Throw in Mamoru with those two, and it literally just about brings out the worst in all three characters. Terrible idea...and it's off the heels of S where it seemed like Usagi and Chibi-Usa had finally come to a bit of a mother-daughter understanding, and Chibi-Usa had finally figured some things out. I'm thankful that I've been skipping enough of the ends of episodes I can't even recall her saying this. I had really grown to like Chibi-Usa from S, I don't want her to make me want to kill myself from just her uttering two words. Yeah, don't worry, I am checking back with your write-ups for them after I watch them (I only read the ratings *before* I watch them, though). We're not necessarily focusing on all the exact same points for our issues with episodes, but there does seem to be a lot of overlap. That episode really sucked, especially because the entire first half was exclusively about Fishcreep. The second half...was improved because at least Usagi was acting normal, but if you wait until the second half to do anything fun, well, the second half is where several minutes of copy+paste action and resolution happens, so there's not really all that much time if you haven't already set stuff up. That SU episode is one of my season 1 favorites. It shouldn't be, because it's so dumb, but it is. Also, I did read your 30 page research paper on Sailor Moon Sailor Stars from the previous page, but as I haven't seen it (and also I don't usually analyze shows nearly as deeply as that), reading is basically all I can do, .

Final episode for today, episode 13: You guys said the animation in this season was better, but as someone currently mostly skipping past the action sequences that are apparently supposed to shine, everyone seems to inexplicably look a little weirder and uglier than they used to. I said this was the final episode for today, but then the preview for the next one started playing and it's the Minako episode, so I'm hoping I can end on a good note here because even though she hasn't appeared very much this season, when she has, she's still been herself and making me laugh...although if this is HER episode, that probably means bad things are going to happen to her and I might regret this, but then again I can just right arrow past that and pretend it didn't happen so I guess it's okay; also, the more I get done now, the less I have later:

Definitely seemed weird. It's something I almost overlooked because...based on Makoto's general personality type, you'd almost *think* it would make sense for her stronger personality type...until you think back and reflect and realize that it's simply not the case: Makoto has always been lovey-dovey empathetic and a patient believer in others, and it's really more of a Rei thing if it was going to be anyone. Okay, so...I must have misplaced the first five episodes, because the second episode is actually episode 6. I don't know where they went, so I'm just going to pretend that I know what's going on and keep going.

In another life where Usagi wasn't already destined to be Neo, maybe they could've both been proper man-haters together. Hell, the only other dudes Usagi ever attracted were Umino at the beginning of season 1...and Ail...and Price Demande...and probably a whole host of other dudes I'm forgetting about right now, but ignore all that because it doesn't support my point.

The first explanation, that they just went together for most people who were actually read the manga at the time, probably makes more sense, but the other explanation is funnier, so I vote that. If I know anything about specifically arrogant artists/creators, they have a tendency to think fans just "didn't understand" or were "biased" or running on "nostalgia" as a result of watching the original show 20 years ago or whatever. Huh. Yeah. Figures. That does hint at more input from her, but who knows at this point. Truth still is, considering that the creative team took their hat and went to do something else after SuperS, is that the Toei messed it up. Hard. Oh by the way, something I haven't talked about. By the time the anime began airing they didn't even have the stock footage ready for it. The new transformations by Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi-Moon and their new attack was... only partially on screen for the first two episodes. If that doesn't give any more credence to the troubled production theory, then what does? Probably more likely he was just being diplomatic: no producer for a show is going to be like "oh yeah we've had to do complete re-writes of the show for the past few seasons because the stuff in the manga was straight up unworkable trash", especially not for a liked author. I tried to go through some of the manga to see what it had to say about Helios, but this stuff is really difficult to even skim through: there's just so little that's fun or likable about it, everything is so danged serious almost all of the time outside of like the beginning of an arc, and it seems really repetitive. How did they ever make anything out of this?

This seems like the same kind of specious reasoning that anti-vaxxers use to say vaccines cause autism. Yes, people who get vaccines also sometimes have autism...but unless the rates of autism between vaxxers and anti-vaxxers is significantly different (never mind the issue of reporting - I would imagine anti-vaxxers would be much less likely to bring in their kids to get tested for autism to begin with), then what are we talking about? Anti-vaxxers being worried about it is true to form - why are the experts?

Hope either/both are able to return. The NFL desperately needs a minor league to allow guys who are good athletes but bad at the football opportunities to grow, and while the CFL in of itself hasn't been exactly great for that, it's certainly a lot better than nothing. Drew Brees retired. Don't think we have any Saints fans here, but still kind of significant news. (e): Also, in Packers news, we just paid Aaron Jones a boatload of money...after having drafted a RB in the second round last year, who even looked quite impressive in the limited playtime he had behind two good backs. Ugh: I was so ready for him to walk and get overpaid by a different team. Paying RBs just...hasn't work out for basically anyone recently - I'd so much rather have the All-Pro center who was one of the critical component behind our collective RBs' success (as well as our QB's MVP season...), but I guess the Packers' brass feels differently. I guess Jones was only paid about 9 million a year with some additional incentives to earn an additional 3 million...and not a lot of it is guaranteed - compared to Elliot's 15 million a year with a big chunk of it guaranteed from a couple of years ago, I guess it's not the end of the world...but then again, Ezekiel Elliot has been an absolute workhorse every year but this past one, so eh.
