  1. My cousin's hairdresser's sister's dog-walker's brother's ex-girlfriend's mailman's donkey's previous-owner's workmate's contacts have said that K3 is being made in complete secret by trained monkeys in India and it will come out by Xmas and it won't have any bugs and it will be the best yet and everything we want is in it and it will be awesome...

    ...

    ...

    ...sigh...reality sucks

  2. Oh no I'm gonna ask questions again..

Doesn't an attribute of 13 give a +2 Mod? I'm quite confused about why people avoid putting odd numbers in attributes during character creation. Something about rounding down??

Just to confirm, my Sentinel gets 3 + 2 (from Mod)=5 skill points/level right? My Weapon Master should get 1 + 2 (from Mod)=3 skill points/level?

Roger I'm increasing my Awareness skill rank but what should be the recommended value to get the most out of the game, 10, 15 or 20?

I'm assuming NPCs can't help me with unlocking those 3 particular containers. I'm guessing I've to take up to 20 for Security then?

Attributes give +1 to the modifier at each even number. It's not so much avoiding odd numbers, it's that there's usually not any point being there unless preparing to boost it further.

That amount of skill points sounds right.

With awareness - I think that 15 is all you need to get everything as far as conversation options - someone confirm?

NPC's can open other containers, although there ARE the occasions when you're solo - just whether you want to forgo the extra XP and risk broken items...

  3. Ok I have decided to get as far into the character storylines as possible and the only character left for me is the desciple. So i start a female Jedi Guardian and start about my business on Peragus. When it comes time to free Atton i enter the room and I am greeted with

"Are you an angel?" followed by

"Aw, Im just kidding. Thats the worst line ive ever used, I hope some poor kid doesnt start using it." This is the first time that I have ever gotten this greeting from Atton. I replied that he should keep his eyes up and i was responded to me with

" Im Atton. I actually wasnt supposed to make it into the final game, but i was created at the last minute. Blame my agent. I was actually slated for a Spin-off to Jedi Knight, but I dont want to talk about what happened "there.""

Has anyone else ever gotten this Dialog from Atton? Im on Xbox BTW.

I've never seen it - but I've heard about it. No idea what causes it to come up - maybe having played it a few times...

What he says is true though - Jaden Korr (main character in Jedi Academy) was originally going to be call Atton, but they changed it :verymad:

  4. Kreia is really, really testy. Every time I talk to her, I either lose influence, or dont gain any. What conversation topics/questions/answers do I use to gain some Influence with her?

Also, how do I get Atton to open up to me? He refuses to reveal his past [influence:Failure], and even after soem twilek told me something about him on Nar Shadda, he still wont talk.

Whenever you get the chance - saying things to Kreia like "yes - I will think on that" will gain influence. She basically wants to be your mentor - treat her like it. She doesn't want to be revered or feared, just respected.

As far as Atton - he can have influence gained easily as a dark-sider: kill innocents and tell him it was the right thing to do (or whatever).

If you don't want to go dark side, you have to be a bit more careful and take your chances with him - be nice to him and show that you trust him...he'll come around :p

  5. Metadigital forgot to add that modding an X-Box is illegal and not something he'd implying you should do. Its also why the TSLPR isn't doing their work for the X-Box version.

Thought someone should add that before Microsoft starts shouting at Meta....

Yes - bad moderator. bad bad moderator! :)

  6. if its true that boba was supposed to beat vader, im going to be very pissed off at who ever writes this "canon"

Nope - Boba was never really going to beat Vader. The biggest boost for Fett in this is that:

    a) He stood his ground for a good while; and

    b) He survived the encounter.

Read about it on Wookipedia under Boba Fett's profile.

  7. Not sure if this has been done yet, but here goes:

    General Theoretical Configuration to KOTOR3:

KOTOR3 primarily takes place in "force dead" regions of the unknown regions. All "New" planets with "new" (aka not seen in SW before) aliens (like Rakatan, Trandoshians, etc. Really need only approx 6 races if going with the usual starter world, 4 world, finisher world theme)

Timeframe is 5 years (common SW timeframe) after KOTOR2, approx 10 years after KOTOR1...

