an issue with changing the race of Velma to East Asian, I dont see how that would undermine the show in anyway ?
  15. https://news.yahoo.com/brazen-theft-san-francisco-pharmacy-152506383.html This is unbelievable this video and I cannot understand why the security guard didnt intervene? Im disappointed it happened in California, another example of a basic societal failure to enforce the law where it should have been enforced But at least we know why it happened so its okay, clearly this is because of structural racism
  16. You promise, I can trust you right...I am going to add it to my calendar now. I love barbeque culture. Nothing better than meat and alcohol
  17. Nice, when do I get my invite for a barbeque? I am available this weekend
  18. Since I got Control for free on Epic I started playing it , I am about 3 hours in and I am not sure I am enjoying it and will finish it. It does remind me Alan Wake so I will play it for a few more hours and decide
  19. https://www.iol.co.za/sundayindependent/news/sa-weapons-export-to-saudi-arabia-uae-may-be-breaking-international-law-82029b5c-7e82-41d8-8ed3-1dec8273a8dd The US has also been accused of fueling wars and blamed for conflicts because of the sales of weapons to the likes of Israel and Saudi Arabia. Now within SA the same accusation has been made towards SA arms companies for selling weapons to Saudi Arabia and UAE My view on this has never changed but I am interested around what others think. Should we be vilifying and admonishing any company within our borders that sells military hardware to other countries ? I dont understand why for the following reasons The international arms trade is a legitimate and legal global industry Basically every country in the world buys military hardware and has a right to buy this hardware If the likes of the US or SA doesnt sell weapons to the Saudis or the Israelis then I can promise you the likes of Russia, China , Germany, UK or France will do it Its not the sales of weapons that is the issue but the countries involved in conflicts and how governments decide to use them Their are no international sanctions against Saudi Arabia or Israel that prevent the sales of weapons to these countries so this shouldnt be a legal issue ?
  20. You right, Putin is the master of whatboutism and deflection. You can also see how uncomfortable he is with journalists asking legitimate questions about the targeting and deaths of opposition party members But also talk about a false equivalence, he is comparing the Capitol violence and people being prosecuted with the Russian clamp down on the media and people like Navalny being poisoned. He was asking " why are they being arrested in the USA after the attack on the Capitol " .....that is obvious. They broke numerous laws and stormed a government building and Capitol Police were attacked by members of the mob in an attempt to overturn a legitimate election result. Their should be no confusion why people have been arrested ? I would loved to have asked him " what would happen in Russia if a mob stormed the Kremlin and threatened to kill Russian politicians " ......I can tell you what would have happened. The security forces protecting the Kremlin would have used live ammunition and killed anyone in the crowd wanting to change the normal Russian election results
  21. I must say this post made me laugh and has some truth it I am concerned with the idea that liberal arts students and outrage culture represent the USA and its intellectual and political influence But they dont to be honest, Kaitlyn Collins is very insightful and bright and carries herself very well. She is not one of the " woke " journalists I know you are talking about the Putin interview but she was their at Geneva and was the journalist that Biden " shouted " at
  22. As far as Bidens conference went Kaitlan Collins asked a legitimate question, it wasnt optimistic and I also would have been annoyed by it but its a usual question that journalists would typically ask. But he apologized and later on CNN she said their were no bad feelings. CNN likes Biden and thats a good thing She asked " Ms. Collins had asked the president at a post-summit press conference why he is “confident” that Mr. Putin will change his behavior of destabilizing actions against the U.S " Their is no convincing way to respond to that type of question so what exactly was Biden suppose to say? You have to trust Putin and see how things unfold https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/jun/16/biden-apologizes-cnn-reporter-kaitlan-collins-afte/
  23. https://nypost.com/2021/06/14/woman-killed-in-supermarket-for-telling-man-to-wear-a-mask/ Simply asking someone to wear their mask can lead to you getting shot, that concerns me immensely
  24. Do you think the article is true, I dont want to overreach. Their are several concerning things she was exposed to that are just biased and inaccurate If you read what she experienced I was under the impression that universities are suppose to teach students about critical thinking and to prepare them to work in RL. Thats what the general point was when I was in University but I dont think we have liberal-arts schools in SA ?
  25. What has that got to do with systemic racism as the reason? Your actually supporting my point. Yes we have violence and high levels of crime in SA but it has nothing to do with racism. Apartheid ended in 1994 and Apartheid legacy is real but that is not reason for the crime
