  1. Not Russians! xD They would have to learn from their mistakes though, remove the bad elements and replace them with better elements. With the proper leadership I'm sure they could achieve decent things. But history has also proven that it's far easier to catch up to the modern world than to overtake it. Stalin's 5 year plans proved an astonishing success at making U.S.S.R. a potent force but not going anywhere near replacing the U.S. in success and technological innovation. Also a lot of their technology and designs were looted from a defeated Nazi Germany, but that also goes with Western powers as well. Nazi's had some phat loot!
  2. Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 on sale (GOG)! I was literally just complaining that I wanted to play them again and that they should go on sale, so I guess their employees lurk these boards.
  3. Not quite what I meant, no, that's irrelevant in this context. Easterners gonna eastern, right? As an American I think I stated that I'm a libertarian socialist, which is proper and appropriate for U.S. context. Modern China is basically a synthesis with Confucianism and imperial dynasty China with Maoism, the best of both elements. Modern Russia could be a synthesis between Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union If they get rid of Putin and mobilize to achieve it.
  4. Hell no! I'm with the 40% of Russians who think it's time for new leadership (Rule of thumb, anything that has at least 40% of support has a solid shot of winning out in the near future), as I think I stated earlier, Putinism was the cure to Russia's woes in the late 90's and early 00's, but it's now past its shelf life. What they will (likely) do after Putin is take inspiration from the U.S.S.R., reinstate what worked and synthesize it with modern elements. Maybe like China, but different.
  5. I also bought it in a shopping mall, God I miss those days!! Limited internet, not knowing what was out there, and just walking into the game store, picking out a few titles, and enjoying them for what they are. Also, I thought all the prudes were in the U.S. ?
  6. Eric Li with his analysis on global events from the Chinese perspective. Li is awesome, he's an entrepreneur, educated in the U.S., and a staunch defender of China.
  7. Twitter is shadowbanning everyone who doesn't conform to the Empire's consensus so I'm not sure who's the hypersensitive one here, Telegram is work in progress alternative to Twitter. Also, https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jun/29/edward-snowden-describes-russian-government-as-corrupt
  8. Snowden has regularly criticized the Russian gvt. on his Twitter.
  9. Location: Germany I see what you did there
  10. But all shows were like that in that time period. The whole 90's-00's was like one big cultural hoshposh of really bad manners and crudeness. Nobody seemed to care at the time but upon reflection yes it was quite a casually braindead racist and sexist time.
  11. Gothic 1 was my absolute best gaem1! when it was released but it hasn't really aged well. The whole series just screams MEH at present and I don't even think a good remake could ignite any excitement. It is what it is.
  12. The problem is lack of leadership. Only ideas can inspire actual change, not elected cogwheels who just talk. Say what you will about Trump, but his completely unorthodox approach to politics actually did inspire and plant some seeds for change, almost by accident, in many parts of the world. https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/biden-foreign-policy-history/
  13. The EU are proving to be complete failures and are just pencil pushers who are completely out of touch with the general population. Russia and China, on the other hand, appear to be on the rise to prominent global competitor status, China is well underway and all Russia needs is a more modern thinking leader and they will certainly get their eventually as well. Putinism may have worked wonders in the late 90's and early 00's but he and his oligarchy are certainly well past their shelf life. And because I get a great deal of humor out of pitting parallels between late stage U.S.S.R. and late stage Reagan/Thatcherist U.S.A. I found this to be especially entertaining: https://taibbi.substack.com/p/the-sovietization-of-the-american
  14. Pillars of Eternity. Will pick up Deadfire once it goes on a GOG sale or is free on EGS. Based off what I've seen, looks like Deadfire fixes everything I do not particularly care for in 1st. Apparently It has multiclassing and a bit less tedious combat/gameplay, which is fantastic.
  15. Yeah I don't know where people are getting the impression that Scandinavian countries are hybrid economies. They are at best welfare states with a bit of a stronger safety net than that of the U.S. The free market is ****ing us all equally. You'll only find actual hybrid economies in the Eastern Hemisphere.
  16. Yes it's well known that Mussolini was on good terms with Britain all the way up until France fell, then Italy formally joined the Nazi's and declared war on Britain and what was left of France. The British made them pay dearly for that though! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Compass
  17. I dunno about that one. Modern Western liberals seem disturbingly anti-Communist lately, and the basis of fascism IS anti-Communism. Who knows how this will play out but right now I have a hard time seeing them as allies.
  18. I have staunch Republicans in my own family, and I love them despite their flawed and questionable objectives. Neo-Nazi's are far worse than them, and all Neo-Nazi's are former Democrats. My point here is that it's extremely stupid for people on the so called "Left" to label Trump as some kind of working class hero, when it was in fact the entire GOP base who supported him, poor, middle, and rich.
  19. Yes Trump is a fraud and easily manipulated the dumb and hateful GOP base as a whole. Only a moron would think Trump was any kind of revolutionary leader, but there's still people who cling to that myth apparently.
  20. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/543030-81-percent-of-republican-voters-hold-favorable-view-of-trump-poll More destruction of the idiotic theory perpetuated by the likes of @Gromnir that only "white and working class" people support Trump. The vast majority of Trump supporters are more like "White and Evangelical middle class" and "Classic Republican voter". Let's add "Supports fascism" to the list as well.
  21. Yup sounds like me in Sunday School, my mom thought she could raise my brother and I to be the perfect White Christian gentlemen but all we did was pull pranks and mock everyone. To this day it just strikes me as dumb, resources and intelligence could be better spent elsewhere. Anywho, if you haven't read 'The Fourth Turning' yet by William Strauss and Neil Howe....you're out of touch with everything! This is literally the most important book of the age, everything you've heard about generations like Boomers and Millennials derives from here.
  22. Whelp I guess it's wartime propaganda at play here, if you support aggressions against the East whilst completely ignoring the domestic issues and inequality at home (Which is expected because all politicians and media are owned by corporations), you're just as bad as the white trash evangelical Trump supporter in my book. It's getting to that point where it's "All the same to me".
  23. !!!!!! More like paid shills for corporate white trash evangelical empire.
  24. Can't handle fun facts, Grookie? Oh that's right you're a baby boomer who's dabbled in law, silly me.
