It would be difficult to blame Trump if firing Comey was found to be perfectly legal and not obstruction of justice. Can't really blame an accused for a failed accusation, even if the accused is as intrinsically suspicious as Trump. Fundamentally, even an expensive investigation that resulted in complete exoneration could be value for money. That isn't able to be determined from a short executive summary though. An immigrant moving to Australia raises the average IQ of both Australia and the source country -- Piggy Muldoon, slightly paraphrased. Awful PM, but good with the zingers.

Probably worth mentioning Jason Anderson as well, since he was Creative Director where Bloodlines excelled, and he was the third of the 'Troika'. Presumably he isn't involved since he hasn't been mentioned and last I heard he wasn't in the gaming business any more- though that was a while ago and I haven't been paying especial attention. IIRC Brian has said he didn't write all of Bloodlines, just most of it.

Would be even more funny/ ironic if both those MPs causing trouble for Mr Progressive were women and one was a native canadian too. 'Correct the Record' is probably still better known, but it's officially defunct. Shareblue (same one gfted linked to, same guy involved at the top) uses vote manipulation in places like reddit extensively to give anti Trump news the megaphone treatment. They were most obvious when Hillary had her fainting moment on the campaign trail, as all their boosted content disappeared for a day since they had no prepared talking points. I think everyone who isn't ideologically committed to one side would like to see the evidence. I'm not expecting literal exoneration personally, but something more similar to the justification for not prosecuting Hillary for her server faux pas; but I always doubted Trump himself was directly involved anyway.

Rape and forced marriage too- but it's all very obfuscated and cartoonish. VtMB would be a lot more immediate in its depictions since it's 1st/3rd person rather than an abstraction.

I'd imagine a lot of people convinced of Trump's guilt will be hoping that the AG being a Trump pick has lead to some... charitable interpretations for him in the summary. And it will be interesting to see the reaction of the Sharebluers who have been insisting Mueller would be dragging Trump from the White House in chains at the end of his investigation.

The leverage they have is that they can threaten to take the IP elsewhere for sequels. In this case that has already happened though, since MS bought Obsidian in the interim the IP has already gone elsewhere. If PD handling sequels was written into the contract even that leverage would not be there. Walking out of the contract would also be an option, but not a practical one. Except in a very few cases the publisher has effectively total freedom in determining how the game is published because they are providing the funding and ultimately taking most of the risk. A situation like PoE/ Deadfire would likely be one of those different situations as there were obligations to honour KS/ Fig pledges like being on GOG/ Steam and the bulk of the funding was provided by crowdfunding and Obsidian itself- but minus IP ownership TOW seems to be a classic work for hire situation. Phoenix Point shows that even crowdfunding obligations can be... delayed, with enough inducement.

I'm afraid Malkavians are problematic in their depiction of mental illness. (OTOH, that would massively increase the chances of fan favourite characters like the stop sign and tv anchor returning.)

you really don't know anything 'bout logic, do you? your appeal to authority is better than Gromnir's? HA! is not how logic works. You know what else uses an appeal to authority? Pro vaccine arguments! Only medical experts say it's necessary! Anti vaxxers say it isn't based on their child not getting measles. Who could be right, the experts or an anecdote? The people who are actual experts need to have their expertise discredited by evidence, and an anecdotal 6500 miles away experience is not good evidence. (1) it was certainly directed to promote or incite imminent lawless action, it specifically included targets to hit in follow up attacks. (2) the only argument is the likelihood of it happening. And again, I think the censorship is stupid.

Well, it's on Epic anyways. Sure, but presumably the thought process is that if there are 10x the preorders on steam compared to EGS it will encourage publishers to stay on steam. (of course most of the complaints aren't really about EGS exclusivity etc but about it not being on steam. Anyone who really cared about exclusivity or monitoring would be using GOG in preference for a game available there. Having said that, during a sale Bloodlines 2 Highest Price Edition is #1 seller, and it has two entries in the top 4 so GOG sales can't be bad)

