  1. Having just got my KOTOR game back from a friend (I'm sure he held it for ransom or something...) I'm able to relive many of these moments first hand.

Enjoying the banter between Mission and Zaalbar - with her telling him how he needs a bath and a suit! :)

And Carth stumbling all over his words when he tries to say how he doesn't trust anyone...my god that guy is Emo!!!

Just rescued Bastila - what a pompous @ss...I've played a male LS character this time around to achieve the romance with her - something I haven't gotten around to doing just yet...now I almost wanna go DS just to make her serve me!! >_<

Finally - the scene with Calo Nord counting down to the three aliens who just wanted to chat to him: "One? Two? Why is he counting? Is he counting how many there are of us against him?" :)

  2. new here so i dont know if anyone has said this yet, it would be awsome if k3 was about the 5 years between k1 &k2 durung the wars

Too limiting - the story would then have to fit in with K2 and would severely limit the RPG aspects allowed. The whole point of initially making this series in the "Old Republic" was to give them a relative free license for storylines and such, while not affecting canon plots.

  3. Uhh, Bio doesn't really have much to do with Black Isle. Black Isle was their publisher and its people gave some little help with Bio's early games such as BG's, but that's it.

My understanding was that Black Isle disbanded (or whatever the term would be) and basically formed Bioware and Obsidian - happy to be corrected on this but that was what I thought happened.

They've already made statements to the effect that they'd like to go back and revisit it, but this is no sure statement that they will. They can't make a statement that they will until they've started and gotten significantly into it that they feel confident with what is being created. You won't be able to end any speculation on who's going to make it until a contract is signed for someone to make it, anyway. Ultimately, a definitive statement requires them to be definitive about whether they're going to make it or not. Game companies don't plan on definitively making a game before they even have the manpower to work out the concepts. The most they can do is say they'd like to, which they have.

I know that - I was just trying to say something a bit more eloquent than "hurry the heck up!!"

  4. how about a smooth-talking scoundrel who's good with a blaster and has a wookie as their best friend and they're, like, really good and do great things...

oh wait - you wanted something original? :bat:

The one time I played table-top Star Wars in my role-playing phase, I made a Kel-Dor scout who used twin blasters and was basically a Star Wars Ranger...could be a fun character to write?

  5. Bioware and Obsidian are linked due to their combined history with Black Isle Studios (company which made Baldur's Gate).

Bioware opted to not make K2 and passed it on to Obsidian with LA's blessing. To make it easier, Bioware let Obsidian use the engine from K1.

    -------------------------

It really would be nice for SOMEONE to make some definitive statement about K3 instead of staying completely silent - even if it was "We're going to make it, just not yet" so then we can end the constant speculation on who's going to make it - and silence the sceptics who keep claiming that it's never going to happen :bat:

Anyhoo - I've just started playing my old K1 again (reading on these forums has got me nostalgic :)) and I would love for K3 to have more variety of classes to be (tech specialist etc.) and to make the level-up system much more like NWN in that you can take a level of whatever class you like (within reason) at each level up...thus when/if you become a jedi, you can still increase your original class to gain more there - this would particularly help if your initial class was something like Scoundrel (sneak attack) or Scout (uncanny dodge) and stuff like that...

Also - choosing your race would be nice...I'd love to play a kel-dor jedi like in Jedi Academy :)

  6. Since you're going ranged and blasters you would probably get best effect out of consular to start with - unless you really want the extra skillpoints from Sentinel.

Regarding your party - using another melee character will probably work, unless you need extra skills coming through. Handmaiden (assuming you're a male char) for the melee, and either Bao-Dur or T3 if you need skills (Bao-Dur is probably better since he's a better fighter).

HK cannot use melee weapons, he doesn't have the profiency, and cannot get it.

But wouldn't that just make it fun?

But really, if you're going to find strange and absurb ways to finish a game (not saying that is, but I can see the road this might be leading down) it's probably time to move onto another game. *SHOCK*

If you're referring to saying HK cannot use melee weapons - then it's not a choice, you physically cannot give him melee weapons (without a mod). Trust me - I LOVE the idea of HK wielding a big double sword :) The only better thought is T3 wielding two swords

Unfortunately the game doesn't allow either to be given them...I suppose you can just give them NO weapons and they may punch them or something...

  7. Once i'm in the catacombs and try to open door to Visquis lair, the cutscene appears. According to the walkthrough, Mira has to fight Hanharr, but she appears at the point where our exile friend stood -- in front of the door. I'm totally stuck here!!!

    Please help me!!!

Reload - rinse and repeat

  8. Woulda been cool if KOTOR 2 played like Fable. A Jedi has 'needs' to y'know. :)

YES imagine kelly Hu makin the noises that the "wives" make =)

With that bloody cokney accent? *shudder*

    "Short and sweet!"

EDIT: had to misspell 'cokney' to get it past the filter...grrr...

  9. Ok obviously none of you have ever had jobs, or even class assignments... there are things called deadlines. And TSLRP is so far past its deadline I can't imagine there will be much interest in it if this drags on into 2008. I'm just saying...

Just cause it's free doesn't mean we can't talk about it. If they were left to their own, they'd never get it done. At least this way we can encourage them to work harder.

And what they are doing is not a "job" or "class assignment" - in fact the closest description I can think of for TSLRP is a "hobby". They're doing it because they want to. Nobody is paying them (and the mod itself will be free) and they don't HAVE to do this in any contractural (sp?) sense. If they cancelled this project, then there would be no backlash other than a multitude of disappointed gamers.

Chancellor - you are doing nothing productive by abusing the RP developers. They are doing all KOTOR players a favour by doing this; you can't tell someone doing you a favour (unasked for) that they're not doing it fast enough. This mod will be done when it's done - get over it.

Nightshade - Flaming this guy is not going to help any either - you will only encourage them to fight harder for what they want to say, and make yourself look more petty in the process. You know how our mum's all said to ignore bullies and they'll leave you alone? Well the same goes for flamers on message boards.

Can we please leave the angry, abusive, and unnecessary posts out of the forum please?

  10. I'll never forget when I finally found out the truth about Darth Revan.

HK-47's remarks throughout the game - and when he saved the two 'fleshy meatbag' Jedi in the Star Forge, thus proving his cold opinions of all 'meatbags'

Carth stuttering and stammering trying to talk to me (female) during his story - poor little space-pilot :*

The lines that you can give when Bastila is questioning you:

    B: "How old are you?"

    R: "3679 - Healthy living, you know."

B: "What planet are you from?"

    R: "Kashyyk. I'm a Wookie, can't you tell?"

    :)

Finally - I'll never forget my initial amazement at this awesome game when I saw it for the first time.

  11. ived played the game numerous times and have never been able to find the criminals. where were they? my bro found them but i didnt in the same place. does gender make a difference???

Presumably a bug, but here goes:

You can only find the escaped criminals if you take the DS route on Telos and side with Czerka. They show up during one of your meetings with Czerka, and then show up down on the restoration land. If you didn't see them with Czerka first, then you get common mercenaries down there instead.

  13. (I have the Xbox version) Okay. So I beat all the Jedi Masters, and returned to the Academy. The Handmaiden beat her sisters, and I got the little Atris cutscene. (Mistress, as you have commanded...) Now I'm her, and I'm stuck. How do you get through the door towards the audience chamber/meditation chamber? The entire academy is empty, and you can't get back on the Hawk. Help?

Normally you just run all the way to the door and it cuts to the fight when you're almost there...
