  1. Well......it's because we can.
  2. True enough, but I'm not debating the motives/view point of terrorists.
  3. Those people in the buildings didn't do anything to warrant an attack. I am not a terrorist, I am not advocating the death of innocents, I'm simply fine with the concept of murderous rapists having their genitals mangled.
  4. So how do you think people can make themselves crash a plane into a highly populated area, knowing fully the consequences of such? Because they're evil terrorists!!!1???? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The people in those buildings were innocents. Not what I'm talking about at all. The point is null and void.
  5. Um...no. I've got an elastic definition for it...I judge on a case by case basis. His family suffers by losing their loved one. Never said I was immune to it. I know full well that methods like what I've described are cruel, and definitely unusual. Perhaps if I explained it like this; To me, to perform such acts as what I've explained and what Zarqawi and company have done, automatically deprives the perpetrators of their basic humanity and the rights that go along with it. In my mind, these brutalities are not happening to people, they're happening to rabid, mindless animals....which is strange, because I'm an animal person...but I digress..... Cruelty, yes, but just cruelty. I know this is a semi-serious topic, but I couldn't help but laugh at that.
  6. Honestly don't know how I'd react to something like that, so you got me there, but I know full well I wouldn't "bomb them" back. On the other hand, if a guy broke into my house and murdered my entire family in cold blood, I'd be on board with the whole "stuff him full of hot coals and hang him in the square" approach.
  7. Nice dodge.
  8. It's all about intent. There's no accidentally raping a three-year-old girl. There's no "whoops" involved in that.
  9. Something with the perp's testicles always works. No? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hacksaw! (w00t) Edit: Not quite Lyr. Seriously, why do people defend the rights of child rapists/murderers? Not like I'm calling for this in all cases, just in those that meet certain terrible criteria, like the aforementioned example.
  10. Ok, good example: You **** then murder a three-year-old girl, you get your **** shoved in a pencil sharpener for a few...I dunno...days. )
  11. Yes, but it is best not to sink down to that base level. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hate that argument. How are we sinking down to that base level by dishing out proper punishment to people for actions befitting a rabid animal?
  12. It was uncivilized to rape/murder/molest the child.
  13. I agree, but the punishment would depend on the crime. And for child molesters/killers/rapists...forcibly remove the genitals with a pencil sharpener...then the bullet thing. Explanation: I have this strange thing where when a child is harmed, I tend to get a bit.......shall we say, vindictive with the punishment.
  14. I never meant "you people" as a personal attack, though reading it again, it sort of comes off that way. More like, "people who think as you do", or, "those having an opinion on the subject that directly opposes mine". And happy to hear I'm liked, especially by so idealistic of a woman. :"> I agree there's no real hope of changing people's minds when it comes to so sensitive of a subject, but, as you said, we're entitled to our opinions. Though mine isn't all that "radical" or at least not more than yours. Yes, I know I can't, nor do I want to. Not my place to impose such things on others, though I can damn well do my best to give them another view to think about. The overall point I'm making is that there's a difference, a very real (And I thought obvious) one; Corporal punishment leads to the deaths of murderers. The actions these bastards take leads to the deaths of innocents. I don't care what they think is justified, the fact of the matter is that it's not. I'm usually all for dissenting opinions, but on something like this I have to draw a line. Then again, neither of us is in a position to change how things work, so it's all just idle chatter anyway. And I know you're entitled to. I wasn't calling that into question. I'm just trying to debate is all, key word being "trying" (And failing too). About the whole 9/11 comparison...Mr. 1337 covered it.
  15. But that's not the question being posed. The question...and I'm reading at the top of my screen...is "Are Video Games Art?" And to me, yes, they're an art form. I mean, if some guy can paint a dot in the middle of a canvas and it'll sell for millions, I'm not sure it can really be argued that something this involving on a creative level can't be considered a form of art.
  16. That's a really stupid way of coming to that conclusion...no offense. Think about it, the class has to have a curriculum that it can get through in one years time, or a semester. Try fitting the study of music, movies, writing, painting, and drawing into a single class.
  17. Like 4 people did it before you, man. No worries.
  18. The real question is, how *fast* is it? The OP didn't have a clue about where to buy the game at 12:35, and 11 minutes later he/she was trying to figure out how to level up. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he/she/it/alien mollusk was asking about the level above our post count, not in Oblivon.
  19. *Snap* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he may have been referring to me and Lucius with that, but I could be wrong. @Eldar: I'm not jumping up and down here, but I can't say I'm not diappointed he had a quick death. The whole "Eye for an Eye" thing really works for me, even though doing so leaves two people who're half blind. @Commie: Relax, man... Fine by me.
  20. Why? I agree with Commie, so I'd just like to know...
  21. Hell no. 18, baby...woo...hoo?
  22. Huh? That's insulting to Baley, actually...
  23. Yeah. On the other hand, it'd be a bit better if you actually had the faintest clue in hell as to what you were talking about. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Care to elaborate? Not that I'm disagreeing, just like to see your take on this.
  24. Theory of a Deadman - Say I'm Sorry Maybe when I leave, I'll lead a life less empty Maybe we were waiting way too long to end this soap opera story You'll accept just half of all these consequences Maybe then that's when I'll finally say I'm sorry
