Had a group "away day" at work. Eh. On other matters, only 70 days till Star Wars celebrations, and the godawful cold weather and rain has delayed my painting timeline still. So I focused on dealing with some other things, and picked up some Chelsea-style safety boots for my Mando, and then started sewing some half-chaps for it. A few things that didn't quite work, but good enough for now I think. Might add a long strip of wide velcro on the front to help support shin-plates... Now I'll just have to do the other one and set it aside for weathering later.

Juggling some slow work related matters with a bit of cosplay crafting in the background. Small filler use while listening to meetings can be surprisingly relaxing. Hm, although one of my friends who was moving to Arizona is just having a minor meltdown because the rental house just fell through for some reason a couple of weeks before they planned to be leaving the Atlanta area.

Cinema and Movie Thread: I like to remember things my own way.

Yup, that pretty much sounds like some classic tabletop gaming sessions. -
I have been idling along some time doing a NewGame+ run through on Horizon Zero Dawn. Interesting to see how the pacing feels when you know all the story beats in advance. Still think some of those audio and written data-points have some great emotional gut punches in them. Out of curiosity, I picked up Humankind in the sale the other week and gave it a poke. Very much that Civilisation lite type of game, just with the gimmick that every age you can reset your culture to have different goals, bonuses, and specialty building / unit. I think it would flow better if you had a generic name, and then just adopted those bits as part of your culture. As it is you can start Babylonian, turn Greek, then Persian, then French, then Swedish. Just feels a little jarring. It's nice enough as is, and you can spend a weekend filling your hours up growing a civilisation up and such like, but there's nothing gameplay wise that jumps out as that new or fresh. Luxury and Strategic resources discovered as you go up the tech tree, some glitchy diplomacy routines, military units to roam after bandits/barbarians/mercenary units, or engage in warfare with other (AI or not) players. Wonders to build. Influence to spread. Nice enough, but if you've already got a couple of these types of games in your library, there's not much point to adding it in.

This is what happens when you manually quote someone from an audio interview late at night... -

To be fair, JMS was sharing that when he was reminiscing about the passing of some of the B5 cast and his memories of them, especially Andreas Katsulas. -
