  1. Then who would finance our debt so we can buy cheap crap from them? What are you trying to do, fix our economy or something?
  2. What does monetize mean in this context?
  3. Why do you say that? It looks to me it might be good.
  4. They've released plenty of screenshots already. Gameplay videos may not be ready yet, especially as most internet dwellers don't seem to understand the game isn't final and proceed to take apart and nitpick every little flaw. I'm sure as we get closer to release, the info flood gates will break. Unfortunately, to be truly successful a game has to reach the mainstream, and I'm not sure the gaming sites do that very successfully.
  5. Nowhere near big enough a game to stand out from the pack at Christmas. And SEGA's marketing budget is very limited by necessity.
  6. As has been mentioned, ME put you into cover automatically, and often had a problem with not going into cover properly or not being able to deploy a weapon while in cover. Personally I preferred the old fashioned analog movement behind cover in FPS, but I guess for a 3rd person RPG a cover mechanic would be OK if implemented properly (probably one button to go into cover, different button to leave) or R6:V would probably work, although I haven't played it enough to get proficient.
  7. From what I understand there will be family feuds and political intrigue. Of course there'll be the save the world stuff as well. Though if I play as the Alienage elf, I'm going to try to sabotage the nazi humans as much as possible.
  8. Not all, but a good majority of it. The opnly difference is that these people have no problem showing their bigotry while most are still in the closet, so to speak. In my view, if you hate the sin then you hate the sinner. We are who we are, flaws and all, and if you hate an aspect of a person's life he or she has no real control over then you hate the person. Hating homosexuality is like hating left handedness, or hating all blue eyes, or all curly hair. So you think a good majority of Christians celebrate that there was a plane crash in Netherlands?
  9. As in "you get a report of an enemy squadron approaching from the North?" There are plenty of strategy games where direction is essential, I don't know if that applies to sea battles in ETW.
  10. You're both wrong.
  11. May be they'll make it a free download or reduced price, to get more people to try it. In any case, WoW provides a free trial, so TOR would have to also. I'm not fundamentally opposed to MMO's, just to grinding. If you take their promises of a story driven game at face value, that may work out fine.
  12. But they said you'd get a lot more content than any single player game. So long as they provide $15's worth of content a month, why not pay a subscription? Alternatively just play for 4 months, it'll be like buying a single game. Plus I guess you can always unsubscribe and wait for the content to catch up. And yes, I do hope all the NPC's are voiced.
  13. They made a lot of noise about being able to play TOR as you would a single player game. Yes, I'm skeptical, hopefully there's a demo.
  14. What are you on about? They DO have a wind direction indicator. They do? All I saw was the compass, of course the game run so bad on my PC I only played the tutorial and gave up. The compass has a huge arrow on. Presumably that's the wind direction. Well, the arrow was just pointing North, so I assumed it's just the compass, since the tutorial didn't mention wind at all.
  15. What are you on about? They DO have a wind direction indicator. They do? All I saw was the compass, of course the game run so bad on my PC I only played the tutorial and gave up.
  16. Because they want to force KOTOR fans to pay subscription for the MMO. Just another in the long line of indignities by LA against KOTOR fans.
  17. Got Braid on sale for $10 from Xbox Live.
  18. I don't think they take wind into account at all. If they did, they'd have a wind direction indicator. The ships just act like they're motorized.
  19. Yes, a small group of lunatics that shows up at funerals to celebrate the death of American soldiers clearly represents all of Christianity.
  20. Well, may be I never got to the more exotic places in Morrowind, I spent a lot of time trudging back and forth across Vivec, argh.
  21. Actually Oblivion was more medieval and less fantastic, in fact I thought art design was competent but pedestrian, pretty much like the game itself. If anything it was similar to Morrowind, except prettier and higher res. I still don't see the problem with the art design of a game being similar to the art design of very successful series of movies. Nothing exists in a vacuum, and I don't see how it would prevent the game from being good so long as it has quality gameplay.
  22. @Rhomal: Art direction is important, but being reminiscent of LOTR doesn't mean art direction is bad. Anyway, so far as I know there hasn't been a good LOTR RPG, so even if it was LOTR, what's the problem? Also, Medieval Fantasy, thus looking both fantastic and medieval, pretty much hard to escape LOTR comparisons.
  23. Clearly any fantasy game that resembles LOTR must be generic crap and suck, because we all know RPG's are about how the environments look.
  24. If it comes out in the summer, I think it can get some buzz, just because there's nothing else out at the time.