Your examples are two anecdotes, one out of context and one personal from 6500 miles away. My examples are the people who live here and have expertise, and include people who would love to ban s/a wholesale if it were possible. Your local example is from someone who regularly controls rabbits and is the equivalent of saying that because someone is who is vaccinated hasn't caught measles vaccines aren't necessary. Ignorance and hubris are your friends, not logic. As for the relevant applicability of the manifesto in the US, what's the US position on manifestos produced by foreigners who murdered 50 people in a terrorist act on their soil? Because that's the equivalent metric, not general free speech. [the manifesto also would definitively fulfill the first part of that test anyway, the only question would be about the 2nd. It was certainly the view of the NZ Police and government that it would incite immediate copy cat acts and potentially revenge acts too, albeit the Police and government aren't exactly unbiased. My personal view is that for 99.95% of the population it would inspire derision rather than action, but then I don't need to worry about that .05% while the government and police do]

Because they would not be making the decision. All PD games are EGS 'exclusives' (iirc the rest are proper exclusives too, with no WinStore, so TOW is already a special case). If you blame Obs management you also have to blame Desilets and the rest of the PD game makers effected equally, and the fact that PD have gone EGS on all titles says it's their decision- or that all the devs involve don't like steam, in which case you'd have to ask what steam is doing wrong as well. In order for the wishes of Obs execs to be relevant they have to be, well, relevant and able to influence PD/ 2k's decision making, in order for Obs management to think it's a good idea Obs also has to benefit from a decision which leaves the largest marketplace. The way that EGS and publishing works the benefit will be PD's. Obs management are not going to throw their game under the bus by screaming publicly at their publisher though. Yes, Avellone is totally legit and beliavable source when it comes to Obsidian and the partners. Oh, wait. He isn't. Avellone uses every opportunity to strike at Feargus & co. Doesn't have to be true, if someone believes him he has achieved what he was looking for. This is also the perfect situation for Chris- who, lest we forget, was singing the praises of PD when he was trying to get them to give TOW the chop. Whatever happens he can and will blame management. If management fights back against decisions they don't like it's Feargus yelling and ruining another publisher relationship while patting himself on the back!, if they say nothing it's typical low energy Feargus, bet he didn't even tell anyone [which is likely prohibited by contract, but hey] about it, SAD!

ISIS is defeated, and for real this time. Still a few holdouts around Baghuz- and technically, they do hold one small defunct gas field in the Syrian desert which nobody can be bothered driving a few hundred kms to take it off them- but in terms of held population centres it's all over. I understand logic fine, and that's what I applied. You're just repeatedly ignorant of the situation, and as usual back up your lack of basic expertise with a series of citations that don't say what you think they do due to that ignorance. You need s/a rifles for pest control because you can shoot 46 rabbits in 2 hours with them, in daylight, in one field and can shoot dozens of feral goats/ thar/ deer/ pigs with them from helicopters- and that's what users, our PM, Police Minister, Police Commissioner and experts all say; and they trump your anecdotal expertise in the field since that field was in Dakota 6500 miles away. And no, logically speaking, that need is not disproved by any one farmer not having to shoot that many because said farmer uses continuous control (which includes... s/a rifles) and is also... one farmer. What you're doing is the equivalent of using someone who has been immunised to prove vaccines aren't needed, what I'm doing is pointing out is that the place with no immunisation in the very same article has measles. As for the state of your logic: "population 60 or 6 million makes no difference". LOL. Please, feel free to apply as a consultant on pest control here. I have a feeling the laugh would be appreciated at the moment. Is incitement to murder minorities legal in the US then? Seems unlikely, but then I'm 5000 miles away so I'm not going to venture a definitive opinion. Personally I'd make it compulsory reading since I tend to think showing idiots to be idiots via their writing is a great idea.

