Hm, for all the stuff about the benefits of pre-loading for digital purchases.. it always seems to end up taking an hour+ to unpack, and that's after the final download once release time has arrived. Considering that most of the game is meant to have been installed on your hard-drive by now, it seems odd it'll take twice as much time to set the game up as compared to installing it from a physical product (ie dvd). As you might gather, waiting on the Deus Ex to be playable.

Of course the season pass for Deus Ex is rather expensive. And the main two "dlc's" that are coming out several months in the future.. get put into the middle of the Deus Ex game. So, you'll have to replay the game for them to make sense. At least, that's what it seems to read like from the info they've given so far. Oh yes, plus the season pass gives a bunch of in-game gubbins like extra money, praxis points, parts for weapon mods, and stuff for the alternate game version that you can do with Deus Ex. Which does tend to make you shake your head over the whole thing. At least to me it does.

Hm, so Amazon wait until the day before release, when it should have already been dispatched, to let me know they can't actually get any physical copies of the PC Deus Ex Mankind Divided in and they have no idea when they will. But they can always send me a PS4 copy if I want....

R Lee Ermey. Had been a Staff Sergeant in the Marines after something like 11 years of service. Served time in Vietnam, and at some point post FMJ the Marine Corps made him an Honorary Gunnery Sergeant. He had been brought on to FMJ as a technical advisor, but because he was so good at explaining it and showing it to the guy who was supposed to be the DI, Kubrick decided to have him play the full role. Also of note, given Kubricks massively micromanaging and controlling type of directing, Ermey has been one of the few actors Kubrick allowed to improvise dialogue and actions. A massive chunk of the DI stuff were things that weren't in the actual script.

Out of curiosity I plugged my way through the Deus Ex Go game app. A nice enough run of logic puzzled wrapped up all together, and of course they've linked it to the new game by allowing players to "win" extra praxis kits for Mankind Divided by achieving certain things.

And a large chunk of that was purely because of the casting of that Gunnery Sergeant as the DI.

I was puttering around with an ME2 re-play but I paused and got distracted by other things. Now I'm pondering on getting back into it. Or just waiting for my copy of Deus Ex Mankind Divided to turn up in the week....
