  1. hey, you're right! god bless the community EDIT: it looks absolutely craptastic on my machine. also, that thing about fluid controls and faster response is absolute ****e, it's exactly the same as in DAO only now the animation looks artificially sped up. it's like they're not wearing heavy armor and wielding heavy swords but juggling wooden sticks. so stupid, my god. in terms of control nothing has changed.
  2. oh? a couple of examples, please. the biggest flaws of 4th?
  3. oooh, sounds good, can't wait
  4. any ArmA2 addicts here?
  5. that was a short trip, at least it seems that way.
  6. ok, switch AP with ME2 seriously, I'd rather have them develop the game for another year just to deliver the full cinematic experience. not this half-assed attempt at making a movie on the game's engine they should've been taking notes from SquareEnix. or dump the whole deal altogether and replace it with hand-drawn stills with commentary read by actors. much like in the opening sequence.
  7. if the cutscenes were full-3D, I could roll with that. but the engine ones... that's laughable. even Alpha Protocol looked better than DA2 in this regard
  8. he said nothing to confirm it was about IWD at all, maybe Project Virginia is WoT and IWD3 is in the future plans.
  9. HOLY SHI~ I can't believe it... this couldn't get any better I was secretly hoping for a D&D game, but Icewind Dale?! QFT
  10. actually, I'd love to play an RPG set in the Andes of the 16th century. conquista, jungle, pyramids, the Lost City, overall Aguirre feel
  11. it you mean the first part of that string of videos, then I think it was meant to be exaggeratedly easy just to show how powerful Hawke is thought to be by the common folk.
  12. I didn't find encounters in DAO more tactical than in BG2. and by the looks of it DA2 won't be much of a tactical game either
  13. Final Fantasy XII had some kind of chains or combos I think. but even without combos. hell, even Mass Effect does it. the only problem I see is that in DA2 the party is twice as big, but that can be countered with bigger , tougher monsters and larger numbers of enemies. just make the encounters rare but make sure they last longer and have space for party tactics
  14. very simple, your party distracts the enemies while you take care of them. if they're too tough, you use your party members' abilities to debuff/weaken them. and you switch around to use these abilities. having some way of making combos out of abilities would help too. some games already do it but it's usually very simplistic. Bio has had a chance of doing it right. but that would be too much to ask, probably
  15. qft well, to me an improved combat would be something similar to Severance, with combos you can perform with any of your characters at any given time. it has to be fluid, too. I don't really care about animations, since this isn't important in such a game. the question that bothers me the most is: will the speed at which I click on the enemies affect the speed at which Hawke swings his weapon(s)? because watching the demo it doesn't seem that way. which brings us to this point: why all the talk about the "faster" combat animation if it doesn't do any good in combat other than make Hawke look like a blender
  16. is AP a sequel to ME in this scenario?
  17. yep, it does look boring and overall awful, but we haven't seen the many quests DA2 has to offer. maybe Bio's genius is hidden there. if the combat is what I think it is, I'm gonna pass on DA2 altogether. good thing only a couple of days left 'til the demo.
  18. that's one of the greatest mysteries of human culture for me...
  19. they really went wild on the monsters' appearance.
  20. ok, I tried both games, found demos on the web. while Act of War seems like a Command & Conquer knock-off (seriosly, it has a static camera, stupid health bars above the units, low resolution, and I think live action cut-scenes, too, and overall looks exactly like a C&C game), World in Conflict really made a good impression on me. it feels like CoH, and I remember Ground Control games being very good. I think I'll give WiC a try once I find the full game. anyway, any other suggestions? real time tactical or strategy modern warfare games? preferably something from 2000's
  21. actually, it's a drama. but it happens to have zombies
  22. ok, I'm gonna stop following this LP and try the game for myself. it really looks like a good game and I don't want to spoil it any more
  23. didn't KOTOR come out before ME, so ME would be wannabe KOTOR? oh, wai... I see what you did there
  24. well, now you have a mass-damage ability for all three classes
  25. hah, that's a nice idea. but I don't know if I'd want to play the game like that.
