  1. You might want to try their support. Redeemed content disappearing is definitely something they should look into - they've sorted out less critical stuff before.
  2. I just swore I'm never going back there again. While I'm not a fan of supercilious geek elitism, the cluelessness, low (mental) age, trolls and rampant fanboyism make that place a total train wreck. It's a pity, really, since all the good stuff (including a lot of great information not available elsewhere) just gets lost in the tidal wave of STUPIDITY. Honestly, people whine about stuff I'd never thought could be possible.
  3. Well, if you look purely at the shooter and rpg elements of Deus Ex, I'd say they were mediocre at best. And yet, it is one, if not the best, game ever made.
  4. I dunno, I didn't find the 'buying stuff for the decrepit shack' thing satisfied my nesting instinct at all. I mean, even ME's Pinnacle Station scored a lot higher on the virtual crib pimpin' department. Of course, this from a guy who has max achievements/trophies in exactly three games (Monkey Island SE, Mass Effect and DAO) and is getting a bit long in the tooth to be described as a kiddie...
  5. Sorry for the double post, but: 1) Martin Sheen sounds like his dentures are falling off. I'm having a ton of trouble accepting the physical model of Illusive Man with his voice. 2) A lot of the 'expanded discussion cinematics' are looking wince-inducingly cheesy (Both in the Afterlife clip and in the Garrus intro). I had a friend point out that the 'homage to 80s scifi' thing Mass Effect has going calls for this, but still... I've had these two breaking out to the surface for a while, and I had to share them.
  6. Yes, I played (too much, due to some character set up mistakes) vanguards in ME, and at the moment it looks like I'll be switching over to the Sentinel. Tech Armor, Warp and Throw pretty much cover the aspects of vanguards I liked, and frankly, the last two playthroughs of shotgunning make me eager to use something else - and the SMGs look suitably therapeutic for what I have in mind.
  7. Well, if it's a heavy weapon - and it looks like a heavy weapon, you don't need to be a soldier to use it.
  8. What trailer? Oh, I found it. EA Germany had a trailer up on their Youtube channel earlier. It got 'removed by user', which is why I didn't link it. Obsidianites might find it interesting that Ferret Baudoin was apparently the lead for this project.
  9. It could be an 'Alan Smithee' thing - the people responsible for those games were too ashamed to have their team connected with them
  10. Ok, I see the one old favorite now. Considering the way the trailer rams Alistair down my throat, I have a strong suspicion who that might be. This goes on the 'wait and see' list. Not exactly ecstatic so far (of course I got my preordered copy weeks late because EA Nordic messed up the PS3 collector's editions, the PS3 patch is MIA and fixes haven't been announced and return to Ostagar is in the 'postponed until further notice at the last possible moment' phase.)
  11. Mm. I never played the SSI Buck Rogers games. Maybe I should. Probably should go through the Dragonlance trilogy first, though.
  12. Not trying to be snide here, but I honestly can't remember a single dialogue from FO3. In fact, when I read the post above, I had to think for a second to actually remember that there was some in the game, and it didn't actually just consist of VATSing supermutants and Enclave troopers.
  13. Yes. How MUCH time is going to be interesting.
  14. My point was that at the moment, it would appear they're making the system DLC-friendlier by allowing people to import any post-storyline completion save game - so it's not locked to a specific (type) of savegame. It's nothing major, but a nifty feature in its own right, and looking at the amount of confusion the importing function in ME2 has created, probably a great idea to simplify it.
  15. Well, I guess during the PC->console porting phase more things took place than the reimplementation of Shale. Or this is the elusive Montreal studio at work. Seems like they've got their timetable pretty well perfected (apart from the limping of Return to Ostagar, but the plan's good, if not the execution)... Interesting, wonder how they are going about this? Using the the auto save that reverts the game to just before the final battle? Probably that, or whatever save you've created afterwards for playing DLC. That's the way they've announced importing is going to work from ME2 to ME3, and if they know THAT in this phase, they've probably prototyped it somewhere else to 'great success'.
  16. And get steamrolled by ME2? Let's wait until we get that release date and a month prior to it.
  17. Officially here: http://pc.ign.com/articles/105/1058169p1.html Well, well. I am, indeed, colored surprised.
  18. Since the Cerberus Network is apparently going to provide a steady dribble of new stuff in addition to the initial burst, it might work better. Looks like they're testing the applications at the moment. I think it's a brilliant idea, no excuses needed.
  19. Sounds to me like they're preparing for every eventuality; they want to be in place to greenlight a sequel immediately if the game turns out to be a runaway success. Or they're just really, really confident, which would be cooler.
  20. That's probably why the hot brunette Cerberus girl is sent along. She holds the remote control. Heh, was David Cage hired as a writer or something? A hot brunette's never needed a remote controller to make me do what she wants.
  21. There are producers both on the publisher side and the studio side.
  22. I've got serious doubts that the success and reception of F3 had much to do with how good it's as a game. Not in a way that couldn't be surpassed by a lot of other companies and games working within the same franchise. It's funny, really. I played the game in basically three extended sessions of a couple of weeks... First when it first came out, then finished the character in the spring, and then when finally the ps3 DLC came out played through some of them. I remember having a decent amount of fun playing through it, but the idea of going back to it for the remaining DLC never mind starting a new character sickens me. I'm not sure why, I think there's a tediousness in the gameplay that kind of sneaks on me...
  23. I've been playing a Dalish archer and it's been pretty good. My only gripe is a general one, namely that playing as a rogue is pointless as one is forced into combat no matter what. One can't even sneak past enemies since opening doors "in combat" is impossible & otherwise one just triggers an avalanche of enemy spawns. Playing as a rogue can be pointless if you don't abuse the horrible riposte+coup de grace+momentum(+lethality+etc.) combo. The dozen backstabs kill most things so I don't even have to try to remember where I bound Punisher... So yeah, I wouldn't call rogues pointless, stealth gameplay is just not the thing :/ So far just as far as the origins go, the dwarf noble has been my favourite, with the human noble and city elf coming close behind... Of course, I've never been too partial to dwarves, so subjectively I probably prefer the latter two for a character I have to live with for 70-80 hours.