What, a California lawyer lecturing a rural New Zealander on the situation in rural New Zealand based on experience in the fricking Dakotas 6500 miles away? That's a bit beyond getting ridiculous. You know the reason why there are fewer rabbits in the surrounding areas? You can shoot them. You can't shoot them in town since, as he intimated, you'd get a quick and not so friendly visit from the local bobby and a bunch of large, bodyarmoured blokes with MP5s and no sense of humour. So, in areas where you can't shoot them he could get ~500 a week, from a ~4ha area (and that's being very generous for Moeraki). The average NZ farm is ~200 ha. No shooting like in town and you'd be able to shoot... 25,000 rabbits per week. Fortunately, if you're controlling constantly you don't need to shoot those numbers, as... they can't breed if they're dead. Your logic is antivaxer "vaccines aren't necessary because no one gets measles" level. Sure, no one gets measles, when they're vaccinated.
-
This is New Zealand, our usual news cycle is 'cat rescued from tree' level. But in any case, from the article you're citing: Why do you even bother posting articles when you never bother to read them. FYI, Moeraki is miniscule- population of, 60.
-
Well, if you insist... There you go. Historic report, but the only thing which has changed is Calicivirus being released (illegally) and rabbits are immune to the strain here now. And of course all the footage is daytime, with rabbits mostly being nocturnal.

Doesn't feel like Trek describes it pretty well. It's like someone described what makes good Trek to the producers- quite possibly via Power Point presentation- and they didn't bother actually watching any. IMO it's even worse than that: I'm not irremediably wedded to it being 'good Trek' personally, and enjoyed the 1st season in part because it was a bit divergent from standard Trek tropes (as was DS9 for that matter), but this season isn't even close to good television in absolute terms. It feels like someone described good TV to the producers via Power Point as well. The basic elements of what made something like TNG or DS9 successful are there, but only as cosmetics and the feel is of a checklist being run through with the focus being on action scenes with zero tension and the almost comically over the top melodrama. The positives of the season are Pike, and the bridge crew being a bit more fleshed out. I guess Spock turned out better than I feared as well. Sadly, that's about it.

The term they should have used was 'Military Style Semi Automatics' as that's the correct* term under our legislation. So far as I'm aware we use the standard definition of Assault Rifle ('centrefire mid calibre rifle length gun capable of select fire'). *As of 3pm Thursday at least, before that they were standard A cat weapons and not specifically categorised except when paired with high capacity magazines.
-
Dear Star Trek Discovery, There is no dramatic tension from threatening to kill characters when you can't even leave the ones you do kill dead. And no, someone with a dozen lines across the entire run (apart from the ep they die in of course) dying is not a substitute even if you hold a 15 minute funeral for them next ep.
-
It's an 'assault rifle' feature like, uh, semi automatic fire. If there's one thing I thought was really stupid about our PM's presentation on the law changes it was her constantly referring to assault rifles, because if she really wanted people to hand them in voluntarily the worse thing she could do is look like a clueless townie trying to appeal to the fears of people who don't own the weapons in question instead of addressing those who do. I'd also have to say that having read the local paper yesterday I have a fair bit more sympathy for Gromnir getting things wrong, they managed to say that all s/a weapons apart from .22 had been banned in 3 separate articles. It takes 30 seconds to read the police release on the matter, and they get them emailed to them automatically but getting it right is far too much work it seems. OTOH, 'silencers' look scary but aren't banned here. Guess, technically, they make a gun safer since they reduce muzzle velocity but I'm not entirely sure that's the reasoning used.

FPS OFF! No, no, not jealous of a 2080Ti at all. Oh well, can't all be positives news. Still likely to preorder it anyway.

It's definately not a split of revenue, when Private Division is funding the project. It would be very unlikely to be a revenue split until such time as PD's initial investment is recouped at least, after that some sort of revenue split (or bonus) is more likely. There's still as much evidence of that as there is of Huawei spying- ie none. Frankly I'm starting to suspect there's more than a whiff of Yellow Peril racism in both accusations, since both accusations are made sans any evidence. in the Huawei case the problem is far more likely to be a lack of NSA spying built in rather than CCP spying being present.

That's Endorsed License Required. Specifically it requires B (or C) cat. That's can only be legally fired at pistol clubs by members of said clubs (B class) and can be owned but may not be fired (C class; ie registered collectors). Both license endorsement and buying the gun is allowed on a case by case basis. They 100% aren't available to the general public and aren't available to hunters. The vast majority of pistols owned are in Olympic classes as that is just about the only reason accepted for owning them. There are other exceptions too, Bill Clinton's Secret Service detachment was given B and E cat exemptions when they were here for APEC, for example. The bunny thing is a volume issue, as it is with goats/ pigs/ deer etc. In some places the rabbit cull is 200/day per farm as they have very limited natural predators (and no myxomatosis either), deer, pigs, goats etc have no natural or introduced predators at all. While I'm not familiar much with the Dakotas I'd be confident the situation isn't even slightly similar.

