Why would it be a massacre? Who says they'd shoot to kill? And why on Earth would you be hopping the border in the first place with armed guards standing on the other side? That's like bending over for a bull when wearing red trousers. Stupid. The founding fathers also decreed that black slaves were 3/5th of a person and not capable of being citizens. Stop acting like the law is God's will. The advantage of a democracy is that you have the ability to change the law (for example, Bush has the ability to grant amnesty to all current illegal immigrants, thereby making them lawful citizens/immigrants). So long as you're unwilling to question it, that freedom is worthless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you for clipping out the rest of the quote... You know, the part about amendments? Surprise, they do happen. ) Changes can be made of course, but if he were to do that, then what about all the others still coming in? What do you propose we do about that? I am not unwilling to question the law. I do all the damned time. It's just that this particular law has its place and has its use. The laws themselves become useless if they aren't enforced.

Civilians won't know if the weapons are carrying blanks or live ammunition...just fire into the air with blanks. Only a thought.

If that was sarcasm. Ow. If it wasn't sarcasm. For god sakes, never rely on me for information.

Well, basically, it's the same thing as outsourcing. Most of the money they make goes directly back to their families in Mexico. Granted, we're in an inflationary period already...but.......yeah.

Damn. You are getting close to the grave. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Look who's talking, granny. "

I didn't say I wasn't willing to consider your viewpoint. I simply stated that I find the Nazi references to be a little over the top and damaging to the perpetrator's credibility. Politics is indeed emotional...a fatal flaw in the system. The emotion disrupts rational judgement. It's not really easy. It's just something that has to be done in order to comply with the current laws. Birth guarantee's citizenship because that's the way things are set up here. Simple as that. The founding fathers came up with a plan, there have been numerous amendments, both official and not, and now we're here. Black and white. Agreed on most things...except for the people who've been here 20 years or so. That's a long time. I'd say not to deport, but to force them to legally acquire their citizenship within a certain amount of time, say a year (Not counting time taken for the process itself), then face deportation if they don't.

Is it me, or does making comparisons between Hitler/the third reich and Bush/the current administration automatically take away from credibility? This particular issue may seem like it's loaded down with shades of grey, but rest assured, it's pretty black and white. They've come in illegally, therefore, they must either become legal citizens by going through the proper channels/procedures, or risk being thrown out of the country. My main question is this; Why would you come in illegally in the first place? If you do, you have to be willing to take the pro of getting in with the con of being treated poorly. Get a citizenship, and that poor treatment goes, for the most part, bye bye. Otherwise, don't complain.

Meeting a pre-determined requirement set by the governing body of our country pretty much sums it up...be it in time spent within the country, or through other means. It should because that's the way the laws are set up. I'm the first to admit that some laws are more than a little pointless, but that's not the case here. And to compare these laws, of all of them, to Hitler's "Kill the Jews" laws is just...dumb.

Like?

So...we should allow illegal immigration even though it can, and does, have a negative impact on the economy at large? The killing of jews and maintaining laws of citizenship that have been in place for decades aren't the same thing, by any stretch of the imagination.
-
Um...what? It's a matter of legality concerning citizenship. If they went through the proper procedures, it'd be fine and dandy.

He doesn't mean mental age. Anywho...early 20s, I'd say.

As much as it scares me...I agree with Volo and Hades. The immigration laws and border guards are there for a reason. If you want to come into the country, then do so legally. I'd do the same if I wanted to enter any other country...

Tempers have cooled I think. NWN 2 DM Client

Well fine, be mean about it. :'( At least do everybody the favor of editing, or at least spellchecking your posts. Might make it easier for people to better understand what you're saying. -
Tempers have cooled I think. NWN 2 DM Client
LoneWolf16 replied to Judge Hades's topic in Computer and Console
I thought "Yes it is. It's one of the most hyped features of the NWN franchise. It's the thing that makes NWN different to other games. People seem to think that somehow the DMC costs Obsidian sales... yet the success of NWN itself disproves this theory.. unless youa re saying that NWN sold more than BG2 on the basis that it's SP OC wa stronger than BG2?" was basically saying that NWN sold for its multiplayer component...if I was wrong, then sorry about that. -

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> My main point...still...stands... Think about it for two seconds...TWO...and if the pointlessness of arguing that somebody is getting screwed hasn't hit you yet, then please, kill yourself. Dude, that's it. I'm so cancelling our date. B...b...b...bwoke my wittle heart. :'( Ahem. All I did was respond to Volo's incorrect assumption that it was the multiplayer that sold the game. Most don't even use the multiplayer functionality, so my statement was true. " -

LoneWolf16 replied to Judge Hades's topic in Computer and Console
The majority of players don't use multiplayer functions. Therefore, the single player is the major draw for sales. Take that. And why do people insist on giving over the top, moronic examples to further their aims? It's, frankly, childish. -
Looks like I'll be getting a 360 this time around...for Halo 3, GoW, ME, and a few other titles, but I still have a sneaking suspicion that Sony will come away with the win in terms of units sold. Nintendo, on the other hand, will actually be a contender this time...and as was said a few posts up, they'll make the most money.

1. OE said Kotor2 was complete " 2. They might not even release it. " 3. Haha, you make it sound like the DM inside the package would cost the consumer more cash, while the DL would cost them nothing. But ofcourse it is both free... one just screw the costumer by forcing them a large DL that is now just an empty space on the disk that could be filled and thus save them that inconvenience of buying an (here the main issue comes) INCOMPLETE GAME and then completing it later by (not even certain to come) fixes... 4. Let's make another comparisson. With UT2K4. What if you get that game then see major seller point gamemode ONSLAUGHT was not included and had to be DL-ed like say, 20 days after release. How would you feel? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1. It is complete. There's a beginning and an ending, albeit a crappy one. 2. They will. 3. The game is complete from a single player's perspective, as well as from most of a multiplayer's. I'd rather get the game a month earlier than wait for content I'm not going to touch...that's the same way a lot of people are thinking right now, the majority in fact. You'll get your client, and you'll get it in the same amount of time it'd take were the main game released with it some time down the road. How big of a download do you think it is? What are you basing your guess on? Why would somebody with dial-up be playing games online and, more importantly, why would they need a DM client? Who wants a DM with a 500 ping? 4. Bad example...again. You seem to be giving the DM client more weight than it actually has. It is not an integral feature. It is not a major selling point. It has no use for people outside of a "small" minority. I'm not saying "screw the people who want it" I'm merely pointing out the audacity of the claim. -

I meant the internet connection costs. Whether it costs something (I pay by the MB dl'd) or the trouble someone without an internet connection goes through obtaining the patch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Come to think of it...why would somebody who doesn't have the internet care about a DM client? They won't be using it. Three letters can best describe you and the given circumstances. S-O-L. -

LoneWolf16 replied to Judge Hades's topic in Computer and Console
That's silly. Basically what you're saying is that you're not paying for the DM, and yet, you're complaining about that! Exclamation point. Yes. The game would be a toolset. But, since we're not at a ridiculous extreme with this, saying something like that is beyond merely silly; It's ultra mega hyper silly. And I'm not sure I get the point of that second part. You're saying, again, that you're getting the DM client for free, when it should be part of the game, where you'd be paying for it? Oh, and my main point still remains. You'd get the DM in the same amount of time, regardless of whether NWN 2 ships sooner or later. I know, just making a point. I didn't know they had systems like that. And why, in this day and age, would somebody who plays PC games not have some sort of internet? -
