The Thing (2011 prequel). Pretty good, I liked it actually more than Carpenters original (even if it lacks magical Kurt Russel), and while I thought the "shock" effects were cheap and the creature design not very striking (it wasn't in the Original either), the interaction and distrust between the characters were more nuanced and less transparent this time and overall it was a worthwhile watch that played out in the way so it would directly connect to the 1982 Original. Poor dog.

A Perfect Getaway. From the same Director as the Riddick movies, but without the suck. Quite underrated movie actually. Highly recommended, also great soundtrack.

I don't mind WH (40K) as a strategy game. But if Obsidian and THQ ever think about making an RPG...oh boy. Think about it: To stay true to the WH lore, there'd be no love, emotions, and....romances in it! The horror!

Any 3d engine can do 2d- almost all UI elements are 2d for example, but in any case all you need to do to get 2d from 3d is set dimension 3 to zero. That's kind of fundamental to geometry. You can even build environments in 3d then turn them into 2d if you want, as was done for the Infinity Engine games. Else none of the minigames in System Shock 2 could exist- they're 2d games in a 3d engine, after all. Goddammit I don't wanna play a gigantic 2D minigame and pay full price for it. I expect more than that in these days and age.

I still don't know what the pissed Italian wants from me. Onyx engine is 3D. I suppose there's also exploration involved in the game - I heard 3D is pretty good for this. Or are you suggesting they're gonna make a 2D sidescroller gamer and charge fullprice for this?
