  1. Nah, it's great to listen to OSTs beyond 10 minutes.
  2. Actually they are very similar, they both are about the humanitarian precedent In Libya the West intervened initially because of the Siege of Misrata https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Misrata That was the catalyst and it should be an easy sale to understand that Western intervention in the beginning of the Syrian conflict and assisting to remove Assad cannot be seen as a bad thing if you look at the reality of Syria now And I'm not suggesting for a second that there arent other factors that influence the West but we cannot ignore the humanitarian aspect Not quite sure sanctions is akin to airstrikes and funneling arms to rebels in an attempt to change a regime just because you dislike them, nor is intervening to stop a verified mass slaughter of people (heh, in practice this is when you dislike a regime, I suppose). How can we look at Syria and the rise of ISIS and figure this wasn't a bad idea. As for Misrata, well, those rebels started a war.
  3. Had a nice 5 day weekend, sadly it's over. Cleaned dryer vent, updated laptop, assembled a POS pantry and got up to paragon level 170, not a bad use of the time
  4. God damn Russia, intervening in other nations. Would be funny if they committed ground forces, even if they'd leave Syria in ruins.
  5. Well, that is one way to do crowd control
  6. Neither of those is similar to arming or being the air force for rebels in another country.
  7. Sort of, they did help breaking it so should share the cost. Some day the West will learn to just leave things alone, or just make sure the devil you know is in charge. The US must be torn up over the ME burning as it is, heh.
  8. Wonder how well they will integrate in Germany.
  9. Hungary has basically fortified its border with Serbia, to no avail. There's just too many of them coming. A lot of them come in really crappy boats too, and the navies and coast patrols are over capacity just rescuing people from wreckages. And even then a lot of them just drown. It really is a ****ed up situation. Well meant all member states sending people. But no EU military, so whoops
  10. D3. I am up to t7 now, going well. Focus and Restraint are so beautiful.
  11. EU should stop them at the perimeter (as a group, so the rich boys pay up) and then maybe try to allocate them in a reasonable way with screening. Maybe. But best way of doing this is to not focus on the human side too much, good intentions and all that
  12. Don't get kidnapped by cartels. Airshow in town, hope I can see some aircraft - one year had the Blue Angels fly over my house low and slow, was nice.
  13. Was joking, but yes, I understand that kind of reaction to a sensory input. Certain colours irritate me for example, those shiny colours - electric or something? - do that for me.
  14. Oh, so just a freak then, not a heretic. Carry on. I like my Kindle, being able to increase the font size is good for people with awful eyesight like myself, but I do enjoy the convenience of a regular book.
  15. Heretic.
  16. Ah, well mine hadn't come out fully - they couldn't actually, on an angle and no room if I recall correctly.
  17. I lost all 4 when I was 17, was not fun not being able to chew food for a week or so and brush with proper vigor (stitches and all). Was fun being awake and feeling the tooth get extracted, wasn't painful just the physical force.
  18. Hm, should go to a midnight opening and get some to Ebay later.
  19. Well, if it's in the context of your company being awful it's ok. If it's trying to denigrate your career somehow, I guess it could be rude.
  20. Not really rude, is pretty accurate
  21. I work in a place that aspires to be Initech.
  22. Interviews still, yesterday was a pleasant Russian lady and she was pretty capable. She won't be on our team though, as she's got no technical background - no one's perfect I guess. So far though, has been some impressive people - one guy with an M.A in Mathematics couldn't explain what an ODE is, another said you'd need a Computer Science background to understand what the Internet is in layman's terms, one emailed asking for the job description and one guy forgot what day his interview was. Either the job market is awash with incompetents or all the good people are working someplace else.
  23. Rather disappointed no one tweeted that always popular PA move of "citation needed" at her, tsk, what has Twitter come to. Good to see Wu is as batty as ever.
