The UE3 license comes with Speedtree and Havoc included, I think. Does Obsidian use any other middleware, and would it be possible to ship the PC game with the Unreal Editor?

AP runs on the UE3, so it should be feasible to include the level editor at least.

Even if I could afford a 2000EUR PC, I wouldn't buy it. It's uneconomical, and I try to save as much money as possible everywhere. Even when I buy socks I compare the prices. Yes.

I think Bruce Shelley said in his blog that he's retiring. One studio formed by Tony Goodman will probably hire most of the capable Ensemble employees, and another newly formed studio will make iPhone games.

Old news about the console ports. DA was supposed to come out in a month. But now it was postponed alongside the console versions to late 2009. Whatever.

My upgrade last year costed me I think 630€. That was a Q6600, 8800GT, new Mobo, 4 Gb memory, new PSU, Arctic CPU Cooler. Later I bought a 500 gb HDD for cheap 50€, and my X-Fi serves me since 2007 (50€ as well I think). What's that crap with $1500 PC's anyway? Buying in Uganda? Besides, console games are usually 20€ more expensive. You safe money there too.

I'm gonna upgrade my videocard sometime 2010, when DX11 enabled cards get released. Until then, my fine 8800GT will serve me perfectly.

DA has been from ground up made as a PC game. That console port was something they'd do "after the PC version ships". Well anyway, good luck with that. I'll stick with the real version.

ME was great, even for PC standards. My guess is that ME2 will arrive on PC, 360 and PS3. Which means, as we speak, there's somewhere likely a PS3 port for ME in the works.

I'd never ever touch a console game that was ported from PC, not even from Bioware. Besides, DA looks like it will run on LowLevel PC's as well, so I don't think there's a need to upgrade your PC, unless you haven't done so since 5 years.

This sucks. But hey, whatever Bioware feels is the right thing to do... But I get the feeling this will be a very crowded Fall again. Now Obsidian will get all the stars and jubilance for releasing the first major RPG before Bio does.

Perhaps it's the vegas 2 demo that I played. Do Vegas1 vs. Vegas 2 differ much?

I highly doubt that this game is going to be about a gun toting man doing spy work. It'd be stupid for him to zip around and slaughter everyone that's going to give him information... of course James Bond did it in Quantum of Solace. Obs has already said somewhere that the primary activity was shooting people in the head. No. It's about "taking cover and shooting people in the face". That reminds me more of Gears or Mass Effect. Vegas, from what I remember, was a FPS. One of the lame ones. We don't want AP to be lame, right?

WAR is RvR heavy, so there're more chances to level faster. But WoW still wins for the beautifully created areas and charming atmosphere.

The only thing that holds me back re-subscribing Wow is that horribly slow combat. It takes eons to kill a pig, even for my badass lvl 12 dwarf. Thinking of MMOs, I'll go back and subscribe a month for WAR now.

Wow. That surprises me. Because BC didn't have 30 free days included IIRC.
