See, "hopeful optimism"...

Ahh righty. I've only read two of those so far. Horus Rising and Legion.

There's derailing and then there's derailing.... I have to admit, there are those moments of concern over the way they're heading with ME3, but at the moment (even with the demo) I really can't outrightly say yay or nay on how it will handle. The demo was just too.. cut back and didn't really show off a large amount of what the game is about. - okay, it possibly did if everything else is cut back that much, but I can't see that happening - The demo was pretty much just a slightly glitchy shooter with some cinematics. The key elements to the game are the over-arcing story, the dialogue (and the choices you make it in), how the "war assets" gathering and management are actually handled, and the personal stories and how "emotionally involving" the whole combination can be. And until I can actually sit down and play it for a few hours to see how that develops.. I'm going to sit there with the "potential skepticism, but hopeful optimism" for how it will turn out. I'm holding off on totally bitching them out about it until I have a firmer grasp on it all then some previews, spoilers and game journalists talking about it...

Well with Alpha Protocol, I think pretty much everyones filled their views, their likes and dislikes on those forums by now. If only there had been a follow on to it, it would still be going strong. But with nothing new to really talk about, things slow down and settle. There's only so much you can say before you're repeating yourself... Hell, I pretty much wandered onto the Obs Boards purely because of interest in the "upcoming Alpha Protocl" back when..

I have to admit, I kind of liked the whole

Heh, I've just spend the last hour or so helping my sister finish off the Jedi Consular storyline on Tython. My Jedi Knight is still around 14th level so it wasn't incredibly overpowered for it.. Still, when we finished it off she does the "hmm. I might be getting into this game..." Of course, I'm pondering it I should be concerned that I actually seem to be having better conversations with her within the game then we usually have face to face and living in the same house....

Its been bouncing between this and the TOR one for the past few weeks. Tis the nature of what's going on in the general gaming community...

For the amusement value... Rapidly evolving low-cost mobile technology keeps military up at night As the Darpa Deputy Director gives various testimony on "Emerging Threats" , the need to look at the current pace of developing smart phones and the like comes to the forefront.. Heh, it's growing into a dangerous world out there. Wait.. it's always been a dangerous world.

Not out and out laugh out amusing, but some generally quirky furniture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB4bvvyl_ss

Hm, something from IGN's Q&A Mass Effect 3 Preview Report So it looks like you won't be able to amble around regardless once you've picked up certain quests.. That could be interesting. Depending on how well it's handled.

Self-guided-bullets further in process of development....

Well they have said all those times that you'll see a lot of people turn up again as squad-mates if only for one-off missions... so there's that potential. Throw in the whole "romance triangles, and personal conflict" that's been talked about.. I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to fit that in..
-
Ah, but if (as it said) the Ensign they've got there is the lesbian romance for FemShep, then I doubt they'd casually have Kelly replace her. Hm, then again, with the way Kelly was played in ME2...
-
No Hammmerhead in the shuttle bay.. Hm, and no Tali on ship. So looks like she's going to be elsewhere... Wonder if you do run into the ME2 crew in any format as you wander around tho... Kelly or the Engineers mayhaps.

.. Just one serious freaking cursing streak at the pc. Running errands, got home, put the kettle on and checked email. Game - (the company) have just done a "We'd like to thank you for the 8 month preorder of ME3 Collectors Edition. We won't be giving it to you. To say sorry, here's a 5 pound voucher for the next game you order from us." Edit: For any other UK folks who've just been hit by this; http://www.nowgamer.com/news/1264480/uk_where_to_buy_the_mass_effect_3_n7_collectors_edition.html Gee, it's wonderful to hear this so close to the release date.

Random thought - those "missions" you could pay to have influenced via the Shadow Broker once you'd completed it. Odds on whether you'll get any "emails" or relevant effects in ME3 due to them?

Realised I need more focused exercise then the scatted I do each day. Spent a chunk of time running on the spot while out in the garden with the dog.. then realised I could not actually raise my knee up more then a few inches because my thighs were too damn tired.

Might be of some interest to all those talking on the music.. Interview by gamespot with a couple of the composers.. http://uk.gamespot.com/features/sound-byte-meet-the-composers-mass-effect-3-6350923/

No matter how many times hear it.. the conversation between Liara and Sheperd about "omni-gel and that security upgrade" always makes me chuckle. Which also makes me think, the odds of them re-using that car-chase style of sequence in some mission in ME3 or not.. hmm. To ponder.

And to further fuel the pot.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-17184955 Argentina turn away two P&O cruise ships from port. Because a> they're British, and b> they'd been to the Falkland islands.

If I was spending the time playing video games, I wouldn't complain about not sleeping.. Although I did manage to get about 5 hours sleep last night. Of course, then had the phone go as the clocks hovered around 8am and the alsatian came pounding in and jumped on me...

Heh, my sister is finally getting around to installing the copy of TOR I got her for christmas. I mean, she loved Kotor I & II, so I thought give her a free month to play around and see how she likes it. Of course, now she's doing the whole "if I don't like this I've wasted an hour of my life installing this and jumping through all the hoops." - that and using the phone to call me from upstairs and quiz me on various matters about it as she's getting it ready to play...
