I've been having lucid dreams almost on a daily basis for the past couple of weeks when I take a short nap break in the middle of my workday. Normally I'm working in the dreams, which is kind of surreal, when you know you are asleep.

Now? The industry has been pulling out MP on every game in the last 3 years, ever since someone said that "millenials" are more social by nature and by social they probably meant that they can't go 3 secs without texting or checking their facebook status. Let's just look at the transition of FEAR (since it's close to mind) the first 2 were FPS/Horror games with the added multiplayer. The last one was some multiplayer bull with an added FEAR storyline. Wanna know why nobody makes WRPGS that aren't MMOs? NO MULTIPLAYER Forgot, Casey Hudson (re)confirmed at comic con that there will be no MP in ME3. So if there is one, the project manager is unaware of it.

There's a bunch of variations of that level on BiowareTV as well. Frankly, I'm getting sick of that particular level, and it's, what, over six months until I even get to play it myself? I'm reminded of how a coworker described my position in the internal pecking order of a previous workplace. "You could walk on water, and they'd say you can't even swim."

Yeah, or they don't give a ****, like me. Always sad when young people die, fame doesn't impact my view of it one way or the other, neither do their habits. And moving on to things I've done today, been working on the dissertation, as have been daily for the past two months. Aggravated as ****, have grudging respect for anyone insane enough to write a 1500 page manifesto.

That's roughly my take on the game, as well. I even tried the demo to make sure it wasn't just some sick joke being played on me.

For ****'s sake, since the first ME came out, a sizeable portion of Jennifer Hale fan"boys" (of which I know there are several here, as well) that femshep is not used in marketing at all. With the apparent money injection ME3 is getting, they are now diversifying the marketing to include she-pard as well. Obviously, this has to be one ****ing character, and not some randomly generated floozy in N7 all the time (though, I guess that would be an option, hmm). I don't give a **** either way, but where the **** do you guys dream this **** up? really? *sits back, waiting for another pseudo-brilliant piece of misplaced analysis from Malcador* p.s. I like four. I'm a sucker for red highlights.

If it had been made in Mongolia or Azerbaijan, it would have been accepted as a great game.

Must be horrible. Getting gently talked to by beautiful female psychiatrists the whole day "But you're special! You can change if you just want! Do you want a massage to feel better?". Heh, if that's what you imagine what a ward looks like I've seen them with chemical castration/pacification, straight jackets and padded walls (and nurses that makes Ilse, the camp guard seem gentle by comparison). +The nurses I have seen have been largely male and built like the proverbial brick **** houses. The largest man I have ever seen in my life worked as a guard at one of the two Finnish asylums that treat criminal patients (Niuvanniemi, for those following on your maps at home). Interesting if Norway really doesn't carry even the option for an "indefinite" life sentence for premeditated murder, they might want to revisit that a bit. p.s. personally consider separation from society good enough by itself, no need for appeasement of a masturbatory thirst of vengeance. p.p.s. Flouride, if you think that your description matches the Finnish prison regime, I have to point out that there is strictly no internet access for the inmates, as all communication is monitored. The TVs and game consoles are largely there to prevent them from getting into mischief (less inclined to make shivs and shank each other or the guards if they are otherwise occupied). Too bad few people realise the reasons for this.

Agreed. Though, tbh, the fact that it's a camp for teenagers for "grooming the future political elite" makes me even sicker. And yeah, armed guards, as a concept, do not exist in the nordic countries. It wasn't that long ago (early 90s) when even all police patrols weren't armed. Now we've progressed to the point where not all patrols have support weapons, but I digress...

Easy labels to slap around. 80s the current report here, as well. Remind me to not go to islands.
-
No links, since I'm getting this off Finnish media, but apparently the Norwegian popos are treating it as a local affair, and someone matching the description of the island shooter was seen getting off the car at ground 0 (so possibly solo).

The social democrats are the prime minister's party, so their placement on the native political spectrum could well be moot. Apart from that, this is going to stir a lot things up here in the north, some ex colleagues of mine aren't going to spend a lot of time home this weekend... Also, info from the island is scarce because it's been trapped and they are still waiting for sappers to clear it. FUBAR.

Congrats, a good moment for a cigar if there ever was one. I've roadmapped the final part of my dissertation so that I'm going to finish the day before deus ex hr, come hell or high water.

Well, been looking at the (apparent) major car bomb in central Oslo. Kind of glad it's not work for me, this time.

I think that's business as usual for Star Wars fans. That's a pretty crazy price. I was pretty set on getting the collectors edition, but I don't plan on swinging $150 for it. It's a bummer because I have a few collector's editions that I love. I've got WoW and LotRO sitting looking great next to a bunch of cool books. My daughter uses my Fallout 3 lunchbox for pre-school, and I use the GTA4 cash lockbox for car washes at the school. But nothing in the TOR collector's edition strikes me as worth an extra $90. I also noticed that it is $60, instead of the typical $50 of most PC games. I guess that isn't a surprise. I agree it's crazy, I was just pointing out that there are a lot of serious star wars fanatics who won't even blink at that price, and then you only get into the in-game-item-completionists etc. Still probably not going to get this (at all), at least not until either an OS X client releases or I find myself with a serious excess of time.

^^ Also agree, looks like Squeenix is all in behind this game.

Went for a burger with an old colleague from the district court days. Barring email and gtalk, I would've been in the same boat as you otherwise. :D

News Int. Inc. hack phone of missing (dead girl)
Nepenthe replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
I've never seen a non-lawyer show as much expertise as my assumed learned colleagues above, but I hear there are those practicing without a license, so I could be wrong. Here it's always people who try to impersonate doctors, get more money and nurses, less hate from the unwashed masses who don't know better... -
Well, going from the things you post, I think they're waiting for you to get stuck in there and then close the building for two weeks. The new avatar is a screen cap from the Deus Ex Invisible War homepage, the flash load screen to be exact. I used it for at least as long in the good old days in the bad old forums as I used the Hot Alpha Protocol Fuzz one here. The circle is now complete. Is a good thing too, I was getting tired of people confusing me with you. Sucks to have to keep fighting all those women off, doesn't it?

Risks, such as they were, were a lot more viable when your team had <15 people on it - and selling 250k units was mind-blowing (I think that's what Pool of Radiance was advertised for). Of course, I have to agree that there was absolutely no risk in any of the gold boxes, pretty much the opposite. Interestingly, I think it's also the last time a good crpg/pnp cross promotion was done. Or, well, Curse of the Azure Bonds was.

I agree, I thought it would be much higher. Maybe they got those numbers out of people who chose to play the game connected to the server and they have imperfect data. So all/most pirates are female, or all/most female are pirates? No, a higher percentage of male gamers are antisocial and paranoid?