Opposition would be either the "true Sith", or, if LA won't go with that, the obligatory puppet empire of the True Sith with plans to attack the still rebuilding Republic. Said opposition will be primarily non-force sensitive due to lack of force at location, however, the option to use "Force stand ins" such as mental powers, mutations, fancy cybernetics that unleash lightning / wave pulses etc. to mimic Force abilities exist (and can possibly be adapted to "Jedi-fy" other PCs)

Main PCs are Revan & Exile, with the Droids (T3 & HK, maybe G0T0, outside chance of Remote being sent to help Revan), along for the ride. Remaining party slots to be filled via "local aquisition" of PCs.

Backstory should be written around "Canon", which, if I've read correctly, is LSM Revan DSF Exile. Plotline should be malleable enough to have 4 renditions (canon, LSR/LSE, DSR/DSE, DSR/LSE). Gender only affects he/she commentary & flashbacks to love interest, both relatively minor points in the execution of the plot, if even called for at all.

Primary Motivations: LS characters seek to save Republic, DS characters seek to destroy / subdue / take over threat to preserve "their" Empire/Republic. In cases of cross motivations, the LS character sees DS character as necessary evil & redemption chance, while DS character sees LS character as tool & potential turned ally. This allows all 4 plot stories to be dovetailed together nicely...

    Levels/classes/skills:

Revan - L1 soldier/scout/scoundrel (Player choice or culled from save) due to lack of Force & atrophy of original skills. Keeps uploaded stats / new Revan gets bonus points. Feats reset due to atrophy, possibly allowed to keep lightsaber use (and saber) due to extraordinary practice with it.

Exile - Having severed ties to KOTOR2 party, the Exile is right back at where he started KOTOR2. Exile class is Player choice/culled from save, and starts game as only Jedi available. Brought lightsaber with him...

    Party to face aforementioned enemies:

Revan, Exile, Droids (HK47, T3, G0T0, Possibly Remote as assistant to Revan / Exile much as he helped Bao-Dur) aboard Ebon Hawk, which brings group to the field. One "local" per planet is drafted into party, preferably all aliens (so 4-6 aliens, 2 main PCs, 2-3(4 if remote is a separate droid) for approx. 10 people in Party, just about the same amount as was in KOTOR2.

    Potential Plot Elements:

Revan reprising leader of Mandalorian War war as he is attempting to ferment rebellion in unknown region, Exile comes along and helps Revan inspire the locals & is "field commander" aka General.

Ways to give characters force powers, whether it's Exile's Wound passing around or being inflicted on someone else, finding ways to reconnect to force over long distances, Revan actually being a force battery and not knowing it till appropriately critical moment, removing the source of the region's force barrier, etc. etc.

Explore the relationship between Revan/Exile's actions in Mandalorian War vs Jedi request / potential plans.

Surprise visits by prior PCs - Canderous/Mandalore most likely, but any number of them can show up, like Carth bringing a ship / small fleet, Bastilla/Handmaiden-Diciple/Pick-a-Jedi's new council also heading out instead of replicating prior council's inactivity, etc.

    Oh, it'll be an X-Box 360 / PC exclusive... :)

Some of those Ideas are good - I like the alternatives to force powers in the force dead worlds - although keep in mind that in force dead worlds, the jedi won't be able to use their force powers either - since the powers come from the surrounding force...which won't be there in force dead worlds...

A lot of people have suggested having Revan or Exile as the PC (and I've responded repeatidly) and I still say that that's a BAD idea - mainly because people will feel cheated with just being given the same character they've already created without any advancement, and because it would take a lot of configuration to get them set up again. Having both of them is even worse - having to go through TWO character creations is too much.

Personally I think Revan and Exile should never actualy show up in this game as playable characters (party members) or even as people to talk to. Having them in the story with people talking about them is great, but you should never find them alive - like they sacrifice themselves to destroy the true sith or something...

Having the droids is very plausible (particularly HK and T3), but not G0-T0 - he was a prick!

