I've been playing some Gothic 3 but I feel burned out, so I'll probably store the save games for later. Initially, I thought it's really good, but you kind of get tired of fetch quests after a while. It's the same reason why I've put The Witcher on hold. So I've gone back to some of my go-to games and now I'm playing Unreal Tournament 3. The UT series has always been a go-to kind of thing for me, and UT3 is no different. I'm having a lot of fun with Duel and Greed modes.

For ever good news (this new project) there's gotta be a bad one to balance it out (Kevin Saunders leaving). That's life I guess. We can only wish him success in any future endeavors! Yes, that's probably the case. And Anthony Davis is probably on board as well. I remember reading this interview with George Ziets (which was taken around the time he left Obsidian if I remember right) and thinking that it would be awesome if he worked on an original IP. I can't wait to find out more details about this project, assuming it moves beyond the drawing board of course.

I've picked up Gothic 3. Again. Main reason for doing so is that I added another GB of RAM to my system. It plays smoothly now, and thanks to the Community Patch 1.7.2 melee A.I. is significantly improved (though the game is much harder), plus the character system was tweaked and balanced a bit as well. It's amazing how much work the community packed into this patch. Kudos to them!

Babble - Sun Beautiful song! Heard it on the radio a while back and got the full album (called "Ether") just a few days ago. No YouTube link, but you can go here for samples.

Parov Stelar - The Flame Love the Orson Welles sample on this track, taken from the 'The Shadow' radio drama series. "Who knows what evils lurk in the hearts of men?" Man, that thing first aired in the 1930s.

Rest in peace Michael.

What car would you like to have if you could pick anyone
fastpunk replied to Nihilus5078's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'm more partial to the Zonda F myself, but whatever, the Zonda is ridiculously good looking; best super car of the last 5-6 years imho. But I wouldn't want to own one, since supercars are quite fragile. So for my pick, I've always had a soft spot for the Porsche 911 series, specially the 993 generation. And out of the 993s I've always liked the 1995 911 Turbo the most. Here are some pics: -
Been to a small LAN party at a local internet cafe. We played a few games (AvP2, UT3, CoD1), but the main venue was CoD4, and it was a blast.

I saw Blade Runner, for the third time. The more times I see it, the more I love it.

In retrospect, those two Alpha Protocol dialogues that were shown towards the end felt really spot on. Voice acting, dialog lines, tempo, body animations, it all just works. I hope they're all this good.

Thanks for the heads up Matthew! This was excellent. The sad part is, we get reminded once more of how interesting Van Buren was.

Brian Eno & Harold Budd - An Echo of Night It's night over here, so the song's very fitting.

Dunno if anyone read that recent DA:O E3 preview from Rock Paper Shotgun, the one that wasn't very positive. Well, now you can see for yourself what RPS' John Walker saw (or at least part of it). Hope you're in the mood for luv... http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=...8654&ref=mf Gotta say, the voice acting is awful. I'm still on the fence about this game, will probably wait until it's out, read some impressions on forums before making a decision.

I am playing nothing right now. I'll resume playing IWD2 as I loved it so far, I just needed to focus on some other things lately, so gaming received little love. I did try out NFS Undercover a few days ago, and it was... dear god! It was one of the most soulless and joyless gaming experiences I've ever had. The less said the better.

I don't think there's going to be a problem with rushing it because of time constraints, it's a personal project after all. I welcome the modifications he's making to rules, most of them seem pretty common sense changes anyway. And it's especially good if these changes help balance the game better.

Depeche Mode - Fly on the Windscreen (the live version from the Devotional tour, which is reworked a bit, like many of their older tracks were for said tour) Ah, good old Depeche, I kind of lost touch with them, should go out and buy their latest album. I hear the mainstream press didn't like it too much, which is a good sign actually.

Rom Di Prisco - Go Down (UT3 Remix) UT fans will recognize this track, as it is a remix of the theme from DM-Deck 16 and DM-HyperBlast (which was composed by Alex Brandon if I'm not mistaken). Despite initial doubts, I'm quite glad I decided to get the Unreal Tournament 3 OST. It's frickin' mental! The way they are used in the game itself is pretty sad though (broken into fragments and made action-sensitive), it fails to highlight how ballsy these songs are.

Pineapple Express is a bit overrated indeed. It was mildly entertaining, but not really as good as they say. Staying in weed-related territory, the last movie I saw was Dub Echoes... it's actually a documentary, about the origins of Dub music and it's influence on modern music and music making techniques. The documentary was not particularly well made, but the subject itself was interesting enough to keep me watching.

Tosca - Rondo Acapricio

Hird - Water Under My Bridges, from 2004's 'Moving On'... awesome album, but criminally overlooked.

E3 developer walkthrough video
fastpunk replied to funcroc's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
The AI looks anemic, most NPCs just stand there waiting to get killed. Would be nice if they'd take cover every once in a while. Otherwise, it looks fun, and this particular mission seems like it would lend itself well to a stealth approach. Just wish we could hear the actual word exchange between Sie and Michael, to get a feel of the writing and tone. -
The boss fights will come, don't worry. And while most of them are pretty standard rate boss fights, there's one that's quite interesting. Actually, it's not even one fight, it's a series of encounters... won't say more. It's a good game, Dead Space. It's probably the closest thing to a System Shock 3 we'll ever get.

Lucky bastard! I'm probably going to sit all day at the computer, making custom furniture pieces for my virtual house. No plans for tonight though... I hope it rains so I can play Thief they way it was meant to be played.
