  1. I 100% your 100% good sir. I myself am waiting until they actually finish the game, before supporting them with a finished price tag. Things didn't work on launch (literally - level scaling flat didn't work for example), there was alot of bugs and performance issues, the higher difficulties weren't actually balanced - having to be done as we speak post release. Etc. It was/is a mess that they pushed out the door because business and completely relied on hype and the gaming communities general impatience, to sell it either way while they still worked on finishing it and getting a much bigger and free QA/beta test pool. Not something i personally want to support/encourage. While I completely sympathize with your criticism, I still think any serious cRPG fan should support Obsidian with a full price purchase (if you can afford it). They proved with first game that they will fix the issues, but the fact is they are making ambitious projects, trying to overdeliver despite relatively limited resources, in a complex genre that has been abandoned by AAA publishers. They also don't try to nickle-and-dime with cosmetic DLC or microtransactions which are extremely common in RPGs these days. For those reasons and for the abundant quality content in this game, I believe they deserve the financial support of the core gamers, even though I agree, the game was released in an unfinished state (and it still is even now). The fact is, no one else besides maybe Larian (DOS is similar but not exactly the same genre) is making quality games of epic scope in this genre anymore. It seems like sales figures haven't been exactly stellar, so they need all the support they can get, especially at full price, if there is to be any hope of seeing another game like this any time soon. That said, if you haven't started your game yet and have the patience to wait a bit longer, I think you will have a much better experience in about a week or 2, once they released the first major patch. Besides the difficulty issues (which are alleviated somewhat by mods), there are still game breaking issues like bugged saves which won't load (I myself lost over 20 hours of gameplay on my 2nd playthrough). TL;DR buy now to support Obsidian and wait until the first patch for a better experience. I agree with NiceGuy I also say that obsidian not big game company so they got get money back to pay bills, so they really need support. We don't support they be stuck making games with smaller budgets which will limit what they can do. If you look at POE 1 had its issues on release but obsidian worked with community fix them made game much better. Yes I do complain about things but not because I like complaining I want help obsidian make game better and I think they actually like hear people complain in good way so they to can improve what they do. As said they don't try microtransactions and all the annoying stuff lot bigger game companies do who don't need money so much so yes obsidian I think are one better companies and I don't make much money as carer but I will pay for obsidian game. Big companies I often wait sales and buy as don't want support there bad practices with microtransactions. Yeah i agree but if they make stupid decisions like not finishing off the game properly and then release it in 4 different releases (base plus 3 dlcs) and also the base game is so bugged and not playable due to the difficulty issues then they deserve to drop out of the top 50 selling games on steam which is excactly what has happened, Deadfire is currently not selling wonder why
  2. Well whren josh sawyer commmented on it he said "Deadfire will be about the same size as POE1" I guess now we have confirmed he meant POE1 without the expansions witch is very disappointing and kind of misleading aswell
  3. Wow stunning results in the Poll. Maybe this is why Deadfire isnt selling so well. Im thinking about putting off my playthrough untill after the three expansions have been released after viewing these poll results
  4. Yeah these polls are very mixed aswell. Not really a clear answer here the highest & Bigger then POE1 base but not as big As POE1 plus the White march expansions (10 votes [34.48%] - View) Second Highest Smaller then POE1 (White march not included) (7 votes [24.14%] - View)
  5. Graphics Combat Mechanics Magic items Level Progression Voice acting
  6. hope it is, did you finish the first game plus white march?
  7. yeah and the level cap has been increased 4 levels remember. Before i stopped my playthrough i was rapidly going up levels. I personally think the game is to small. The game is supposed to be about developing your characters and influencing the world around you. What is the point in doing this if the game ends abruptly. I am incredibly dissapointed they didnt make deadfire significantly bigger then POE1 + The WM expansions. I get the feeling that Obsidian have done "just enough" for the game to be big enough to hit the market. Like i said i didnt finish my playthrough but the feeling i got when i was playing the game was that i was rapidly burning through it and it was about to end very quickly. In other words we definately didnt get another Baldurs Gate 2, which everyone was hoping for..............sighhhhhhhhhh
  8. very mixed results on poll so far. Can everyone who has actually played the game please vote so we can get a good poll result.
  9. Yeah POE1 had: - endless paths - first city - second city - stronghold - dryford - drysdale (i think) as the major areas IMO i highly doubt deadfire is a big as this plus the White march expanions. I personally think it is no where near that big but im really keen to see what other think
  10. There has been alot of mixed reports about this so lets see what the community thinks. This will be a very interesting poll. And guys just to clarify please take these factors mainly into consideration: - hours of gameplay - amount of quests - length of quests ect.... When i say size i am not necessarily referring to how big the location and world maps are. There is no point in having huge maps if there is only small amounts of things to do in them. I quit my gameplay from because of the difficulty issues and am waiting for the next big patch. I must admit i am concerned that the game is to small from what i saw as i hit high levels very quickly and the areas i did explore in Neketaka had very little to do in each map of the city. I didnt notice a huge improvement from POE1s city map. Witch is strange because they acknowledged that the city in POE1 was to small with very little to do in it and they said they where going to make Neketaka huge. I definitely didn't notice that at all/
  11. is there a way we can "escalate " this bug so it definitely gets fixed in the next patch? at the moment anyone who wants to roll a rogue is pretty much screwed
  12. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97738-invisibility-pestilance-cloud-bugged/?hl=invisibility At least they recognized its an issue, really hope it gets fixed in next patch because it is quite the pain in the but
  13. can this please be fixed in next patch ? very big bug for a rogue at the moment?
  14. Hey guys I love playing rogues but was really disappointed to find out that deep wounds and other rogue damaging abilities ruins invisibility for a rogue. I consider this a really big bug because it really really effects a rogue very badly. I wouldn't call a rogue broken and unplayable because of it but man does it suck with this happening. Has this been acknowledged by Obsidian and do they intend on fixing it? I am hoping that they fix it in the next patch because rogues are currently very severely ruined at the moment because of it. thanks
  15. Yeah it would be good if they fixed that about the rogues
  16. thats dissapointing to here, maybe play the game when you are in a better mood
  17. i had this happen aswell, just restart the game it worked for me