FYI - the 'canon' storyline of K1 & K2 is LSM Revan, and LSF Exile. Of course there's been huge affront at that being officialised in K3 that I doubt it would be enforced. Simply setting it up in the background like in K2 would be sufficient. I also hate the idea of loading save files - I'm on a 360 now, my KOTOR saves are on my original Xbox...problem noted :)

  8. I think you will git more responses from the Bioware K1 forums then here at the Obsidian K2 forums.

    Oh I dunno - with Trask, none of K1 OR 2 could've happened...cause...y'know...Revan couldn't open doors without him :)

  9. I would sooner play as Boba Fett doing missions for Vader....he could potentially have a lightsaber anyways.

I seem to recall something about Boba Fett having fight Vader in a Lightsabre duel at some point, so I assume he does have a sabre or two in his private collection.

(And in case you wondered, no Fett didn't win the fight but Vader let him live anyway).

I read that - Fett said something like "You're not the only one who's killed Jedi". But he was pretty outmatched since he didn't really have the skill with it. Sounds like a great fight though :)

  10. a wookie jedi? O_o

There were a few Wookie Jedi around the movie times (there was a Wookie master during the PT), and Chewbacca's son - Lowbacca - was a Jedi.

However GL said that there will be no more Wookie Jedi - still not 100% sure why...just seems mean

    Imagine it though:

    "Rawarr!!"

    *THOOM THOOM KSSSH*!!

    "ARGH!"

    "Raaaaawarr!!!"

    :)

  11. Just to mention - some of the better stat-robes, imo, are a lot uglier. I couldn't stand most of them, so I often went thru the whole game using just the black Padawan robe, because I'm character-clothes-snob and they looked the best on-character. On the female models, anyway.

Oh yeah - the dark jedi robes look so much better. I personally really like the armour/robe ones that you can put enhancements on (Zeison Sha Robes etc) - I always thought they looked cool. In K1 - when I got Juhani, my female guardian stole her red jedi robes and gave her the padawan ones I had :aiee:

  12. I've finished Telos, Dantoinne, and Dxun/Onderan and I still don't have any Jedi robes, although I have a TON of armor. Where can I buy/find a Jedi robe with good modifiers, the item randomizer doesn't seem to be helping me out? I know there was a scavenger on Dantoinne that sold some but they were way to expensive at the time. I have since bought a Padawan robe at Iziz but I know I'll need something more substantial.

Patience grasshopper. If you book them, they will come...

Seriously though, they do show up - you have to search anywhere and everywhere that you go. If you haven't got one after Dantooine then you've either not looked hard enough, or been SERIOUSLY unlucky. Fighting dark jedi tends to yield them (of course they're not so plentiful in K2 as in K1), and they do show up in random drops...just keep looking bud - you'll find some. You watch though, next time you play through you'll find 50 of them by the same stage as you are now :)

  13. As someone said before, I did miss that tournament arena thing. I sort of liked that. It was a good way to get money at the beginning and pretty simple enough to get through. I'd be a bit happier if they brought that back.

Someone mentioned the Arena from Fable as a comparison - hell yes!!! :- Also the Jade Empire Arena was pretty cool - though the constant loading times got really annoying...

I really like Arena/tournament type side-quests as a really good way to gain rewards (xp, money, and items) as an alternative to dungeon crawls and random encounters. Plus it just feels more satisfying :shifty:.

  14. i think its pretty gud but i dont want to play as revan or the exile again . i do want them in the game but not a playable charecter .

It's funny how the general consensus is that people don't want to play as revan or the exile (some people even think it would be an idea that would ruin the game...) and yet people constantly jump back onto the forums and say that they want it; only to be shot down by everyone else >_<

I for one think it would be awful to have the game as Revan or the Exile. The ways that the characters were left makes it nigh-on impossible for them to resurface, especially since they are so varied in what they could be (by how we played them). The only games I've seen that managed to play the recurring character were Baldur's Gate (by having BGII start with mid-level characters to follow on) and Jedi Knight (by having Kyle repeatedly give up the force)...I don't see KOTOR3 managing it...
