  1. I occasionally use mind trick, but I wish there was a DS option of being able to kill the target while still friendly.
  2. You probably want to post this in the restorations mod's forum. As for the mod working, just look in said forum for a thread about what's been restored and see if it shows up. The restored content starts showing up on Telos. Did you follow up the installation notes?
  3. How much RAM do you have? It could be a case of not enough resources for fraps to run properly, or maybe it needs some configuring.
  4. TSL is a fairly old game, so it shouldn't cost you more than
  5. I'm pretty sure I saw that option on my new playthrough with the Restoration Mod on the PC. In any case, check this walkthrough for any future issues. It's fairly comprehensive.
  6. Random question, but did you update the game to the latest version? You can't use the game's updater and need to do that manually from Lucas' website.
  7. I don't see Team Gizka having the beta up on their page. You sure about it? In any case, as I said, look in the respective developer team's forum for more information on your problem. It sounds like it could be a conflict of mods or a corrupt save.
  8. Are you talking about Team Gizka's Restoration Project, or the recent TSL Restored Content Mod? If the first, you probably won't find any support since it's a leaked beta. If it's about the second, you may want to check out the TSLRCM forums for more information on bugs.
  9. Because he still needs to override the securom protections to get images and cd-r's to 'play' properly and it seems like a roundabout kinda way of asking help for a crack.
  10. You probably need to buy new discs, unless you can contact Lucas about them sending you replacement discs. Anything else sounds illegal.
  11. Apart from cheating and discussing your lightsaber with Atton, I don't think there is a guaranteed place you can find one. I believe the loot is generated mostly at random.
  12. The game doesn't install any updates without asking. If I also remember correctly, you can't use the in-game updater anymore and have to apply the game patches manually. Version 2.00.424 is probably the general release version. If you want to edit game weapons and armour, you needn't downgrade. That is basic .uti editing which you can do easily with Kotor Tool. You basically install it, export the KotOR or TSL game files, edit them with Kotor Tool's editor (statistics, bonuses etc) and then drop your edited game files in your override folder. For more tutorials and information on that, check out Holowan Labs
  13. Um, try reinstalling the game from scratch and not applying the patches. I don't think you can downgrade any further than the general release version of a game, unless you're after a pre-release beta or something. In which case, you're probably out of luck. For an 'older' version of the game engine, I suppose you may want to look into getting the original KotOR. What programmes are you referring to and what do you mean by 'experiment'?
  14. I believe they've addressed a number of major gamestopping bugs in relation to the content they've restored, but haven't bothered with little things, like the odd camera angle, syntax or spelling errors.
  15. I doubt he's written off the past four years, but I also doubt he gave a damn for four years (from the looks of it, it looks like any mod work has mostly been untouched for the past year and a half, with sporadic bouts of work). But then again, with so many awesome games that have come out since TSL, it's only natural that he would have moved on to other things ('real' life included). The fire has gone out. In any case, are there any plans of releasing the latest/last beta, or is that simply going to dissappear? With the amount of modders out there at the moment, it would be interesting to see if anyone picks up where TG have (apparently) decided to call it quits.
  16. Are you using any mods? It sounds like a trigger hasn't fired or something. Try loading an earlier save.
  17. Now now, there is no need for any scorn! TG might have 'failed' to deliver the goods, but they were significant in inspiring others to get involved with similar projects. People learned from their mistakes when they didn't. Anyway, back to the topic. Has anyone met any significant bugs or weirdness yet? I'm planning on reinstalling TSL after a good couple years, so any tips in that respect would be really appreciated.
  18. Comparison's are inevitable, but it probably would be better to start a different thread since they are different projects with a different scope. Plus it will give less opportunity for people to whine about one or other. Back to TG's project: Does anybody know to what degree TSLRP beta is complete? And also, are they going to release what work they have for others to play, complete work on or whatever?
  19. Point taken! Marx (ho-hum) once said that history that repeats itself is at first a comedy and then a tragedy. What the world needs is some good time anarchism, Bakunin-style.
  20. Then you have no chance of running it on your system.
  21. My laptop has pretty much the same specs and both games run, with minor graphics issues (shiny silver textures appear white, some force effects don't show etc). You *need* a CD/DVD drive though, because stuff like DaemonTools, cracked exes or whatever other you might use will make TSL crash after the intro video. Ripping the CDs won't get you beyond installation, as you need the 'Play' CD/DVD in your drive. Look into getting an external drive.
  22. ...and after the thing called communism ended you decided to adopt another horrible thing called capitalism that has created great social imballances, that has essentially brought back a type of oligarchy of a few privileged on top, that communism sought to eradicate in the first place. Full circle, eh?
  23. Older people's hair is supposed to go grey. Well, white actually, there are no grey hairs.
  24. You could always check up on TG's forums and hassle people over there. My guess is that not much has happened though and I expect a message/announcement along the lines of 'boohoo, here's a beta we won't bother completing, there's another mod by another team now, so leave us alone' not being too far off.
  25. Silverfox's Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge and SithSpectre's Revan Animated Cape mods are reasons enough to reinstall KotOR. Seriously good stuff. To all the people complaining about time delays etc, think of the last Guns N' Roses record! Fans waiting over a decade died waiting for that to come out and the ones who were around to listen to it, probably wish it never came out in the first place! Silly metalheads!
