  1. http://de.scribd.com...n-Entertainment Apparently it's about a method to automatically lipsync animated charachters
  2. Dark Souls 2 announced New Kojima Game South Park Trailer So far at the VGA's.
  3. While I will do my best to resist watching this abomination of an award show, a new trailer for South Park will be shown. Thankfully, it should be up on gametrailers right after the showing. Hopefully more gameplay this time. Would like to see the UI, though that gets rarely shown in a trailer.
  4. Curse also hosts the offical wiki http://eternitywiki.com/Eternity_Wiki
  5. The Neogaf Thread on the subject has become unberable and crossed lines. Does someone have an account over there?
  6. He's working on P:E though and probably takes on a bigger role there than he did on W2. Not to mention other possible projects. So, I don't think that's a given.
  7. Shame that means he's not coming back to Obsidian On the other hand it's good if InXile gets more talent.
  8. Well, at least if he's no longer working for Obsidian he's going from one great RPG studio to another. Well, he actually got laid off/left in 08 already so it has been a while. Was responsible for the rom-hub in AP. He may have mentioned it, but I can't recall what he did in between but I'm pretty sure he didn't have an industry-job and has been hunting quite a while.
  9. In other news: I just checked out the SA forums and it seems ex-Obsidianitie Patric K. Mills got a job at CDProjekt in Poland.
  10. I thought you were being sarcastic but then you said "a man can dream..." so now I have to ask, why would you want them to make an Xbox exclusive title? Because: A: That's the cancelled game from march. Resulting in the big layoffs. B: Working on an exclusive is really valuable for a dev and in many cases can be a breakout title. See above. Granted that's not really interesting (short-term) for the average Obsidian player.
  11. That may be the next-gen title he was originally brought on to in his resumee. Maybe it got picked up?
  12. I don't really see this hole, but well..... Also I get the feeling you have not really an idea of everything the word "science" entails. It's not just the pursuit of knowdlege. That's one way to use science, but it's not everything. Science is part of the everyday world and is with us any time any place. Anyway, hope we can bury this now. The initial intention is not worth the argument. Edit for definition:
  13. I stopped with my very first post. The rest were defensive (and pointless in retrospect) posts when I was called up to provide some basis for it (which I did). Imagine a world where people weren't allowed to provide comments to topics. At most (and I didn't expect that in the least) I wanted to be helpful. Sorry, if that offended you. Again.
  14. As with every nitpick, no real one. Just give a small information/ minimal constructive critisism. Certainly nothing worth the argument here. Though, I'm quick to defend myself. Edit: To get back on topic: Apart from science- and historical fiction, what gernes would probably profit from more realism?
  15. Third post in a row. Sorry.^^ Just to be clear. It's a nitpick. I do not demand it to be changed as everyone can figure out what BruceVc actually meant.
  16. But just to take something up you said. Every game IS rooted in real world science. Like every narrative. Like pretty much anything humans ever did. It doesn't follow it exactly, of course. But, it's close to impossible to not be. All fantasy world's social, cultural, technological and so on development is at least somewhat based on human history. It's the only template we have. Also, again. I know what you mean. It's a nitpick on the wording. Not what you initially meant.
  17. No, but it very much implies there is *some real* science in the game. *some* Some. And these aren't claims. How are these claims? What? It's broad because the word *science* has a really broad definition. It does not only refer to physics etc. Picking up one of my points. - Do the people in the game speak englisch? If yes... - How is that not some real science? Again, this is a NITPICK on the wording in the title. Nothing else! I'm not even remotly arguing that games or narratives in general are *realistic*. Hell, I agree generally with your opinion and on the space fantasy thing (Which wording you probably *took* from George Ziets formspring, right?)
  18. Just nitpicking, but the current thread title is a little confusing. Because, well. It's kinda obvious there is *some real science* in Wasteland 2. Because, well. That's not really hard. No, it is not obvious that a game with giant rainbow colored robot scorpions (with laser tails,) has real science in it. "SCIENCE!" is not science. It's a fictional trope. And where? Provide evidence of this claim. The burden of proof is on the claimant, not the respondent. There's humans, right? There's the concept of gravity, right? The history is based on the real world right? There was an america, right? There are social structures right? There is an englisch language right? There's my proof. *Science* is an INCREDIBLE broad term. What I meant is just a more specific title. *contain* sounds just, well..... Like: Wasteland 2 to lay focus on realistic/plausible science/science-fiction. And as I said it's nitpicking on an internet forum.
