  1. "The whole point of MMOs is not to be a WOW clone?" What are you babbling around now?
  2. Funny, when I play some of the more interesting TSW missions, I'm always a bit reminded of certain TLJ qualities. It's pretty much the closest you'll get for the foreseeable future.
  3. Oh please. Another fantasy WOW clone playing with kinky girls?
  4. EA realising that TSW is soon gonna be the new cool kid around the block?
  5. After playing more of TSW and falling in love with it, I'm now seriously considering to buy a Lifetime sub for a measily
  6. Valve hiring it's own economist; no other one than Greek professor Yanis Varoufakis.
  7. Bad games are everywhere. But publishers are responsible about how they market games (and actually also how they're designed). So yes, I do blame publishers for being stupid. Remember the Button-Awesome guy from BioWare? I'm talking this kind of stupid and tasteless people. Yes, it's sad.
  8. Not gonna happen with the RPG genre. If people wanna play violent-free games, there's always chess and old-skool adventures. Me personally I don't mind violence, but I agree with Warren that the perversion of pushing violence through PR etc. is going too far (latest Hitman and nuns trailer for exemple, or Tomb Raper). This whole obession only shows one thing: Publishers are obsessed and desperate to sell more of their shallow games by trying to emulate good ol' Hollywood. Pathetic, but that's the sad world of entertainment we live in today. I know I won't vote with my wallet for such crap, and that's about the only thing I can do as a consumer. Bring back good games with good stories and gameplay, with violence as the necessary means to achieve greater goals, not making violence the selling point itself.
  9. Been playing a bit the Secret World Beta now. It's really nicely done, but despite it's modern day paint and dark atmosphere, it's just another MMO in the end of the day. That is, you run around a lot and kill stuff. God I'd kill for a Ragnar Tornquist/Funcom developed Secret World singelplayer RPG. But in the meantime, this is pretty much the best we can hope for a nice Lovecroftian/horror inspired game done well. Maybe I'm gonna pick it up later this year, or maybe I won't. But if I ever decide to go back to MMO gaming again, I know which one to buy.
  10. Some new Thief 4 tidbits. Ja is zis never coming out or was?
  11. Hey, DSIII got George Ziets on board, so it must be good, right? R00fles!
  12. "Huge problems ahead" for mid-tier console developers. Mid-tier? Those died a long time ago already with the advent of the Xbox 360 and PS3. If a company with so much muscle and technology like Crytek already shies away from AAA, excuse me, AAAA titles (the new ****) by announcing to go completely F2P in the future, what's gonna happen to the likes of Obsidian? Oh I see, so Southpark is like that new direction for Obsidian's future? O_o.
  13. Frankly, a game like Uncharted relies heavily on acting. Spot-on acting + free roam = Does not work well/at all. This is why The last of Us will just be more Uncharted, but with Mushroom Zombies. And Ellen Page.
  14. About time the Scots get serious about unchaining the shackles from Imperial London.
  15. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The moment I saw Stellan Slarsgard,
  16. Nice. But I don't really see anything there that UE3 couldn't do. At least they updated the toolset significantly. I really like the Maya-like Hypershade Editor.
  17. CryTek wants to go out of business, aka all future games to be F2P. Morons.
  18. Just started playing a bit Saints Row The Third. Oh wow, I think I have to take everything back I said before. That is one crazy piece of entertainment - in a very very cheerful and enjoyable way.
  19. Okay, just watched that whole Beyond: Two Souls...."gameplay" video. What the hell. I'm shocked. It's even less interactive than Heavy Rain. But what bothered me most was that the ghost entitiy could just pick one SWAT dude after another, taking them out with ease, without the rest of the team mates reacting accordingly. I didn't see any possibility for failing there. At least in HR you could fail, but here? Big kudos however on the technology.
