  1.

    I shook my head today..

A small Christian community on one of the Island of Denmark are all convinced that Pokemon cards are the work of Satan.. And apparently burning cards is now the new craze (pardon the pun) for this little community - Their preacher was healed of a minor paralysis after burning a card and soon the trend spread, healing everything from numbness, pain and back aches..   "Good" to see that religiously fueled superstition is still going strong in the 21st century. I wonder if it's a coincidence that the preacher is American?

Now I'm kind of curious about what type of paralysis was and whether there were any of the chemicals in the card responsible for curing it.

Well, there are people that have psychosomatic blindness, could be something like that I suppose. Or just plain bull****. :)

I know about Amway, we also have them in South Africa. What is your primary issue with there business model?

It's a pyramid scheme as many others pointed out, and have been in legal troubles over the years. Multi-level marketing is just another cloak they use to hide the pyramid scheme itself, and it's sometimes called pyramid selling. Not all multi-level marketing companies are pyramid schemes though, but most of them are since they focus more on recruiting people than selling their products.

Atleast I said no when she asked me to join, before I knew it was amway she was recruiting for, smelled fishy when she told my mother of the costs.

  2. Overheard my mother speaking to a friend of the family and was listening to her being dragged into selling stuff for Amway being placed in the same "team" as my cousin and her boyfriend. After they had finished I told my mother what I knew about Amway and their business model wich pretty much ended in a shrug from her, not being bothered.

I'm very bothered by it. I don't like the thought of her getting tied up in such filth.

  3. 4. A more general point, but bullpup weapons seem to suit smaller calibre rounds. I don't think there are many 7.62mm versions of bullpup weapons knocking about, and as militaries start moving back towards larger calibre rounds we might see the next generation of small arms move back to the traditional config.

There are a few Sniper rifles, DSR 1 for instance, the Russian SVU, VSSK, KSVK and the Walther WA 2000. The russians also have an AR bullpup chambered in the 7.62*39 & 9*39 cartridges.

I think they should keep going with the bullpup style rifles and use the ejection system that the F2000 uses.

    But I'm really biased. :p

  4. What type of cats do you have and how many?

I've got 5 cats, one is a Norwegian forest cat and the rest are just domestic shorthaired cats, some with lynx-like tufts on their ears. :)

I don't have any particular breed preference or something, I do like the white cats we used to have here though, but they're gone now do to castrations and sterilizations.

  5. Dissected a cute widdle bunny wabbit today. Well, watched the teacher dissect one, but I'm told it's my turn next week. Well, actually not so much "dissect" as "partially skin and experiment on it", but still.

What are you studying that relates to dissecting/skinning/experimenting on rabbits?

  6. Pansies is what you get when you switch off Darwin's theory of evolution. Well done humanity!

Well, not really done that, we've just begun to promote intelligence as a trait more needed than the ability to withstand disease and injury. We might se the results of this if we can keep it up for a couple of thousand years. Alpha Nerd is apparantly a thing now. *Shrug*

Let me help. Taxes. Death. That's it.

    You forgot dissapointment.

Now, because I like all of you so much, enjoy the new Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer...

  7. My son is at school and they aren't allowed to fight. Fighting is a massive no-no.

School is feminised. As Tyler Durden famously said, "How much can you possibly know about yourself if you've never been in a fight?"

Instead, the boys are starting to act like girls. They form cliques. They make catty comments. They exclude each other.

Good, actually, considering how poor physical shape people are in generally, most people can't stand up to a proper beating. And if you want people to fight, there are clubs for that. :p

The last part though; Since when was this new? That has always been the case, even if the insults has become more creative rather than brutal and plain, it's still the same **** that people has always done; Formed groupings and insulted eachother.

Also, full disclosure; Born in '85, so I'm part of Generation Wuss.
