  1. I'd probably be inclined to kill the other 6. The dog is one of my own, they're not This sort of statement causes me to reflect on what has gone awry with our species. A dog will never write a symphony, let alone appreciate one. They will never provide insight into the nature of reality. Its capacity to produce, appreciate, and relate are so comparatively inferior, yet somehow humans will frequently elevate them beyond their own kind. I don't understand this. Dogs have been selectively bred for social compatibility with humans for hundreds of years. Their affection has been cultivated the same way grapes have been selectively evolved by humans for enjoyment. Pinot Nior vs. Sauvengion Blanc. Doberman vs. Chihuahua. When people start valuing another species more than their own--let alone something as simplistic and inferior as a dog, I begin to suspect projection of a cognitively dissonant self-loathing. Somehow tossing human survivors overboard to their deaths is a sane statement, yet making an equivalent statement like, "I would murder half a dozen innocent sapient beings and feed them to my demonstrably inferior emotional toy should I deem it necessary" would be considered psychopathic. Bizarre. Took longer than I thought, but no less amusing.
  2. Finished off Peripheral. Ending is a bit..too cheery. Didn't really mesh with the rather weary dystopic settings in both worlds, either the usual grimdark future US society or the even more grimadrk post apocalyptic future. Though I suppose thinking on it, it's a bit depressing as the former setting is supposed to be ours maybe 20 years ahead and there's no deus ex machina for us ?
  3. Johannson sure has that vacant expression down pat.

  18. Yeah but crap like waterboarding goes beyond what should be acceptable. Besides the information gained from that line of activity isn't that reliable.
  19. But it is about as unpleasant and unnecessary though. But will happen, people get lazy and well..sometimes it is tempting to cause someone pain.
  20. Yeah but then someone would spike the water supply with it and society would crumble
  21. Good for you?
  22. Well stop posting trailers about most likely inferior games and go download it instead, you don't even need base TTDX to play it. The reason why that game worked so well is because it was very straightforward to play yet no matter how much time did you spend with it, there were always ways to make your systems more efficient, to toy around and improve. The reason why nobody seems to be able to replicate it is, IMO, because modern attempts don't quite seem to understand that adding pointless new features to a game which got popular for being easy to grasp, thus increasing the learning curve, is extremely counter-productive. And now that Open TTD introduced a bucketload of quality of life features ... Just play it. It's great and there's no reason not to. Well after a recommendation from a ****, might as well.
  23. Never played that, does put a damper on things though. What was the problem you had with it? Still need to try openTTD