You really are totally ignorant, aren't you? You literally don't have a clue what you're talking about. Most important first: I don't claim the gunman could have been tackled, he literally was- twice. Second time finished the spree as he lost his gun and drove off. The first one can be seen- allegedly- on the video the gunman filmed himself on his GoPro and- allegedly since I cannot legally view it and wouldn't anyway- involved him being charged while reloading and him getting the mag in quickly enough to stop the guy. Fewer bullets in the mag or a slower reload and he would have been stopped there and then. Note again: that video, the one shot by the actual Christchurch gunman as he was shooting, is the one I cannot legally watch. I can watch irrelevant videos about revolvers as much as I want to. Your experience shooting rodents and rabbits 6500 miles away in the Dakotas is irrelevant, they aren't New Zealand and the situation is different; experts here disagree with you, even people who would really rather like to ban s/a guns if it were practical- like our PM and our police- disagree with you and they disagree with you because you're wrong. The great irony is that you've been complaining about others being narcissists and pontificating about the situation in the US while you're trying to tell us how things really stand here, from 5000 miles away because of... your personal experience and weapons that haven't been legal here since before most of the population was born. Can't really get much more ignorant and narcissist than that if you were trying to be ironic. Your revolver example is irrelevant. They're illegal here, the gunman didn't use one, might as well show artillery reloading it would be as relevant. Now, if you could prove that an AR15 with detachable mags has a similar reload speed and overall rof to something which isn't banned then you might have a point. Please, feel free to provide that evidence, but I won't be holding my breath waiting. Lever action rifles with 15+ rounds are also illegal here, so irrelevant. Amazingly, they managed to largely avoid the pointless platitudes and actions for action's sake, except for constantly referring to 'assault rifles' which were already banned anyway; and I'm not a fan of the process used or shortening public feedback heh, 'clips'. Thanks, self proclaimed gun expert.

You don't know what you are talking about: 1) Steam has DRM-free games: https://steam.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games 2) It is publishers who push the DRM crap, and they do it on EGS as well Metro Exodus for example uses Denuvo: https://www.epicgames.com/store/de/product/metro-exodus/home There is only one store that is arguably better in regards to DRM and that's GOG[1]. This is also why so few AAA titles are available there. Go figure. 3) You don't own EGS-Games, you are merely granted a license. Like you said, basically "renting": https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/eula 4) Total War, Bethesda Games titles Civ etc. are not bought exclusives. They aren't games Valve snatched away from other platforms at the eleventh hour. Those games were published on Steam because that's where the players are. [1] Even GOG has games with DRM'd multiplayer: https://www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_battlefront_ii/i_have_had_enough_of_gogs_pushing_of_their_drm_platform/page1 1) If there are DRM free games on Steam, there are also DRM free games on EGS. In reality neither is DRM free (and no, a fan wiki does not count for anything) as both require a proprietary app for download and install; and you can't just decide to ignore that form of DRM because you like Steam. And no Galaxy ain't DRM since it's optional and all you need for GOG is a browser and an account. 2) GOG is inarguably better than steam, even if you go by the incorrect definition of DRM free only about 1 in 20 Steam games don't require steam running- 99.95% of GOG games don't require Galaxy (with the one exception being always online by its nature). Centralised MP makes drm irrelevant, as you have to be online and connected to the company's servers, that's just how it works- ie you cannot be offline to play centralised MP. DRM on LAN or direct connection etc would be a valid complaint though. 3) You own games on EGS exactly as much as you own them on Steam, ie you don't. It's the same everywhere, hence End User License Agreement rather than End User Ownership Agreement. In some cases the licensing cannot be enforced- physical media, GOG installer downloads, local law saying something is a good not a service- but you only own them practically, not legally. 4) They are induced exclusives, they're just bought in kind rather than as a guaranteed minimum sale figure. All those 'free' features steam offers are inducements to exclusivity every bit as much as a lump sum, they're just a different approach to it.
