  1. I don't think this is something that happened in the past month or whatever. There have been many restoration mods and projects over the years, of varying depth and quality (many broke up since it's hard to coordinate large groups of modders). It's probably more to do with there being a greater number of experienced modders now than before that are able to tackle complex mods, apart from reskinning Mandalorians and editing .utis. I mean yeah, TSLRP looks essential for TSL, but I'm equally anticipating the new Brotherhood of Shadow mod for KotOR. Some of these graphics 'improvement' mods do look stunning indeed.
  2. Well, it doesn't continue from KOTOR in the sense that you are not Revan fighting the True Sith, right? Because otherwise, it is a sequel, it's the same universe/galaxy and timeline, there are recurring characters and themes from the first game. After all, the game is called Knights of the Old Republic (not Revan' Saga), so it would only make sense to see different people from that era.
  3. Your welcome. Beyond those gameplay mods, there are also a few content mods that you may find interesting. Have a look at Lucasforums, where they have a catalog of some of them, as well as links and further information. Filefront also has a large collection.
  4. Have a look here. The mods you may find interesting are the Hardcore Mod by beancounter, Game Balance Mod by Achilles and Putting the Sith Back in the Sith Lords by Prime. From what I gather they make enemies stronger and I think the Game Balance mod looks better. They probably aren't compatible with each other though, so excercise some caution.
  5. Your stats don't really seem out of the ordinary, but it does appear as if something has effected the enemies. Generally speaking it isn't that hard a game, so long as you figure out a few strategies and past level 25, you Jedi will be near-indestructable, thanks to near-endless FP pool even with Weaponmasters. Hell, the only place I was 'killed' a few times was fighting the Handmaidens on Telos with a LS consular and that's a side-quest that doesn't really affect the game that much. Try uninstalling the mods and see if that changes things. Maybe one of them has affected the difficulty. If not, check out some of the hardcore mods.
  6. Sounds like something is unbalanced in your game. In normal mode, it usually takes a few more hits to kill enemies and they're supposed to scale up to your level. There are however a few hardcore mods that make the game harder. Browse through filefront and i'm sure you'll find them. Beyond that, I suppose you can vary your game by using more of your non-Jedi and droids in combat, since tricked out lightsabers, force jump and force storm can make mince meat of most enemies.
  7. I think the console is supposed to be invisible. I've never used it myself, KSE is a lot easier to use. Just be careful if you mess around with anything else other than your inventory and character stats...
  8. For a list of cheats and how to enable them in-game, check this page. The easier way though is to download KSE, a save game editor, that allows you to do a lot. You can find that here.
  9. I don't recall anybody else claiming to have a team of hired guns/programmers ready to do the remainder of the work, based on TG's work. How is your team getting along with it anyway? Can we expect it before TG's?
  10. As far as I'm aware, mounting images of the CDs with stuff like Daemon Tools will conflict with the SecuROM disc protection, giving you that error. Don't think there is away around that.
  11. Actually, the 'no-cd' patch (which really is a crack, therefore not suitable to discuss here since that is illegal) will cause the very crashing problem you mention. So unless you play the game with the original discs, it ain't going to work. The 'no-cd' patch is not the latest version of the game, which is required in order to get the game to run with your card. Mounting ISOs doesn't work either. I tried myself when my Play disc got smashed, but the only workaround was getting a new disc.
  12. Have you updated the game to the latest version? It is a must! I have a very similar intel card, so the game should probably work. With regards to the drivers, you probably need to install them manually. My Dell laptop is a bit like that. Download the .exe of the drivers you want to install and rather than double-click it, right-click and select to extract all of the files in a folder on your desktop. The you need to open your device manager (through system properties), click on 'display adapters' and double click on your card. Select the 'driver' tab and then 'update driver...' It will ask for Windows to connect to Windows Update to search for software. Click 'No, not this time'. Then select 'Install from a list or specific location (advanced) and on then 'Don't search, I will choose the driver to install'. On the next page click 'Have Disk...' and it will prompt you to locate a .inf file (igxp32.inf). You will find that in the 'graphics' subfolder of the driver on your desktop. Select it and then it will install.
  13. There is also a freeware programme called 3D Analyze, that can (apart from emulating some 3D stuff for older cards) make your graphics card look like something else, to 'trick' the game, in case your hardware can actually support what is required.
  14. You know, I've been in bands and used to think that exchanging in-jokes with my drummer on-stage would entertaining the audience during the awkward silence when a guitar string needed to be changed. It's actually not. In any case, the good news is that there seems to be some substantial progress going on.
  15. It does appear rather out of character to hype basically nothing. Then again, others make a career out of it in politics and advertising.
  16. Who wants to hitch a ride in my DeLorian? All I ask is for some Plutonium money!
  17. I don't think the enabling of cheats is at fault.
  18. It was my impression that since TG have respectfully been consistent with the 'when it's done' thing, that they would be careful about generating hype and (possibly unfounded?) expectations. What other purposes do cryptic messages and a 'final trailer' you can't watch serve, other than to indicate a certainty that the end is right around the corner? In any case, it remains to be seen, hopefully next weekend I (and many others) will have reason to re-install TSL. But owed? God no [and I consider myself an antitheist]! I'm more amused by the whole situation than anything else. If I'm owed anything by anyone, it's a better Watchmen film, for which I paid
  19. It remains to be seen. I have the suspition that the wait will be somewhat anti-climatic, like announcing a vague release date for January 2010 or something. Hell, those 2 weeks passed and now it's 'wait until Saturday'. If it turns out to be anything less of an improved public build (compared to the leaked one), this '2 weeks' hype will only contribute to further flamming and baiting.
  20. By private I mean that you have to be invited to view (via youtube), it's not available to everyone. Have a look for yourself here.
  21. Two weeks wait, for a trailer that is set to private. What's the point of that? It seems a bit lame to me.
  22. Windu is making it up. There is no mention of such a game on any of the websites he mentions, so I'm guessing it's an attempt to April Fool everyone. KOTOR3 might happen, but I'm guessing that the MMO will give Lucas the incentive to make one or not. In any case, this is not even the appropriate forum to discuss this.
