  1. I completed my first game on Recruit. Now I can't start a new one on Veteran. What can I do to work around this?
  2. This is my feeling too. How many games have to be published every month for reviewers to show so lazy and not do their job thoroughly (dare I say, ethically)? I used to give reviewing sites some credit. Not anymore, and it is doubtful to change. Now, I tend to check... forums first, or just trust my guts. Dirty little secret, learned from the aftermath of the Star Wars Galaxies NGE, is that the gaming industry press is not only lazy but corrupt. Most glowing reviews at release are bought and paid for. You never see a follow up question in any "interview". When the press actually has to "work" you get crappy not even half assed reviews like we've been reading, released on the first day of the game's release, probably written in 15 minutes after playing the game for 10. This is why blog sites are the best places to go for honest reviews. Listen to other players. Word of mouth recommendations are by far the most valuable.
  3. 1. Mouse optimization, especially for the minigames, the focus and the pointer don't match up well at all. 2. Camera fixes, we need more control over the camera focus and zoom. 3. Ability to increase the dialog timer, with the fuzzy mouse controls and unnatural keyboard controls make it more difficult than it should be to comprehend the response choices before making them. 4. Lighting fixes, it's too dark in places. 5. Sniper rifle, again, because of the fuzzy mouse controls it's harder than it should be to aim. The shiny reflection distraction in the scope also isn't very realistic (I've shot scoped rifles and none of them have this effect), this should be darkened. 6. I'd love to be able to CARRY a sniper rifle as well! 7. Balance changes with the weapons... Pistols are overpowered, SMG's and rifles are probably underpowered. Shotguns seem to be useful only for trying to score a multiple kill.
  4. I do agree that having stats and a more traditional RPG character setup would have been nice, but it actually already IS there, in the skill set. I think the reviews this game is getting is indicative of just how lazy and shallow the gaming press is. None of the reviews I've read so far could possibly have been written by people who played the game for more than 30 minutes. They are writing it based on their experience in the tutorial before they even HAVE skillpoints to spend yet.
  5. I'm through two of the safehouse hubs and I have to say I'm ambivalent towards Mina. I like Scarlett better. Hard to not like an intelligent, super hot redhead, especially with Irish blood in my veins
  6. I was stunned to hear Autograph "Turn Up the Radio" during the boss fight with him. As a child of the 1980's, I absolutely LOVED that part!
  7. I read the reviews, but went out and bought the game anyway yesterday. And I have to say, while there are some rough edges (my biggest gripe is the camera handling, needs to be smoother or more controllable, say allow the mouse wheel to control zoom) I have REALLY been liking it. The story, the plotlines, and the characters are awesome. This game is VERY Mass Effect like, except set in the near future. I think the story interaction may even be superior to Bioware's current model. Where I think people get frustrated though is with the minigames in and just after the tutorial. Maybe the tutorial should be patched to do more hand holding on this. Once I figured this out and skilled up tech, I had no problem with them, but I was frustrated early. Obsidian might want to consider a "bypass minigame" option on the Easy skill level to alleviate complaints.
  8. I'd like to see a M1 Garand added. Or, if not that, the M14.
